Recommended Customer Reviews
They showed up 5 minutes early and well prepared. Very courteous and respectful and got the job done.
The initial visit seemed to go well - the tech said the problem was the mixing cartridge in the shower. We had recently replaced our hot water heater but the shower wasn't getting any hot water. Seemed like the tech had the info he needed when he left. we even gave the tech a brief overview of some other, less pressing, plumbing projectd we had in mind (for a recommend on what the order of operations should be for these other projects).
therefore, the email summation/response I received from Dispatch was a surprise. We expected the tech to order a replacement mixing cartridge and come back to replace it when the part arrived. The email summation from dispatch made it sound like the problem was still unclear, the tech still needed measurements to order the correct mixing cartridge - which was quite expensive, so did we just want to replace the entire unit (escutcheon, mixing cartridge, and handle) instead? Oh hell no. I'd say it seemed like a simple miscommunication but it felt like they didn't want to fix the actual problems and wanted to do the full replacement. Our shower unit is a Grohe, which takes one of two mixing cartridges. They said they had one in the truck but weren't sure if it was the right one. Didn't even take it out during the first visit to see if it matched Up. I wrote a terse response to Dispatch, outlining what we had thought the course of action was once the initial tech had left. His visit was a waste of our time and money as he didn't get the info he needed to make the repair.
dispatch apologized, asked to send someone out gratis to get the measurements of the mixing cartridge. I asked them to send the Grohe mixing cartridge with the tech, in case it happened to fit. A different tech arrived for the second visit. Lo and behold, the mixing cartridge they had on hand fit our shower. The tech fixed it, and we paid the going rate for his time spent, plus the part. This could ALL could have been done in the initial visit, had the first tech done what he needed and even shown some initiative and grabbed the part from the truck just to see if it fit.
i'm glad The Plumbing Joint made it right, but it shouldn't have taken so much back and forth to get to the end result.
Samantha B.Buddy was awesome. We really appreciated his honesty, thoroughness and transparency during the walk through. We are looking forward to starting our project with you!
Daniel G.Total waste of my time & money. I called them to fix or replace a broken faucet in my bathroom. I explained clearly that a piece had snapped off (the diverter knob I guess; I dunno I'm not a plumber) and the dispatcher said no problem they'd schedule someone to come fix it. Well this morning the plumber shows up (BTW wearing a bandana instead of a real mask--it kept falling down while he was talking to me) takes one look, tells me he can't fix it he'll have to replace it only he doesn't have a new faucet so I should order one and then they can come back to fix it. This takes him about 30 seconds to explain and now I'm out $200. $200 for something the dispatcher could have told me over the phone, or could have explained to the plumber before sending him out. What a waste.
They had an opening the same week. Showed up right on time to replace a wax seal on a toilet. Got the job done in 15 minutes.
Nichole C.They were able to provide leak detection with the plumbing service and therefore diagnose and fix in the same trip, since it ended up being a simple repair. They were professional, friendly, quick, and knowledgeable, along with being able to provide additional information to our COA. Much appreciated, thank you!
We were dealing with an active leak from the top floor of our condo building and 3 companies came to unsuccessfully find the leak before the HOA finally called the Plumbing Joint. They found a pin hole leak in a copper pipe behind the wall and have been my go-to ever since!
The only thing that went right with their service is they showed up quickly late in the day. Had a hot water tap that wouldn't shut off completely. The stem needed to be replaced but the plumber did NOT have the right size wrench to remove it. I told them when I called the age of the house so they should of been prepared for items that don't meet todays standards.
He called someone else, ended up leaving after he told me had to check with his parts guy the next day. When he got back to me he told me the part would be $182.50 and take 5 days to get it. I informed him that the part was in stock at McLendens for $19.99 and I had already done the job myself.
Cost me $200 for them to do nothing as that is their minimum charge. They might be good for newer homes but I would t trust them if your house has been here for awhile.
Large amount of water splashed during installation and not cleaned up. Water leak after installation fixed for additional charge. I had to remind plumber about hex wrench which he was about to carry off. Registration
Information was hidden on back of disposal; no help from installer. Should have reviewed Checkbook on web first; rating of this company one of worst.
Exchanged several email with TPJ containing description of existing water heater; however, TPJ then stated they needed to send someone on site to finalize the quote providing we paid their current service call charge up front.
Not exactly a way to capture business by wanting to charge a potential customer a service charge up front so they can gather information to submit a quote to replace the potential customer's water heater.
Definitely had not run into this type of issue with other contractors in the past during a bidding process.
Hired one of the bidders who came on site at NC and then submitted a firm quote.
