Company Overview

You may find much about the air quality indoors that is often overlooked and is not visible. Nearly over 72 trillion microscopic irritants, such as allergens, enter the indoor environment each day. These consist of dust particles, pollen, pet hair and dander, dust mites, mildew, fabric lint, fungus, most tobacco smoke, cooking grease and germs. Many of these particles are tiny that they evade your nose and throat's defenses, and they can get deep into your lungs. Experience improved air quality through the American Standard AccuClean air filtration system, which eliminates almost all particles and allergens from your home's air. This system is far more effective than typical 1-inch disposable filters and ionic devices. Selecting an American Standard air conditioner or heat pump system with an Energy Star logo is an important step to cut down on utility expenses -- along with using less energy. What can you expect from a unit carrying the Energy Star logo? Cooling systems that are heat pumps with this certification offer a minimum of 20% greater efficiency than the current federal efficiency benchmarks. Purchasing an American Standard HVAC unit that bears the Energy Star label ensures that you're getting maximum efficiency on the market. Make sure to ask your American Standard HVAC dealer about local incentives provided by various utility providers and financial institutions when buying Energy Star products.

If I could give the Third Generation Plumbing and Mechanical Company negative stars I would. They came out to my house as a result of a home warranty claim I made through American Home Shield for a leaky faucet in my tub which should have been a $75 copay and they handle the rest. They installed new rubber washers which stops the leaky faucet and say a valve needs to be replaced and that they they must go through the tile in the front of my shower to replace said valve. The home warranty doesn't cover going through the front and their charge ruin my bathroom tile and replace the valve would be $850. However, there is rear access to the pipes through a closet (see images below) which could have been used and wasn't to replace the valve (which would have been covered under the home warranty). I called to alert them that there is rear access to the pipes and that while they fixed the leaky faucet they caused some damage to where if the shower was turned on, the faucet also ran I was told I would be called back by a supervisor. A week later I called again and asked why I wasn't called back. I also asked them to come fix the shower head. I was instructed that if I didn't pay the $850 they would not come back out to correct the issue they created. I wound up having American Home Shield send out another contractor - Kintex Plumbing (ask for Plamen) who solved the issue within an hour of arrival - and who didn't have to go through my tile to make the corrections. I highly recommend you run from the dishonest workers at Third Generation to the plumbers at Kintex. I gave Third Generation every chance to correct their errors and let them know well in advance that this post would be the result of their actions.

Tech came to the house, started diagnosing my hot water issue, but then laughed at my wife and walked away when she asked him a question about the hot water heater. He wouldn't give me his last name (Joe), so I sent him away. Called Omar at HQ, and he didn't want to hear my complaint and then hung up on me. American Home Sheild should be ashamed to have them on their list of techs.

I, personally, would give this company a zero rating if it were possible. We rent our home and the AC unit stopped working one night (in Florida summer, that's pretty miserable and out daughter was getting heat rash and not able to sleep) so the landlord put in a call to American Home Shield who connected him with Third Generation Plumbing. This was later in the evening, after normal hours of operation had closed up, but they have an after hours answering service that I was connected to. After a chat with the receptionist (Ramon) he said he put the call in and someone would be contacting me within 30 minutes, and if not to call back. 35 minutes later, very sweaty and miserable, I called back. This time I got a female receptionist who took a lot of information down and, again, told me someone would be calling me back within 30 minutes. An HOUR later, with still no return call, I called back. Then they started telling me that Katie, the Third Generation Contact, was unreachable and they would keep trying and get back to me. At this point, my kid is crying and miserable, my husband and I are hot and irritable and it's past 11 pm, so we decide to try and get some sleep, having written off the idea of someone rescuing us that night. The next morning, I waited until normal business hours and attempted again to make contact with this company, hoping to get our AC taken care of before the heat of the day. I called and was cut off mid-sentence by the woman who answered, and placed on hold for several minutes, before someone answered telling me to go ahead and I was on speaker... so I attempted to begin speaking and was hung up on. So I called back, and asked if they provided professional services for AC repair. The woman who answered said, """"Is this the person who REPEATEDLY called our answering service last night? Yeah, we are not coming out to service that property."""" Um, excuse me? I repeatedly called the answering service because the answering service repeatedly TOLD ME TO. If you aren't going to return a customer's call for whatever reason, perhaps it would be a good idea to let the answering service know so they can pass the message on to the customer, who is really just waiting around wondering how much more sleep she is going to have to sacrifice while patiently waiting for a call that is never going to come. All in all, very dissatisfied and this was one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever had the displeasure of needing to contact. They really need to review customer service procedures and how to train their staff in dealing with customers in a professional and respectful manner. I would never recommend allowing this company near your home.

Third Generation Plumbing in Tampa was referred to me by American Home Shield for an issue with my AC unit (not cooling). 30 days and 6 visits later - and twice told my AC was repaired - my AC is still not cooling at all. Based on this experience, I would not have them work on my air conditioner again.

