I had Tarpy out last summer. I saw them at the Fair. My Unit in Scripps Ranch is 36 years old at that time. Technician said it was too close to the
house and would have to be moved. I have turned it on once in 17 years and with cathedral ceilings it took a long time to be effective. He
said I need to replace the furnace in an attic over master closet. I have
never turned it on I said your talking about more than $5000 and he said
Oh yes, way more. I said no way. I saw a house being remodeled around the corner the beginning of this year and they put the new unit
very close to the house and facing the street (great curb appeal). I had
another company come out just now and he said since my unit is already
there, does not have to be moved. Restrictions are only for new construction. He just gave me a estimate for $4,500 using my heater
and adding a new coil. This includes installation of a New Efficient Air
conditioning unit.

I called Tarpy Plumbing based on Yelp reviews. I needed all new drainage pipes, garbage disposal, and dishwasher installed in a remodeled kitchen. Larissa scheduled an appointment for a quote with a two hour window, saying the tech would call when on the way. They were a no show and no one called me so I called the office. Larissa put me on hold while she contacted the tech and came back saying the tech got held up on a very large install. No apology was given but she said their techs can be hard to reach and asked if I wanted to reschedule. After expressing my disapprovaI, I did reschedule. Again they were a no show without any notification. When I called the office, Larissa had the same excuse as before. Their tech got held up on a large job. I indicated my extreme dissatisfaction at having taken off work twice and not even receiving the courtesy of a phone call when they couldn't make the appointment. Larissa asked if I wanted to reschedule saying she would understand if I just wanted to cancel. I told her I would absolutely not be using their company and didn't know how they could have a 4.5 star Yelp rating. Not until I said I would be posting my own Yelp review did she offer to have a manager call me. Brock, the company President left a voice mail the next day (while I was at work) saying this was unacceptable, not how they do business and that he wanted to do something to take care of me. I called back the following day but he was out of the office. So, I left a message with Larissa but never heard back from Brock. I won't spend any more time trying to track down someone at a company who doesn't value my time and doesn't offer the courtesy of phone follow up. My lost wages could have paid for the plumbing work I needed.

I am so happy right now. My a/c stopped working yesterday and today I started yelping a/c contractors for repair. Many replied to my yelp request. Tarpy was the only company that could come out today. Nicholas from Tarpy was here within several hours of my request. He was masked up, polite and professional.

I knew my a/c unit was old and possibly on it's last legs but Nicholas recommended a fix that I am certain saved me thousands of dollars. He taught me a few things about a/c units that I did not know which can greatly help in reducing that dammed SDG&E bill.

I know that my unit will need replacement before next summer. Duct work and insulation probably needs inspection as well. I know what I will be giving myself for Christmas this year. I'll call Nicholas and tell him it's time to upgrade.

Tarpy is fantastic. I booked them, and the technician, Cody, was really kind, accommodating, and did everything he could to make sure my problem was fixed, along with wearing his mask and shoe coverings. I laughed - I think his shoes had to have been cleaner than my tile floor! He'll be coming back this week to finalize things (yeah...a few more problems than anticipated...) which *may* result in me getting a new AC unit (due to mine being nearly 20 years old and I'm pretty much putting on Band-Aids at this point.) Cody explained everything in detail, showed me photos of the problems, and I feel better knowing I have some options. And he realistically prioritized them for me.

Tarpy is willing to see what they can do to help me figure out the most cost-effective, long-term solution that will work for me - and keep us cool in the summer heat...and beyond. Much appreciated.

Due to the Pandemic, I lost my job of 15 years and we came to the painful realization that we needed to sell our dream home in San Marcos, CA. and leave the state for a less expensive location. During the process, the buyers inspector flagged several deficiencies in our Water Heater and dishwasher's installation, so I needed a reputable and licenced plumber to come in, appraise, and correct the deficiencies. I looked on YELP and Tarpy was one of the highest recommended there. I got a quick response from my inquiry, and the same day Thomas Fitzgerald came out. He wore a mask, quickly and professionally appraised the issues discussed, quoted a fair price and efficiently made the repairs. Thomas was friendly, polite, professional, tidy and efficient. He showed up promptly at the time discussed and made the repairs at the price discussed with no ""hidden"" add ons. Well done sir! If I wasn't leaving the state, you would be my first call next time. I wish all my vendors were this professional!

8 years ago, we were in desperate need of a new system in a house we had just purchased. We met with Paul Tarpy who provided a very competitive bid and we contracted with them for a new system, including new ducting. We were pleased because he cold have tried to take advantage of our near desperation but instead remained competitive. We've been happy with the system and often called on Tarpy for annual services. A few years back, we did have a bump in the road which left a very bad impression for us and we utilized other companies for a year or two for the services. Those companies were overall NOT as attentive as most of the Tarpy folks, so we decided we wanted to work with them again as we needed a ""tune up"" to ensure all was in good working order for the summer, so we called Tarpy for the job.

The sent Nick G. out and we could not be happier with the service!! He also assured us the issues we had with a former technician or two have been resolved. If Nick is any indication of the people Tarpy is hiring, they've hit a home run! Nick was a bit late due a previous job running over, but he called to apologize and let us know when he was on his way. He arrived in mask & booties and set to work. He explained several things I had questions about and provided estimates on small mini split systems and also on some insulation work. Nick is the person I will now always recommend and ask for! As with all these companies these days, there's some salesmanship going on, but Nick was polite, didn't overly push anything, and provided me options, all things I appreciate and look for when working with a company! Nick's methods also ensure I will be calling Tarpy back for the other things I need and for my service needs! Well done Nick!
