We are so much happier with this furnace. It replaced a Trane furnace that was only 13 years old. We don't think it was ever installed correctly (by a different San Diego heating and air company). It was so loud, and the house never seemed very warm. This furnace is so much quieter and by keeping the fan on low - very quiet - all the time, the house is much more comfortable. We originally had Tarpy Heating and air out for our annual service. They discovered the furnace had locked itself out because it was not working correctly. It could have exposed us to carbon monoxide. They advised us to not use it until repaired or replaced. The Heating contractor tech from Tarpy immediately put together some quotes and options for a new furnace vs fixing the Trane. Once we decided to replace it with the Carrier, Tarpy jumped right on it. They worked late on a Friday to complete the installation, since otherwise we wouldn't have had heat over the weekend. Thank goodness! Immediately after installation, the overnight temperatures dipped into the teens. Our new furnace kept us warm. Wonderful! Thanks so much.

We just recently moved to and live in a rental home. The first San Diego heating contractor I called wouldn't even come out to the house without meeting with the landlord. Since he lives out of state that meant NO Service! I was very happy when I called Tarpy and they treated me the same as they would have if I owned the home myself.

Chris was great and quickly did an inspection and then took the time to explain what he found. He was happy to replace the furnace filter with one I had on hand, a job I should have done myself. Our outdoor cooling system had a wire that just hung off the unit which was nicked and cracked and covered with electrical tape from previous patch jobs. Chris showed me that even some copper wire was exposed. He also explained the capacitor problem in terms that I could understand and then quickly took care of both problems for me.

Since I come from a cooler climate I probably will use my air conditioning more than most people in the area and I am happy to know it is good for another year. I believe that not only did I get good service but protection from bigger problems in the future. I will definatley use Tarpy Plumbing for my future service needs.

Resolved a problem that started as the kitchen sink being backed up which led lead to water coming out of the release valve on the exterior of my home and finally, caused water to come POURING out of the back side of my washing machine. They cleaned the pipes that were connected in these three places and also checked and cleaned a shower drain that could have been connected to the same pipe line.

As you can imagine, I was very concerned when water was gushing out of the back of my washing machine. I knew about the sink problem, but thought we had resolved it the night before with draino. After calling 2 different plumbers to find out if they could come to my house immediately (to no avail), I found Tarpy Plumbing. I ended up speaking directly with the owner (Paul). He was super nice and told me he would have someone call me right back to schedule an appointment. 30 seconds later, my phone was ringing! They told me they could have someone over in an hour and they arrived when promised. The 2 men were professional, friendly, and hard-working. They immediately got down to business and knew exactly what was wrong. They asked me questions which came from a proactive curiosity rather than simply trying to rack up the bill! I will definitely call them with ALL my plumbing needs.

I'm not very good with names, but I believe it was Lloyd who helped us out, thank you to him!! We needed the tank replaced due to a slow leak. Tank was replaced in less than one hour and Lloyd was great he explained what to be watchful of and to keep an eye on our regulator because it may need replacing in the next couple of years. Very polite and courteous! Great job and left the garage cleaner than he found it! Thank you Tarpy Plumbing!

I have a house built in 1940 which had no ducting system. The are also additional rooms which have no attic, making it a challenge to design and build a ducted heating/cooling system.

When John came out to inspect my project, he listened to my ideas about how to deliver air to the add-on rooms, and agreed it might work. He didn't offer the lowest bid, but he seemed to offer excellent customer service, so I hired the company to install all new ducting, a furnace in the attic, and a compressor/condenser unit outside.

When the installers showed up, they tried to follow my initial idea but ran into roadblocks which made it impossible to go they way I originally thought we would. They came up with innovative solutions and eventually got the job done, leaving massive holes in the walls where the ducts ""might"" have been run.

Then they sent Mauricio to fix things up and build a box to enclose all that ugly ducting. He did a fantastic job, never hurried, always took the time to get it right.

I live in an old house and have had problems with bathrooms not draining properly for years. Finally bit the bullet and had them completely replace the pipes. they were nasty and the team had to tunnel under the house. they arrived on time, cleaned up each night, were exceptionally polite and completely cleaned up after themselves before leaving. It was a 5 day job -so I cannot tell you how pleased I was at how they worked to be nonintrusive, to explain each day what they were doing and the next steps. Not a cheap job, but I think it was a job well done and that will allow me another 50 years of a well performing bathroom!

From bid to estimate to arriving on time for the job to finishing when they said they would to cleaning up and beyond. Where dirt had gotten on a fence when they dug, they washed the fence down before they left. They even put some of the dirt into a flower box for me when they didn't have to do that. Great company to work with overall.

Thanks agin guys!!!

We called 3 different plumbing companies that were all highly rated on Yelp and charged no fees for estimates. We had a small amount of flooding in our front yard due to a leaky/broken pipe near the water meter.

