Company Overview

There’s a lot about indoor air quality that is often overlooked and is often invisible. As many as 72 trillion microscopic irritants, such as allergens, invade the indoor environment each day. They include dust, pollen, animal hair and dander, mites, mold, fabric lint, fungi, most tobacco smoke, cooking grease as well as bacteria. Numerous particles are so small that they evade your nose and throat's defenses, and can penetrate deep into your lungs. Enjoy cleaner air by using the AccuClean by American Standard AccuClean air filtration system, which eliminates almost all all allergens and particles from your indoor air. This system is significantly more efficient compared to standard 1-inch disposable filters and ionic devices. Opting for an American Standard air conditioner or heat pump system that carries the Energy Star certification is an important step to saving money on your utility bills and using less energy. What can you expect from a unit carrying the Energy Star logo? Cooling systems that are heat pumps that have this symbol offer a minimum of 20% greater efficiency than the current federal efficiency benchmarks. Investing in an American Standard HVAC unit with the Energy Star label assures you of maximum efficiency on the market. Make sure to ask your American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning dealer about available local incentives available from numerous utility companies and financial institutions for the purchase of Energy Star products.

Came out to diagnose and repair a heater issue with my HVAC system. First guy tells me """"...it will continue to do that until you get it fixed"""" I made clear that's why He's there LOL. It was through American Home Shield warranty, so it had to be authorized and the control board ordered. It got ordered and then comes the installation tech, John a """"Senior"""" tech. He installs a new control board and leaves. 22 minutes after he eaves my thermostat notifies me it's not cooling, which worked perfectly prior to this """"repair"""". The issue was the heater, not the A/C. I call them, they say I need to call AHS for a dispatch number, then without notifying me, until I call wondering why I haven't heard back and they take over 24hrs to respond to my calls, it's denied. I'm like what?!?! it worked perfectly before they """"fixed it"""". Ended up calling my own guy and turns out, John the senior tech left the wire that told the outside unit to turn on disconnected. What sort of tech replaces a major part in an HVAC system and doesn't run or test the unit afterwards. The kind that already knows it isn't going to work and is trying to sell you a new unit. PS the guy I hired independently mentioned that they do a lot of follow up work behind Third Generation. DISGUSTING!!! STAY AWAY!!!

If I could give them a Zero that would be the rating I give this company. Do not call them for ANY service. I have a pipe leaking under my house. Plumber came was not able to get into the craw space through the opening. Called to determine when they were sending another plumber and found out from my warranty company that the company LIED about what happened. The company said the space was to small, the damage was caused by another company, and another access point needed to be made to get to the pipe. This company should not be doing business when they provide false information to the warranty company stating I made these comments. There are better companies out there that can do great work for you.

Came out per home warranty request. Plumber told us we needed a clean out, but because he couldn't find our access point, we would be denied by the warranty company. If we found the access point, just call the company back and they'd work it. If we couldn't find the access point, they would put one in for $800. We found the access point 30 minutes after he left after a phone call to another plumber who told us exactly where to look for it. Why didn't the plumber with Third Generation know where to look??? Third Generation tells us they can't use the access point we found as it's a city one by the sidewalk and they can only use one that is 3' from the house so we'd still have to pay the $800 for them to install. Two other plumbers since this have confirmed there's no issue with using the city one. And, because the plumber put the problem down as an access point needed to be installed vs just that a clean out was needed, our warranty company denied it flat out. Untrustworthy company scamming customers. We've also canceled our home warranty service. If they're willing to work with disreputable companies like Third Gen, why would we trust anyone they send out.

Have waited for thirty minutes today and every time the phone rings I am put on hold again. Apparently this business needs no more clients.

Absolute worst service I have ever received. I now know why warranty companies use them, poor quality must equal low cost to warranty. They actually used the worst profanity possible. Terribly Rude.

I had a similar encounter with this company. The plumber who came into my home attempted to over charge us for very simple repairs. When confronted , he reduced the estimate by 150 dollars. Use another company. This company is dishonest and unprofessional.

