Superior replaced an ancient, clay sewer line to my 100 year old home in Decatur. They used their excavator in an incredibly tight area, without damaging anything. It was a tough job, but Superior performed brilliantly. Cannot recommend them enough for any plumbing needs.

In order to replace a counter in my girlfriend's rental unit I had to remove the sink and garbage disposal, which was hard-wired at the time. When I tried to put the old disposal back in I could not quite twist the ring that holds it on. What should have been a 30 second operation became a major frustration, so I finally asked her to call a plumber. She called Superior. (""""Trust Dale"""" certified....I need to do a whole different review of them...) Superior explained that they have a flat fee for everything they do and the plumber would go over it when he arrived, but they did tell her that there would be a $37.50 trip charge/dispatch fee. OK, come on out. This was a simple re-install. The plumbing and electrical were already done, he just needed to mount the actual disposal, re-attach the original drain, and plug it in. (we had an outlet installed and a cord put on the formerly hard-wired unit) I figured an experienced plumber could handle it in under 15 minutes. We expected to pay maybe $100.00, tops. He quoted $280.00!! (which included the trip charge) In my wildest dreams I never imagined it could possibly cost that much, so I called Superior myself. They will NOT quote prices on the phone. There is a good reason for this. They know that when you hear their price you will freak out and call someone else. Once the plumber is on site, he can intimidate you into accepting the ridiculous charge. (Home Depot's folks will do it for $99.00, if that gives you any comparison.) I called to complain about the ridiculously high rate and they said we should tell the tech on site to call his manager and perhaps they could work out a better rate. The tech said he had done that and $280.00 was THE price. Bye bye. We wasted $37.50, but perhaps this review will help keep someone else from getting screwed. Have you noticed a common theme in these Reviews? Ridiculously high rates..... You have been warned, but probably won't be reading these Reviews until after you have experienced the Superior Sticker Shock. Trust Dale: After we almost got reamed by Superior I contacted Trust Dale. Dale Caldwell was, I believe, a local consumer reporter who has cashed in Big Time on his reputation. Within a few minutes I got a reply that seemed to be a """"cut and paste"""" form letter for anyone who complained about Superior. It espoused how wonderful they were, certified, drug tested, yadda, yadda, yadda and could the cheaper plumber pass their Test, etc. I told them I thought the whole Trust Dale thing was a huge conflict of interest. BTW: Thee are two listings for Superior (at the same address) on this site and one had a much lower over-all rating....

We brought my 87 year old mother home from 2 months in the hospital Saturday to find that a downstairs closet had flooded. Her house is over 50 years old. After calling a couple of other plumbers only to get a voice mail, I called Superior. A human answered, and Paul was at her door in a flash. Once he discovered the problem, he got Justin to come work on the cast iron pipe in the ceiling and he got to fixing the upstairs tub fixtures that had been leaking. They were nice, professional and even cleaned up after. I own my own business and Superior treats their customers the way I want my employees to treat ours. Superior is truly Superior!

Highly overpriced. $37.50 dispatch fee plus $160 """"Flush out hot n cold Line at k/s faucet"""" fee, and they didn't even fix my problem! I am a DIY guy, I do my own plumbing work and call in the professionals when I get in over my head. I recently rearranged the plumbing for my dishwasher and suddenly the kitchen faucet was running with low pressure; sediment in the pipes had been disturbed and was now clogging the faucet. All of my troubleshooting efforts turned up nothing but I knew it was blockage somewhere in the faucet itself. So I called Superior and explained the situation. The plumber they sent was knowledgeable and friendly but he also could not fix the problem. So $200 later I am no closer to fixing the problem. He basically did all of the troubleshooting steps I had already done (and explained to them already over the phone), so what did I pay for? Obviously they need compensation for their time but this seems like such a simple job! He didn't even think to look inside the faucet itself, I had to disassemble it myself in front of him to show that the cartridge wasn't clogged. At that point his only recommendation was to replace the faucet.

Superior repaired a master shower drain that was leaking and damaging the living room ceiling on 4/29/14 at a cost of $187. It is now leaking again and destroying the living room ceiling. I called and was informed they only warranty their service for 1 year and I would need to pay for the service again. The repair should have been done correctly the first time and should last well past 1 year. Can't use master shower and will have to find another plumber. And best part, have the ceiling repaired again.

I've used Superior before and was generally pleased, but I had a water leak in my basement on Sunday that needed immediate attention. I called Superior but they said they don't send plumbers out on Sunday. I was shocked, of course. So I called another plumber and they had a guy out to my house within a couple hours. Quick fix and I'm thrilled. Goodbye Superior.

