The Comfort Authority
Company Overview
We recognize you put in effort to create a pleasant environment, yet occasionally what you can do isn't enough to reach the comfort level you rightfully deserve. The factors that are invisible, feel, or purchase in a retail outlet often influence the ambiance of a home. That's the point at which The Comfort Authority comes into play. Our specialists is qualified to provide expert service to assess your whole property to determine the exact cause of the problems you are facing that stop you from feeling the comfort you long for. We will continue until you are satisfied.
Our company might not exist had it not been for being let go. I had an impressive background in the United States Air Force, a leading hardware store, alongside in the finish carpentry industry. While the construction field was facing challenges, I applied for an opportunity in the cooling industry and got the position. I progressed to General Manager and gained a great deal of experience during my journey. Then, I was suddenly fired. To make a long story short, The Comfort Authority was established.
To thrive in our industry, it’s crucial to make every effort to meet your clients' needs while maintaining our values. Occasionally, clients request to carry out unpermitted work, to charge less than what is reasonable, or to accomplish unrealistic tasks. We refuse take shortcuts. This is not an easy path, however it is how to keep our customers while develop a reputable enterprise. Compromising our values creates unhappy clients and employees, and that’s not a sustainable way to stay in business.
Our customers are pleased, which we accomplished without compromising our core values, and I take great pride in that.

Charges $120 to come out for an estimate. NO THANKS! If I could charge $120 to just come out and give estimates I'd be rich. Stay away folks, 99% of the other companies will come out and give you a free bid on your job! 11/29/2019Hi Alan, thanks for the feedback. I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding - there is no charge for system replacement estimates. We only charge for work performed, such as a diagnostics, check ups, repairs or installations. If you were told anything different than this, please give me call and I'll get it cleared up for you. Hi Steve, I have called your company on 2 separate occasions now and was told that I need to pay $120 for you to come out and give me an estimate. I actually spoke with you. I am not paying $120 for you to submit your bid for a duct cleaning, that shouldn't cost much more than that anyways. Thanks but no thanks.

Had our annual service today. These folks have been and remain strong technicians who are focused on client needs (strong listeners asking things like """" what else concerns you? tell me more""""). We have been a full replacement customer, a duct work re-work customer and an annual check up customer DO CALL THEM!

Derek was very knowledgeable and explained everything along the way in choosing the right ac! Micheal and edwardo were amazing on instal and really went above and beyond on our replacement, micheal was so imformative and knowledgeable! Highly highly recommend to anyone needing an ac service or replacement!!!

I had Comfort Authority out to do a checkup on the AC in my new home. Scheduling was very easy, they were able to come out the next day and I got a text and picture of the technician who I would be meeting. Chris was my technician, he called before he headed over and arrived promptly- even made sure that where he parked his car was okay. He was very thorough, he spent almost 2 hours checking the AC unit as well as the Air Handler and duct work. He provided me a few estimates of some work that needed to be done, but didn't push me just to close a sale. He made sure I understood nothing needed to be fixed immediately, these were just things to look into down the line. Chris even went as far as cutting out some cardboard and placing it in my return as a temporary fix to a problem I was having. He cleaned up after himself and before even stepping in the house put booties on which was much appreciated. I went ahead and signed up for their Comfort Plan- which includes an annual unit maintenance as well as 10% off additional services and NO diagnostic fee if they come to your house to make a repair. Plus other benefits like after-hours service. Overall, it was just a wonderful experience and I'd highly recommend Comfort Authority to anyone.

Never thought buying a new AC unit would be so easy, quick, and affordable! This company was so wonderful, and talked me through everything. I felt like they provided me with all possible options and patiently answered the bazillions of questions I asked. Will never use anyone else!

12/19/18 - follow-up consultation with Eddy Totten. Knowledgeable and professional! I'd highly recommend contacting the Comfort Authority with all your air conditioning needs!!