They were assigned to us via our AHS warranty. There was a mix up when the tech called AHS to confirm the unit was covered. When I called AHS to correct. They confirmed it was covered and the prior rep had not looked in the notes which stated such. I then called Third Generation Plumbing to call AHS again to reconfirm it was covered. The person I spoke to Katie, was extremely rude and refuse to contact AHS on the same ticket to confirm the unit was covered. I finally had to tell her she was being rude. Upon hearing that she said since I said that good luck with them being timely on fixing my issue. I will be contacting AHS this morning to make them aware of the rest of the low reviews on this site. I am going to strongly recommend this company be taken off of their vendor list. Horrendous customer service! I am also out $75 for the service call.

My home warranty company sent this contractor out for a repair. Tech diagnosed problem - relatively simple plumbing fix. He told me he would need to call to verify coverage and that he needed to collect the deductible. He suggested that I make out the check while he called. He then stepped outside to make the call. When he returned from outside, he made sure I understood the repair was covered, then picked up the deductible check, and THEN informed me that the repair could not be completed without creating access. This access carries an """"access fee"""" that the warranty company does NOT cover. This """"access fee"""" is $450! Not being one to immediately hand over $450 without question, I started to ask questions while pulling up my Home Warranty coverage on-line. He told me that red flag #1 he was not making it up, red flag #2 he's been doing this for 14 years and the company for over 40 years, and red flag #3 it would be more if he had to access through concrete. He got upset that I refused to sign his paperwork which essentially approved the repair. He took the paper from me, tore off my copy, and demanded I hand him his pen. Then he continued to tell me that the fee is what is required to remove the garbage disposal and back panel of kitchen cabinet to access pipes. When I told him I would verify the information with my warranty company and his district manager (who allegedly sets the fees) before I would approve the work, he left my house - in quite the huff, I might add. He obviously does not care to be questioned. I called my warranty company. Yes, they do not cover access fees; however, I was told that if I provided access by completing the work for the technician then I wouldn't need to pay it. I called Third Generation - when confronted with this, the response was """"You can't remove the garbage disposal, it voids all warranties."""" Oddly enough, the district manager was not available and 4 hours later, he has yet to return my call. I called my home warranty company back, relayed my experience, and I have a second company coming out to evaluate the problem. Fortunately, this can be done at no further cost. I also acquired the address of the department that handles contractor complaints. This company obviously does not feel it is compensated well through the home warranty companies and therefore invents fees that can be charged directly to customers - usually without question. After reading several reviews with similar experiences, I'm inclined to believe that my technician was making it up, that he and the company he works for are far from trustworthy, and this practice will continue.

I wish I could give negative stars. April, the woman who answers the phone, should find work elsewhere as her customer service and basic respect for her fellow human beings is non existent. I had home warranty work for Attic AC Duct inspection and I called with a question regarding the technicians report and April said, """"Are you done?"""", to which I said, what's that supposed to mean? """"Are you done rambling on and on?"""" Wow, you're very rude, I was very precise, how was I rambling? April then told me, """"OK, if you need to talk to us then go through the warranty company and don't call us back again."""" Then April hung up on me. There is much more to say about the further interactions with this """"company"""" that were much like this mentioned experience but I don't want to type for the next 30 minutes.

DO NOT ACCEPT THIS VENDOR IF THEY SEND THEM TO YOU!!!! You have been warned. ... Had a broken pipe inside my house. They didn't want to deal with it because it was behind a step and told the warranty company it was outside so they wouldn't cover it. Wouldn't provide photos or report to me. EXTREMELY DISHONEST! Entered my property without calling as requested or without anyone being there as required. Dispatcher lady condescendingly kept calling me 'Honey' even after I asked her not to. I am a homeowner and a customer. Then she said """" I don't know what kind of episode you're having today, Honey"""" and hung up on me. This is the type of interaction you should expect when dealing with this disaster of a company. They don't care because the warranty company contracts with them. No need for good customer, service or quality. They make money either way.

We had service provided by this company and I have to say the worst in customer service. We had to pre-pay $225.00 for the service and they stated they would not start any work until they were paid which is un-heard of. We pre-paid as we wanted the sink that was clogged to be taken care of. After running a snake for 15 ft, the man told us that is all he can do!! They do not guarantee their work because its Plumbing?? So we called to have Omar the """"owner"""" we were told and set up an appointment to have him come out to analyze the concern and told mother it would cost us $3K to $4K to have the problem resolved however he need to call the city for some reason. He told mother he would call her with a couple of hours, that never happened. We will never use this company and I wish I had reach these reviews before calling them.

Was referred to this company through our home warranty AHS. The technician that came to look at the leaking faucet was very friendly however, the report submitted to AHS did not match the report that was given to us. They added additional false information in the report given to AHS so our claim would ultimately be denied. It seems this company is trying to obtain business directly by ensuring claims are denied through home warranty companies.
