I had my water heater replaced by 3GP through my Home Warranty Company in August 2019, on December 28 while away from home the hot water side pipe blew off, was never glued. The Warranty Company doesn't staff on Weekends and is already been without water going on day 2. I called a plumber to repair. The HWC called on Monday to inform us what we needed to do and gave us the name of the installation company. I called the business office 2 times and left messages, no return call. The third time I called today I reached someone who was rude and was not willing to talk with me at all, kept saying I needed to contact the warranty company! I informed her that I had and she looked for a ticket which she didn't find one. Said the only way they would help me is if I opened a ticket (I'm sure so they could charge me more money!) I told her I had pictures and the part which clearly showed the pipe was not glued to the fitting of the hot side supply. She said allegedly! They DO NOT stand behind their Wirk and refuse to help you in an event of faulty craftsmanship! The installation crew also informed me that I need an expansion talk installed and a drain pan ( $35 and $7.00 respectively at THD) said it was code and the needed to install. Charged me $150 for the expansion tank and $35 for the plastic drain pan. Come to find out that no permit was pulled, no inspections done so those 2 items weren't required! UPSALE! I would not recommend this company to anyone for any reason and I'm in the process of contacting my attorney to recoup the cost of repairs, property damage and water wasted

**a negative star rating would be more appropriate.** I am writing this review in an effort to help future customers. Third Generation's business practices are so questionable that I would advise anyone in the Tampa Area who has American Home Shield (AHS) to cancel their warranty and find another company. For the two (2) times that I used my home warranty, Third Generation was the vendor. For the first job (bathroom faucet stopped working), they were supposed to be there by 11am and the tech arrived at 5pm, totally unacceptable for working people. For the second job (leaking hot water heater), I was told that AHS would cover the cost of a new hot water heater and removal of the old one HOWEVER, Third Generation needed to make all these modifications in order to install the new water heater and I would have to come out of pocket $628.00. This is on top of the $100 service fee I have already paid. Let me outline some important parts: (1) it's a townhouse, the water heater is in the garage (2) the townhouse was built in 2007 (3) When I called Third Generation to speak to someone about the price, I was originally lied to and was told it was a """"county code"""" issue and that's why the tech said the new piping was needed. I explained that I would call the division of building permits for the county and ask for any updates. Then the lady on the phone told me it was not the county but the water heater manufacturer. I politely told her I know price gouging when I see it. She said, """"if you don't like our price AHS can cash it out and you can go with someone else."""" I called AHS and asked about the cash out option. The representative on the phone a bit snarky said, """"you provide us an invoice from a licensed contractor, and we will reimburse you $379."""" When I asked how she arrived at that figure, she said that's what they would have paid Third Generation. So, let's add this up; $100 service call, $628 out of pocket, and $379 pay out to Third Generation equals $1,107 for a hot water heater in a townhouse! I went to Home Depot bought a water heater with the extended warranty, asked my realtor friend to refer a plumber (oh yeah, he's licensed and he picked up the hot water heater) and my out of pocket price is less than $750! Now, I will submit my receipts to AHS and see if I can get my $379! If I have to do all this, what's the purpose of American Home Shield? By the way, I have experience with having a home warranty. For twelve (12) years, I had Service America (went out of business) and never experienced anything like this in all those years.

I wish I could give 0 stars this is the worst company in the world. AHS should drop this company . Omar is the biggest jerk I have ever talked to . He is in the wrong business and he needs to learn customer care not tell them if they call they will be blocked. The owner should read these messages and take care of them. I told AHS this also and I will never let them in my house again. This company needs to hire people who know what they are doing.

If I could give the Third Generation Plumbing and Mechanical Company negative stars I would. They came out to my house as a result of a home warranty claim I made through American Home Shield for a leaky faucet in my tub which should have been a $75 copay and they handle the rest. They installed new rubber washers which stops the leaky faucet and say a valve needs to be replaced and that they they must go through the tile in the front of my shower to replace said valve. The home warranty doesn't cover going through the front and their charge ruin my bathroom tile and replace the valve would be $850. However, there is rear access to the pipes through a closet (see images below) which could have been used and wasn't to replace the valve (which would have been covered under the home warranty). I called to alert them that there is rear access to the pipes and that while they fixed the leaky faucet they caused some damage to where if the shower was turned on, the faucet also ran I was told I would be called back by a supervisor. A week later I called again and asked why I wasn't called back. I also asked them to come fix the shower head. I was instructed that if I didn't pay the $850 they would not come back out to correct the issue they created. I wound up having American Home Shield send out another contractor - Kintex Plumbing (ask for Plamen) who solved the issue within an hour of arrival - and who didn't have to go through my tile to make the corrections. I highly recommend you run from the dishonest workers at Third Generation to the plumbers at Kintex. I gave Third Generation every chance to correct their errors and let them know well in advance that this post would be the result of their actions.