Response to your comments: Thank you for the feedback. However, I still have a photocopy of your estimate. Your company doesnt use various brands of HVAC, depending on the customers request or preference? Because, I swear the selling point was that a name-brand HVAC doesnt matter...and, that you put your own name on the unit because you stand by it. The salesman finally told me the brand, and I looked it up (because I never heard of it). You even called me (the owner) to discuss. I have the number saved on my phone. And, YES...I tried to have you guys come down to $13000, and the man literally said """"We are already losing $500 on this job."""" But, then...when I found a WAY better deal, with better equipment...now, you were going to come down $2000? I was only asking for $350 decrease from $13,350. I wasn't super impressed with their quote. They talk about """"getting in the attic"""" and doing a """"comprehensive air conditioning check, that includes air flow, etc."""" In reality, it's more about coming into your home...and quoting you their """"best price"""" which apparently is """"losing my boss $500 on this job."""" After realizing they use a generic, terrible system that is made in Korea and they simply add their name to it...I changed my mind. I cancelled the appointment, and somehow...after """"my boss losing $500 on this job"""" they were going to come down another $2000? Honestly, do your research. A big smile and good reviews is ok. I welcome that. But, hassling you on the price and using terrible equipment (there is a reason their warranty is for so long) isn't what I'm looking for in a system that I want to last 20 years. Use Costco. You'll get top of the line equipment and a non-negotiable price. A dual-stage A/C unit, 16 seer (not 14 and single stage) for less money is that I ended up going with.

The receptionist sounds super nice, but it's Wednesday morning and the soonest they can come to even look at my A/C that isn't working is Friday (even though I have pets in the home). So, the positive reviews are great, but it looks like those reviews have made this one too busy to help me. I'll keep looking through Yelp for someone else today....

My husband noticed a puddle of water by our condensation line and eventually got out about 3 gallons of water from under the house. Eek! Not what I wanted to hear. I looked up an A/C place as soon as I heard and had him call the Comfort Authority. We were so happy with their honesty to have him try a few things first to be sure it was actually the A/C that had the issue. Everything pointed to the A/C so they sent Peter out the next day and he took a look at everything and determined there was a leak in the condensation line. He gave us three options to think about, which we decided on replacing the whole line. He was scheduled to come out soon after and completed everything quickly and efficiently. So happy with the experience. Very thankful for the cleanliness - wearing booties in the house, offering to sweep up and how nice the area by our condensation line was. Everything was done impeccably. We will absolutely continue using them for all our A/C needs.

I have had my new AC system more than a year now and have been so happy with the performance. I am really impressed with The Comfort Authority's ongoing relationship with its customers! For example, my family and I were forced to leave town due to the recent Hurricane Irma. Upon return, I noticed one of my AC units wasn't working. I left a late night message with the Comfort Authority. The next morning Steve immediately returned my call! I explained what the situation was and Steve explained what he thought the problem and solution might be. I asked if it was something I could do myself and he walked me through the steps. He also assured me if it didn't work he would get out to fix it later in the day. I tried it but was not successful and had to call Steve back. He was out later that afternoon as promised! Steve had it fixed immediately. He even let me watch what he did and also took the time to explain what he was doing so I might be able to fix it myself in the future. He even checked the other unit to make sure all was well. Here is what separates The Comfort Authority from other AC service companies, he didn't charge me! He said this fix was something that he felt they should do """"on the house"""" to make sure their customers are happy. As stated on my previous review, The Comfort Authority is not your average AC service company. They come in and look to design and install AC systems specifically for your house and your needs. They don't just come in and drop the units in where the previous ones use to be like most other AC companies. They take their time to understand the structure/design of your house, design a system to perform with maximum efficiency, and then install it making the best use of space. I actually gained more attic space after their install. That's not all! They follow up with visits and calls to make sure it is working up to your expectations and will make adjustments if it is not. They truly are not happy unless you are a happy customer. Steve and his crew, in the field and the office, are all just great people! Steve has even called to say hello and see how we are doing since we haven't talked in a while. I don't feel like a customer but more like a friend. One of the best choices I've made, as a home owner, was doing research and finding The Comfort Authority.