Warning! This company charges a trip fee AND an excessively high job fee. I will never use this company again due to their extremely high prices. My plumbing job turned out to take about 10 minutes to fix and required a dime's worth of caulk. Yet I was charged $161.00 for the work and $37.00 for the trip fee. Exorbitant! By charging a trip fee their strategy clearly is to make you feel trapped, so that you have to surrender to their high prices. If I let them go at the point that he quoted a price, I would already be $37.50 in the hole and would still have a leak. I would have been stuck with that expense, plus still having a leak, plus needing to find another plumber, and probably have to wait another day. So, given that, we gave in and let him finish the job. I had no idea it would take just a few minutes to fix making me feel even more ripped off.

THOSE PORTABLE TOILETS ARE THE BOMB!!! I have to give a """"shout out"""" to Superior for always providing the portable facilities for the local Kennesaw festivals. I really appreciate this because these are full service facilities with multiple stalls and sinks for men and women. To top it off, these rooms are air conditioned and this is so important because it is usually very hot during the summer festivals. They don't just pull up to the festival site and drop these off on the designated spot. They are always fully attended and are impeccably clean. Their attendants are always very helpful and accommodating when lines form or direction is needed. Although I tend to carry germicide with me, there is no substitute for soap and water! Thank you Superior!

Waited more than one year to make certain not to overreact. But, being a business owner for more than 35 years myself, honesty and integrity are first and foremost. They're the """"educated plumber"""" all right....educated in misdiagnosing the problems and then fleecing the customer.... In May of 2014, we had a problem with sewage backing up into our basement. Fortunately, it was a tiny bit but we certainly didn't want it to get worse. So we called """"The Educated Plumbers"""". They send one of their """"supervisors"""", Jimmy, to our home. He immediately tells us that the problems is two 20 years old magnolia trees have sunk their roots into the drain going to the sewer line on West Paces Ferry. They will need to bring in a backhoe, etc. to get to the line as it is over 15 feet below the surface. AND, we will need to have the magnolias removed in order for them to get the equipment in. What was really interesting at the time was Jimmy taking a leaf of the trees, biting into the leaves and saying that he """"could taste the stuff"""" the trees were pulling from the sewer line in the leaves. There was his proof of the blockage. Being in a panic to get the line repaired BEFORE there was major backup in our home, we had to contact the city for permission to remove the trees and then get a tree service to remove them. The tree service costs about $1,000. And, Superior had quoted us about $3000 to do all of the work. We paid them roughly $750 (later refunded) for them to run a sewer camera, etc. in advance of the beginning of the work... Without going into a lot of additional detail, suffice it to say that when I mentioned the situation to a friend in the commercial real estate business, I was told 1) Magnolia trees have roots that spread BUT DO NOT GO BELOW 3-5 FEET in Depth. Obviously, that could not have been the problem. 2) Superior really did not have any idea of the issue since their diagnosis using the """"sewer-cam"""" did not show any blockage. 3) My friend recommended another plumber who came to the home, looked at the situation, and then OPENED TWO OF THE MANHOLE COVERS ON OUR STRRET IN BUCKHEAD AND FOUND THE MAIN SEWER LINE UNDER THE STREET WAS THE PROBLEM!!! He called the City of Atlanta. They send a truck and """"push the blockage through"""" and everything has been fine ever since!! Superior did refund the deposit I paid but refused to reimburse me for the tree removal or for the expense to replace the trees a required by the City... These guys are seriously only interested in your money, not your satisfaction..

I wish had looked these guys up on Yelp prior to calling. A few months ago, we moved into a new house and I needed a shut off valve installed for a new dryer pronto. The price was outrages but with everything else I had to deal with moving into a new house and not liking to mess with gas and needing to wash my clothes, and I figured for that price, it would at least be done right. I told the guy where the gas enters the house and he stated he wouldn't need to mess with that. I told him I didn't want the whole house smelling like gas. 'It won't' he said. Ten minutes later I walk downstair and am hit in the face by the smell of gas. In his defense the gas detector in the next room did not go off and the smell dissipated after 30 minute or so, so I am sure it was safe whatever he did. I found that the cut off valve had extended the pipe to the point where now the dryer has barely enough room to open its door, he could have mentioned that maybe given some alternatives prior to install, but he did not. Then he messed with the ventilation duct a minute, got it attached but still a mess, called me over and said 'I want to point this out to you, you might to do something about this duct'. And then I found out the price he quoted didn't include the 40$ trip charge. Next he insisted on quoting me for a new hot water heater while he was there, and stood there trying to scare my wife the the thing is about to blow up its so old, and quoted a price that was 50% higher than the Home Depot charges for their most expensive, higher capacity, internet enabled water heater installed. So now I am stuck with dryer in an awkward place and it only cost almost as much as the dryer itself to get the cut off valve installed. So much for getting it done right. Two stars instead of one because they did respond within a few hours of calling, and their has been no leaks or gas smells in the few months it has been installed.
