Carl G. Stuart founded Stuart Electric, Inc. in the year 1956. The initial electrical contracting performed by Carl, along with one partner, involved setting up circuits for air conditioners purchased from major appliance retailers.

In 1991, Jude G. Raspino, Jr. initiated discussions with Mr. Stuart, and on April 22nd, 1991, the agreement were signed. Since then, Jude and his team have dedicated themselves to establish Stuart Electric, Inc., now Stuart Services, as a top provider in the home service industry of Greater New Orleans.

In 2001, Stuart Electric Inc. became Stuart Services LLC, expanding air conditioning and heating services to our established electrical and home generator divisions. In May 2008, we introduced our Plumbing department, achieving our vision of being a complete provider for all home repair needs.

I think most of the reviews here are probably accurate: some of the staff can be very friendly (especially the scheduler/office staff). I've gotten two estimates from Stuart and used them only the first time, as not having A/C around July 4th isn't really an option. Both times, the prices were astronomical. After my second quote for service, I found a well-rated local Plumber to do what Stuart quoted at $2300 for about $1500. Stuart didn't give me any options as to size, volume, or brand for my water heater, and the price for install and some code requirements was tremendous. Assuming it's never urgent or dire, I don't think I'll be using them again.

Scheduled an appointment on Thursday for Saturday service. Left cell phone number and was told I would receive a call and an e-mail as the second scheduled appointment. Waited until 10 am and called to check status. Plumber returned call and said he decided to move to emergency calls. No e-mail or call received on the number I left when I scheduled the appointment. Do not let the 5 star reviews fool you - this company is no dependable.

I had a water leak, unaware of where the leak was coming from. I believed it to be from behind my dishwasher. The technician looked at it and assured me that that is where the leak was coming from. Before she started the job I showed her I had a hot spot in my kitchen and believed the leak could be coming from there. She said it is part of the problem and she would fix the other leak I had. She drilled holes, which are bigger than should be. And ""fixed the leak"". Once she turned the water back on the water was still leaking. It did not slow down any, and had me worried. I spent $775 for them to fix my leak and they did not fix them problem. I had another plumber come out from a different company to fix the leak. They made sure to figure out exactly where the leak was coming from before doing any work to the house. They found the problem and fixed it. They saw what Stuart services had done and told me that the leak was never coming from that area and that any good plumber should have known better. They also told me the whole cut in the walls should never have looked the way they do. After all is said and done I try to contact someone from Stuart services. It has been going on for about 3 weeks now and no one will contact me on the problem I have had. I would never recommend them and will never use them again.

We had Stuart Services out in July to check our AC as it started blowing hot air. They were able to schedule next day service to check it out. The technician that arrived was on time, polite and explained the issues he thought were causing the problem. The technician serviced our AC that day (freon added and outside unit cleaned) and got it blowing cool air. We knew it would only be temporary as it had a leak and needed the coil replaced.

One month later, it starts blowing hot again so I call to schedule service for a new coil. This was on a Thursday. I was told the earliest they could do it would be Monday at 8:30 - 9:00 am. So much for quick service scheduling. I wasn't thrilled since we have a 5 month old baby and the heat index is in the triple digits, but what are you gonna do, right? So I accepted that time and date.

Monday rolls around and Stuart Services calls at 8:20 am to let me know the tech would be at our house in 45 mins to an hour. He showed up an hour later at 9:20 am. Then the single technician (maybe send more than one for a job that takes this long in the middle of summer) worked alllllllll day to replace the coil. In the afternoon, I was advised that the supply guys gave the tech the wrong drainage pan so he had to leave to get the correct one. More delay to get our system blowing cold air.

We were not kept very well informed of what was going on while the tech was in and out of the house working. We were not given an estimate of how long it would take to complete. Hindsight is 20/20 so I should have asked when I scheduled the job. The technician finally left our house at 6:30 pm and at 7:00 pm the thermostat reads 82 degrees.

Overall, I am very dissatisfied with the amount of time and lack of information in relation to having the coil replaced. For the amount of money we paid service with scheduling, expediency replacing parts, and being informed about the process was dismal.

Service was scheduled between 12:00 and 4:00. At 10 min. to 4 o'clock called to say they can't come. Wasted a whole day waiting. Pretty unprofessional for the most expensive electricians in the area. Will try another company next time.

They advertise 24 hour service and that phones will be answered by a person at all times. I called at 11pm about a broken water line, had to leave a message on a recorder, and no one returned my call until 9am the next morning. Sewerage and Water Board showed up faster than they returned my call.

My boyfriend called them, On a Monday,as we needed a faucet change, before a guest arrived on Wednesday,on an old claw footed tub. He was unable to remove it, himself . Using the faucet he purchased , changing the two feeds to the faucet ,with brass and galvanized fixtures, less than ten inches worth of pipe and an hour's labor ,in addition to a mess left behind, the plumber charged $789. This caused unnecessary strife, between my partner and myself . This was an outrageous cost-My suggestion here, would be to Never say you need something done in a hurry-this is a clear example how businesses take advantage , when there is a time crunch.