Plumbing company #1: They came out and took a look at the problem. We were told there was no way to know what the exact problem was and they were going to have to trouble shoot and possible do quite a bit of digging. Their estimate was $1509 with cautions that it could be higher if there were more problems than expected.

Plumbing company #2: They came out and began to use a ShopVac to clear the water from the water meter area to determine the problem. After about 10-15 minutes they decided the leak was under the sidewalk and therefore would not be able to help us until the next day. They quoted us $1000-$1400.

Plumbing company #3: Ted from Tarpy Plumbing came out, turned on the water and within a few seconds put a stick in the grass and said ""the leak is right there"". I was surprised he seemed so sure since I had just heard two other companies tell me they either didn't know or that it was under the sidewalk. Ted said, ""I have been doing this for 30 years, I guarantee you it is within a couple inches of that spot"". Ted proceeded to write up an estimate of $545 plus $30 materials. He told me it was a flat fee and would not cost us a dime more even if it took them 2 days to do the job. With that assurance, I signed the estimate.

Ted found the leak (and it was right where he said it was and NOT under the sidewalk) and he fixed the leak within about 45 minutes including the time it took him to go to the store to get parts. He was careful to cut the grass where he dug and put the grass right back over the area after he filled the hole back in. I was highly impressed that Ted was able to quickly diagnose and fix our problem. I told Ted about the other company telling us the problem was under the sidewalk. He laughed and told us even if the problem had been under the sidewalk it wouldn't have cost us a dime more because he would have just 1) dug two holes on either side, 2) cut the pipe on both sides, 3) slid the pipe out, 4) put a new pipe through the hole, and 5) use new connectors to connect the new pipe to the existing pipes. A solution that required no digging under the sidewalk at all. I was amazed....yes, work smarter, not harder! I would recommend skipping the other guys can call Tarpy....ask for Ted!

Scheduling...flawless. They called ahead 15 minutes before scheduled window and said they were coming. Arrived on time, clean and professional guys. Very nice and knowledgeable. I'm not going to lie,I had some sticker shock. My choices were to replace the whole control unit or the entire water heater. Note-he did NOT try the big up sale for new units but he did not quote a price for just fixing what was broken either. At the end of the day I was ok with that because I already knew what the reliability of that particular system was. 2 identical failures 2 months apart on 2 separate units. They drained the tank and replaced the units. The whole thing took about 3 hours total and that was because they had to go get the parts. Overall, with the 2-yr warranty on the control system and the professionalism of the guys doing the work I feel comfortable with the transaction. It wasn't cheap, but everything was quoted up front and there were no attempts to push add-ons which I am happy about. Would use them again but might compare prices first. Great response time though. Quality company.

I had a leak in my upstairs master bath and they determined the cause. The plumber thoroughly checked the leak and were able to positively determine that it was not the plumbing itself but the shower basin. Since it was not the plumbing the repair was not part of the deal. I was completely satisfied with the diligence with which they worked to find the cause.

Tarpy plumbing showed up when promised and even called shortly before arrival to make sure we knew exactly when to expect them. They cut a smallish whole in the ceiling to discover the source leak. Then, they tested the pluming for pressure leaks and found none. They went on to test and evaluate for 1 hour. Upon departure they thought (but were not convinced) that the issue was a calking issue and calked what they thought was the problem.

When they left I made another apt for later in the week to have them install a garbage disposal as my old one stopped working. When they came back the second time they installed the disposal quickly and revisited the leak problem as it was still an issue. They performed some additional plumbing repair testing (ran the shower for over 30 minutes) and became confident that the shower basin was the cause. In the end they spent roughly 2 hours checking for the leak and 30 minutes replacing the disposal.

The price wasn't the cheapest but I feel I was treated properly. Overall they there thorough, professional and polite. The only thing the plumbers could have done better was to do it all cheaper. The plumber named Dave came on both visits and he was extremely polite and friendly. If and when I call Tarpy plumbing again I plan to ask for him specifically.

I called another HVAC company in Temecula to come out and fix my furnace. It's a company I had used in the past (but will never use again). This was the third time they had been out, and now I am convinced that the reason is because they had broken a terminal on my limiter switch, and didn't tell me.

Anyway, after spending 4 hours trying to find the switch, for which he was going to charge me $700, the repairman from the other company told me that I need a new furnace, because my heat exchanger was cracked in four places. I thanked him and sent him on his way.

I decided to call Tarpy Heating to see if they could come out. They had someone out the very next morning. Lloyd took the time to remove my heat exchanger (he said the other company did not pull it out, BTW) and we inspected it to see that it was in nearly perfect shape. Then he reassembled the furnace.

The part was in town, and the whole repair and replacement of the part cost $269!! The complete process was filled with professionalism, cordiality and concern from everyone at Tarpy heating and air. I highly recommend Tarpy for any HVAC work you might need done. They rock!