Terrible service! The home warranty company needs to drop them! First they gave a time 12-4. Didn't show up until well over 5 pm when their office was closed and I couldn't get a hold of anyone! Then he shows up late. There's an invention called the telephone, learn to use it! Second he flushed the toilet a few times and ran water.. saying it worked itself out. Less than a week later, nope it's backed up again. Call them to come fix the issue and they say NO! Call the warranty company back! Apparently after being in business over 40 years, this company has decided it doesn't care anymore! And their reviews prove it! I do not recommend them, and if your warranty company wants you to use them, say NO! Save yourself the trouble and money!

I had a water heater replaced by Third Generation Plumbing, A/C & Mechanical Company, Inc. on September 26, 2019. When they did the job, the broke one tile on my kitchen floor, and 3 pavers on my front door step. Upon calling them to fix the problem, their response was that I signed a waiver on the date of installation. Come to find out the tiny little letters on the receipt I signed supposedly gives them permission to break anything and not be liable. Starting at the attendant on the phone, who is rude and unprofessional, hung up on me, screened my calls and put me on hold 5 times not to take my message, to the crew that installed the heater and broke things and did not even let me know, to the manager who schedules to be on my house to see the damage one day, I wait for him from 10am to 2pm, he never shows up and never calls to reschedule, this company should not be in business. All I want is them to take responsibility and fix what was broken during their service. The manager will not even return my calls.

Unprofessional, fraudulent, will misdiagnose to avoid having to provide true services when dealing with insurance. It's a scam.. The technician I encountered was clearly playing the insurance game. Once I told him which insurance company I use, Old Republic, he went on and on about how insurance isn't going to cover this... Upon further inquiry on my part as to what is the actual diagnosis and solution he made several phone calls to his boss. This all happened over a two hour time period! My insurance has one exception. It will not cover any AC issue if there is an underground Leak . The technician was tired of my probing as to what is going on and demanded his $100 and left without giving a written report. To the Old Republic, he reported there is an underground leak. Of course. We had another professional AC company come out and within 45 min it was clear we need a new unit and he explained everything to me and there is no underground leak. Funny that the technician at Third Generation said to me this unit is """"junk"""". Now I'm out all my insurance money and paying a reputable company for the services I needed from the get go. At this point I don't know who to blame. Insurance company or those that they employ.. seems like they are scratching each other's backs . And I am the sucker. Live and learn

Tech came to the house, started diagnosing my hot water issue, but then laughed at my wife and walked away when she asked him a question about the hot water heater. He wouldn't give me his last name (Joe), so I sent him away. Called Omar at HQ, and he didn't want to hear my complaint and then hung up on me. American Home Sheild should be ashamed to have them on their list of techs.

I will NEVER provide my business to this company again. I had a scheduled appt, the tech never showed, scheduled again for the next day, no show again. Office manager was very rude and unprofessional. She pointed the finger solely at my home warranty company. The issue began with her tech supposedly running 2 hours behind yet as I explained, the professional thing would have been a phone call to inform the homeowner of that since waiting from 8am-7pm with no contact. The following day when I re-scheduled and there was no show, I called and was told the warranty company canceled the service request. As I attempted to explain to the """"office manager"""" (who never provided me with her name), the once again professional thing to day would have been for someone to call me and inform me of the issue at 10am when they received an email so that I could have it corrected given the prior day incident but I did not find out until the end of the day when my appointment time was missed again and I called in. I also explained that the property is occupied by a elderly disabled person and it is a safety issues with 100 degree temperatures but she replied """"sorry you are having a bad day but there is nothing I can do for you, you do not give us other business""""...WOW! Then she checked my name only to be made a fool of and see that I had another property recently serviced by her company.

Company sent tech who had no knowledge of why kitchen faucet hose leaked. Made incorrect statement to American Home Shield Warranty who denied warranty. Technician represented he would install exact same fixture for stated price (high). Agreed and paid. Then installed smaller faucet and shorter hose which is not adequate. Company has refused to address issues and staff rude.