I do not recommend this company. I wish yelp had ZERO ratings! We were a customer by way of our home warranty so that may be a reason they treated us they way they did, but considering they repeatedly tried to sell us their own HVAC coverage policy you would think they would have been a little more customer-focused. Appointments were made on days & at times that were convenient for them. And even then, there were two appointments that were mixed up/confused & had to be re-made because we weren't on the schedule on the day originally scheduled. This resulted in more missed work time & zero consideration from the company for accommodating later appointment times or Saturday calls. The quality of work for both HVAC and plumbing left me wondering if their employees were truly licensed. The plumber created more problems than he fixed. We had a leaky sink drain and after he worked on it, it wouldn't drain at all & then he claimed he would have to rip out the wall to figure out what was going on ($$$). They tried to sell me a faucet for $200 and the same faucet at Home Depot is $20. And they quoted a leak repair at $300 higher than another company that gave us an estimate. The A/C guy that came out was quote/unquote """"baffled"""". This was also the same employee that walked through my front door sweating profusely complaining about the company (that he'd only worked at for 2 weeks) because they gave him a van that had no A/C, wasn't stocked properly & were """"running him all over"""" with 5 appointments in one day. Three times their employees walked off the job without repairing/fixing the problem which of course resulted in more missed work to meet them for appointments. The final straw was when they HUNG UP on my husband & when we called back were told """"they were busy & didn't want to deal with us"""". Take your chances with any other company out there & you're likely to come out better than if you use these folks.

If only negative stars were possible. They gave me the worst customer service experience I've EVER had. Do yourself a favor and listen to the reviews . The girl who answers the phone is lucky she hung up on me because I would have told her a thing or two about herself.

My home warranty company sent this contractor out for a repair. Tech diagnosed problem - relatively simple plumbing fix. He told me he would need to call to verify coverage and that he needed to collect the deductible. He suggested that I make out the check while he called. He then stepped outside to make the call. When he returned from outside, he made sure I understood the repair was covered, then picked up the deductible check, and THEN informed me that the repair could not be completed without creating access. This access carries an """"access fee"""" that the warranty company does NOT cover. This """"access fee"""" is $450! Not being one to immediately hand over $450 without question, I started to ask questions while pulling up my Home Warranty coverage on-line. He told me that red flag #1 he was not making it up, red flag #2 he's been doing this for 14 years and the company for over 40 years, and red flag #3 it would be more if he had to access through concrete. He got upset that I refused to sign his paperwork which essentially approved the repair. He took the paper from me, tore off my copy, and demanded I hand him his pen. Then he continued to tell me that the fee is what is required to remove the garbage disposal and back panel of kitchen cabinet to access pipes. When I told him I would verify the information with my warranty company and his district manager (who allegedly sets the fees) before I would approve the work, he left my house - in quite the huff, I might add. He obviously does not care to be questioned. I called my warranty company. Yes, they do not cover access fees; however, I was told that if I provided access by completing the work for the technician then I wouldn't need to pay it. I called Third Generation - when confronted with this, the response was """"You can't remove the garbage disposal, it voids all warranties."""" Oddly enough, the district manager was not available and 4 hours later, he has yet to return my call. I called my home warranty company back, relayed my experience, and I have a second company coming out to evaluate the problem. Fortunately, this can be done at no further cost. I also acquired the address of the department that handles contractor complaints. This company obviously does not feel it is compensated well through the home warranty companies and therefore invents fees that can be charged directly to customers - usually without question. After reading several reviews with similar experiences, I'm inclined to believe that my technician was making it up, that he and the company he works for are far from trustworthy, and this practice will continue.

AC shutdown. Requested service of tech to restore power to system. Rafael from third generation AC responded and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. Rafael explained the problem ( draining) issue and corrected the system. He also conducted a thorough evaluation to make sure there wouldn't be any other issues with the system. We were impressed with his response and professionalism with the task at hand. He also demonstrated how to use the app with WiFi enabled. Great job ! 5 Stars Gerald E Benton
