Todd F.Just got through withy appt with Tarpy to check out my heating unit (was just blowing cold air). Overall, very good experience dealing with Tarpy from scheduling to being on time and being friendly and trustworthy. Very good communications (email alert to let me know who my technician would be, a 20 min call in advance from the tech, and good explanation of the fix needed for my heater).
It turned out that the refrigerant in my unit needed to be topped off. Since it is an old unit, the tech needed to use the old stuff which is much more expensive than the new gas (government controlled stuff). He quoted me a price and gave me a few minutes to call a few other shops to compare pricing. The other shops said the pricing was reasonable and to go with Tarpy since the tech was already there.
Richard, the tech was done within 45 min from the time he arrived. My heater is working great now!
Thanks Tarpy, I'll be coming back to you when I need to replace my old equipment.
Had Tarpy come out to replace burned out hot surface ignitor in our furnace. I had a quote from another highly rated Yelp company, but Tarpy's quote was much fairer and I chose them. Technician (Rick) came to my place on time and was done with replacing the part in about 1/2 an hour. he was knowledgeable and polite. Now we have heat working for the first time ina few days - no more freezing in the morning!

Today was our first time using Tarpy and will certainly use them again.
Crystal was professional and courteous when scheduling my appointment and was equally as helpful when I called back the-day-of to change the ""30 minutes before the appointment"" phone number.
Rick was very knowledgeable about our furnace and educated me on some of its finer points. Additionally, he installed the NEST thermostat and trained me on how to use it.
The total installation and fuse-replacing rate was about $50 higher than the ""diagnostic"" rate, but in my opinion it was totally worth it for the peace of mind (I blew the fuse when I attempted to install the NEST and the wires touched). Rick even showed me where the fuse was in case I make another bone head move...
Would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Plus, their rate for a furnace tune up was for batter than the others I called. I would definitely call them again.

Him and his 2 workers showed up right on time and did the job in such a timely manner! His men were knowledgable and nice! The price he estimated was the price he charged us! Since that time a lot of my clients have needed to update their AC in their units. I'm a commercial real estate agent and I got the chance to meet the owner back at my initial install. Since that time this company has done 4 install/updates for my clients and lots of maintenance jobs too. I always get great feedback, which is why I continue to recommend them.
Joe S.I've used Tarpy for air conditioning work for almost 3 years now. I first came across them because my business was required to have air filters changed every quarter by a licensed HVAC contractor. The contractor selected by my property manager charged me $75 for a filter replacement 4 times a year. That seemed like a lot to me for something I could easily do myself. So... I called Tarpy Heating and Air and I just happened to get a hold of the owner Paul. Paul told me he would be happy to become our service provider and he would do it for much less every quarter and just asked me to think of him when I had another HVAC need.
So, Paul or one of his guys have been replacing my filters for 2 years, always discreet and professional. About 2 years later I decided to put AC in the house. I did shop around a bit and Tarpy gave me a great bid. It was a couple hundred more than 2 other shops I talked to, but I knew I could trust this company to do it right and to fix anything that might go wrong without any difficulty (which in my experience is not always easy to find.)
Everything went great with my installation and I've had great use of my AC for the last year until we hit our first hot week in June. My unit stopped working on a hot afternoon, no sound and no movement in the unit. I called Tarpy and talked to Richard who sent out a tech the next morning. Something in the unit had failed under the first heavy use so the tech Adam replaced a small part for me and said that it was such a simple fix that there was no charge to take care of it (Awesome!)
My furnace is about 24 years old and I know I'm gonna have to swap it out this fall or next and I plan on calling Tarpy again.

ConsumerUser B.Since this review was entered as a single star, I left the comment and the owner indirectly contacted me, his name is Paul. He refunded me for the $30 cleaning, that's cool...
As far as the cover that his ""tech"" damaged he wanted to refund me the $95 and I asked him to order a new cover for me, he agreed. There was a definite lack of caring on his part in fact I got the ""we did no wrong feeling"", I don't believe I really got an apology or feeling of one just that he wanted me and him to move on, so the cover came about 3 weeks to a month later in my mail, I put it on and it's fine.
Make your own judgment about these folks, watch them is my suggestion and make sure the job is done RIGHT, BEFORE they leave, I always do this except in this one instance because I thought I could trust Paul's ""tech"" Rick.. He's probably a nice guy no issues there but they also are not authorized Friedrich Air Conditioner Servicers so in that, that might be considered a wash on the whole thing!
I want to do 2.5 start but I can't so I will do 3 to be fair... Anyways its all over now and it's better then what it was after all that I had to go through!

I had my Friedrich Air Conditioner Serviced through them. Rick the tech came out, nice guy no complaints there. Gave him all the screws to the cover etc. and asked for a cleaning and power cord replacement (I provided the replacement cord). He did the cord fine!
The cleaning for $30 was rip off because they don't really clean, they vacuum the metal inside grill and spray something in it, and not much more.
The power cord replacement was $95.
After he left I took the cover off the front and noticed one of the 4 screw holes that holds the cover on was snapped off, screw missing and another screw missing as well. None of this he told me before he left and I called them back and he came out again and put one screw that he provided back it. The one in the frame since it's cracked off is still gone and can't be replaced without replacing the entire cover. My fault for not inspecting it before he left. But I would not recommend them based on this.. You would think he would have told me before he left my house the first time? or made notes in the invoice? Nope!
Paul works really hard to ensure that his customers have a great experience with his company, and that is easy to see after working with him. I chose Tarpy Heating and Air after comparing other companies because of Tarpy's competitive prices. I was very pleased with the installation process and the customer service. The workers were very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, it was outstanding service at great price!
