Needed a quote for duct cleaning. Was told it would cost me $160 just to get the quote. My system has no other issues beyond the debris coming out of the vents, but they would not provide a quote without the fee. Not cool...

Comfort Authority provided one of three bids to replace our two aging heat pumps. They were competitive but not the lowest price. We chose them because they were organized, detail oriented and seemed knowledgeable. The sales person itemized everything they would take care of and worked with us to find the system to meet our needs Installers showed up the next day, rolled out mats to keep everything clean and did everything the sales person promised. They sent respectable, polite people so there was no worry about them being alone in the house for a while. Very organized and efficient - recommended!

I married my wife who owned a home for over 25 years with the original A/C system. For the past few years I replaced heat fuses on the exchanger, the exchanger capacitor, and lately the compressor fan motor, run and start capacitors, the compressor contact switch, and finally swallowing my pride, Called Comfort Authority. The guys were great, didn't laugh at my efforts. My career as a repairman with Verizon just made me keep on trying. I've dealt with thousands of customers and sometimes you have to have a talent to work with the public. The Comfort Authority's men were sharp, efficient, informative, and a pleasure to have in our home. The system is working perfectly. From the salesman we met first, to the installers, to their inspector reviewing the installation, you cannot go wrong enlisting this company. Don't put it off, you don't know what you've been missing till you see your new system operating.

I thought I was having a good experience with The Comfort Authority. The service call went okay. But they never could generate an accurate invoice. I kept asking and asking, and eventually they just dropped it, because apparently they couldn't do it. They didn't contact me to tell me they couldn't. They just never sent it. When the back-office functions don't work, it always makes me wonder: If they can't manage the business competently, should I be trusting the work? I don't like that feeling; it doesn't inspire me. I'm not an HVAC expert, so I have to rely on all available information to assess a company. I will NOT be using Comfort Authority again.

I was in the market for a new AC system for my condo and some of my neighbors had used The Comfort Authority and had nothing but great things to say. They were out to complete an estimate within 48 hours and their estimate beat out a few others I had obtained. Work was scheduled extremely quickly, and the installers were here to complete the work within three days of my initial consultation. On the day of install the install team arrived promptly and worked effortlessly to get the job completed timely. We had a couple of hiccups that warranted them coming back the next day, but it was all handled very professionally and promptly. I have recommended this company to my neighbors already and the unit they installed has been working effortlessly for the past couple of weeks.

We've been relying on Comfort Authority for several years now. Their service and responsiveness has always been superb. Living in Florida, we don't want to mess around with our A/C. The latest call involved a backup in one of our lines. Claude W. came out and spent several hours investigating the problem to diagnose the root cause. What stood out was his thoroughness, reviewing all parts of the system to ensure he correctly identified the underlying issue and its solution. I strongly recommend this company.

Buyer beware. Based on all the glowing reviews I called this company because after running my AC there was a fishy odor. The reps were prompt and courteous. There is some slight discoloration on a section of my coils, and they said it was mold. I live in a high-rise condo, and they said my unit was probably infected from another unit in the stack. I asked about cleaning, and they said it wouldn't help. They recommended several options, including a start assist...why would I invest several hundred dollars in an add-on for a unit over 8 years old? They gave me several options to get rid of the smell costing between $2393 and $3258 of a duct air purification unit and UVC sterilization. I declined and called another company for a second opinion. Two hours later the other company said it was probably dust on the coils and the only way to know if it is actually mold is to have it tested. This rep didn't think the UV lights were worth the price. He recommended I start with cleaning the coils with a spray on for about $7 from Home Depot and get a new filter. I bought a new filter and ran the unit for over an hour. That was 2 months ago and there has been NO trace of a smell. The Comfort Authority reps weren't too concerned about the source of the smell, adamantly stated it was mold/bacteria and discounted any type of cleaning. They like to state they are not salespeople, but their only recommendations were for """"investing"""" several hundred or thousands of dollars. It pays to get a second opinion.
