Our Water Heater sprung a leak during the Memorial Day weekend! It seems this always happens at the worst time, right? I called our Heating & Air Conditioning Service, GMS and Ed recommended The Plumbing Smith in Glenview. Kevin Smith is the owner. Kevin was at our house by Wednesday. Kevin came exactly when he said he would be there. He answered all questions and told me exactly what was going on. Kevin was courteous, professional, honest, VERY knowledgable and I was so impressed with the clean up after the work was completed. I will definitely utilize The Plumbing Smith for future plumbing needs. Thank you Kevin.
Lots of things that can wrong in a house; HVAC, roof, plumbing, etc. It's a relief when you find a company you can count on and trust to be there when you need them, do good work, charge a fair price, and have a good support coordinator on the other end of the phone/text/email. Kevin and The Plumbing Smith continues to provide that relief and I know that when some type of plumbing need arises (and it always will), I have a go-to, trustworthy plumber/plumbing company.
Good people, honest, show up when they say that they will be there. Always do work. Friendly. Will not rip you off.
Steve O.I had the misfortune of needing a toilet repaired fairly quickly and not knowing any local plumbers, I called a local company that I know I can trust for a referral. Ed Niziolek at GMS Heating and Cooling in Morton Grove referred me to The Plumber Smith in Glenview. I called them and Tim in their office hooked me up immediately. The next day the tech, the Brother of the owner, was out and found the problem; the floor flange had broken. Since my house is older and a DIY guy had done major ""improvements"" previously, the broken flange turned out to be an odd size and was at an odd depth in the floor. Bottom line, he needed to find the right part and he said he would need to come back. He set up an appointment for first thing the next morning to make the repair. He came again, as promised and on time, and was done in an hour. Since I had no idea how long this type or repair would take or how much it might cost, I asked his thoughts. I gave a number and ""Will it be about this?"" He laughed and said not even close. It turned out to be about 40% of my guess. He could've charged me anything up to and including my guess, but he didn't. He was super quick, wry professional, very fair, very neat and knew exactly what he was doing. He was in and out in an hour and the total cost far less than I could've imagined.
As a result, I highly recommend The Plumber Smith. Competent, capable, honest and affordable. Any of those are rare qualities these days, and they especially rare when they are all combined together at one shop.
Miriam R.Kevin is reliable, honest, and a pleasure to work with. His work is excellent and his pricing is always fair. We have recommended him to friends and family.
Kevin was kind and knowledgeable. Helped us out in a jam quickly and efficiently. Will use their services again!
Jared W.We had a leak occur on our irrigation pump that we couldn't find a way to fix. We initially called another plumber who scheduled an appointment 3 hours out only to tell us once arriving that they do not service irrigation pumps since they are not connected to drinking water or sewage (untrue, as they are connected for our home). We reached out to a number of plumbers before Kevin answered and was able to come by in less than 30 minutes. He was extremely helpful, fixed our issue, and stopped the leak in our basement in less than an hour. His price was very reasonable and he was courteous. We will hire him again for any future plumbing needs.
charged $150 for an evaluation. a week later plumber arrived used a rod to try and fix the drain. after he put in a wax ring. place the toilet. then the toilet just flooded the floor. he looked at it and said He would not be able to fix it. I asked why did he charge $150 for an evaluation and now saying he can't fix it, on top of the $460 charge of supposedly fixing it? my experience with them has been horrible. no solution has been resolved through them. just a run a round. be careful where you spend your hard working money. they have not done honest work. they will give you all smiles. remember at the end they will try to juice you as much as they can with out being completely honest.
We needed a plumber. We called a few places for prices. Some called back, some didn't. One place was totally open ended with no estimate. ""$69 to come out and then we will tell you how much it would be!"" Seriously? No ballpark estimate...just have your checkbook ready and open? No thanks.
Plumbing Smith called back. Gave us a price and came on time to get the job done! It was even $50 cheaper then the quote on the phone because he didn't have to use the machine. Sink drains just fine and we are happy campers!
Thanks Plumbing Smith for getting back to us, being on time, fixing our problem, and not gauging us! We certainly would have you back!
Natalie B.Kevin was awesome. He came when he said he would, and he was very thorough. He charged a reasonable price for the amount of work, and the length of time on the job. I would definitely recommend him to my family and friends!
