I recommeded Streamline Plumbing and Sewer Replacement to a friend of mine who needed their sewer replaced. Just as I promised they did an outstanding job. They even gave them a referral discount which they didn't expect. The other estimate they recieved from another plumber was much higher. Just as they had with me Greg the estimator explained everything in detail, the crew showed up when they said they would, finished the job in one day and left everything tidy. I'm glad I had the opportunity to recommend them and will continue to do so. It's so refreshing when you find such great service and a company you can trust.

Streamline did a great job for us last week. We learned that our 80+ year old sewer line needed to be replaced - all 120 feet of it. After receiving several estimates, we decided to go with Streamline after checking our their Yelp reviews and also contacting some of their reviewers, who confirmed that Streamline is indeed the way to go!

They showed up on time, did their work quickly and efficiently, handled the entire permit process with the city of Oakland (yep, you need a permit to do this kind of work) and generally did a terrific job for us.

The only part I didn't like - which certainly wasn't Streamline's fault, was having to hand over $843 to the city of Oakland to pay for permits, application fee, inspection fees, etc. WTH is a ""technology enhancement fee"" and why did it cost me $19? Grr.

I'm pretty happy with Streamline. They just finished (yesterday) doing a trenchless sewer line replacement for us. This is a pretty big job, involving digging a large hole in the middle of the street (where the main sewer line is) and a smaller hole in our yard where the ""clean out"" for our lateral sewer line is.

Here are the criteria I used to rate Streamline:

1. Greg Martin, the owner, showed up to do the quote exactly when he said he would.
2. The quote was $1,020 less than the other quote we had. Greg had no idea of what the other quote was nor that we even had another quote. He was able to come up with his quote within minutes. I suspect that was based on long experience and knowing exactly what's involved in this work, including conditions here in Fremont.
3. Greg told us that his company has done more than 10,000 of these trenchless sewer replacements. Now that they've finished the work, I fully believe that.
4. The crew showed up exactly when scheduled to do this two-day job and finished a little earlier than scheduled.
5. Overall, they were relatively neat, considering how much digging and dirt was involved.
6. Two days prior to the start of the work, they were already preparing the site (marking where the digging would be, etc.). One day prior to start, they got the permits from the city of Fremont.
7. Greg is good about communicating.
8. I was also struck by the fact that Greg is the type of person who trusts you. I've found that people who trust you (within reason, of course) are also the type of people you can trust. Paranoid people are too often people who know you should be paranoid about them.

The only only concern I had was the paperwork:
- There is nothing on the quote / contract about a warranty.
- Within the fine print on the back of the form, ""Terms and Conditions,"" there are quite a few typos and contradictions. It's important if problems occur that everything be clear and set out in writing so that there are no misunderstandings. It's just as much for the benefit of the company as it is for the homeowner.
*Here's the good part of the above and it shows the kind of man Greg Martin is: When I brought these things up with Greg, he quickly told me that there is a 10-year transferable warranty on the labor. The parts are covered under the manufacturers' warranty. He also said that he knows there are typos, etc. and that he plans to get those corrected when the forms are re-printed. Greg told me to write in ""10 Year Warranty"" on the quote/contract and that he would sign it. I did that and he seemed more than happy to sign it. I made sure he got a copy of the signed quote/contract.

Overall, I'd recommend Streamline Plumbing and Underground Construction to anyone. I believe this company and its owner, Greg Martin, are trustworthy and competent. That's high praise from me!

Streamline Plumbing is great! I feel lucky to have found them for my sewer line replacement and am sure you will be as satisfied if you use them.

Greg, the senior estimator, is great. Very knowledgeable, patient, no hassle, and honest. The trenchless sewer line replacement was done promptly with excellent quality. He also made sure the proof of inspection sign-off by district was mailed to me.

I haven't had such wonderful experience with services for very long time. Highly recommend Streamline.

We required a major sewer replacement and Streamline did a great job.

Greg explained what was needed and made sure I understood. He coordinated with other contractors to make sure that our business tenants would be up and running as soon as possible. Greg went above and beyond when he personally went to the job site - after the sewer work was completed - to pinch hit for another contractor so that our tenants could reopen their business.

The job required City inspections and approvals and Greg made sure that we passed with flying colors. Greg continually kept me updated as the job progressed - I always knew what was going on.

I always felt Greg's commitment to getting the job done right and quickly.

I wholeheartedly recommend Streamline Plumbing and Greg Martin.

We hired Streamline after they gave us a very reasonable estimate for replacing our sewer lateral. They actually gave us two estimates--a lower one if they didn't have to do some additional work which they would only find out when they were doing the work, and a higher one if they had to do that additional work.

The work was done well and in a very timely manner and when we got the bill we were very pleased to discover that they were only billing us for the lesser amount. We have no complaints whatsoever. They were very professional and we saved a considerable amount of money compared to other estimates we received. Unlike another reviewer here we received a copy of the requisite certification with our bill.We are very happy with the service we received.

No one wants to buy a new sewer. Other than the cost, the worst part is wondering if you are getting a good job at a good price. Streamline just replaced my sewer, and as a former plumber I have nothing but good things to say about their work and their price. For a job like this there is no ""market price"", you will get estimates that vary by 200-400%. Streamline beat all the other guys' prices and handled the plumbing work and the business end very professionally. Greg's ""no problem"" attitude made the whole experience easier, and their crew worked like a well trained army. It's obvious that they do a lot of these trenchless sewers and are good at it. In San Leandro the homeowner is responsible for their sewer all the way down to the city main in the middle of the street. I live on a street where one by one they're all needing replacement. I'm going to see to it that my neighbors all know about Streamline and how they came through for me with their price, competence, and service.

Having our sewer replaced was a bit daunting; it is a big job and is costly (though not as much as I had heard). However, we had roots at eight different places, so it needed to be done. We had reached the point of three clean-outs in less than three months, and we never knew when there would be a backup (usually at the most inopportune time). After considerable research and multiple quotes, I went with Streamline Plumbing, Castro Valley. They really know what they are doing, and there is no substitute for knowledge and experience. The crew was professional, did an excellent job (the street repair was exemplary), cleaned-up well, and finished five minutes earlier than expected. In addition, the quote was very competitive. The owner, Greg, answered all my questions, and I am sure that if there were ever a problem, he would make it right. I highly recommend Streamline Plumbing for trenchless sewer replacements. It is my understanding that they have done over 10,000 of them, and it shows.

We are extremely happy with Greg Martin and his team at Streamline Plumbing. We have hired them to replace (and partially re-route) our sewer lateral. Greg came out to do the estimate in a very timely manner, making a specific appointment. He answered my husband's questions professionally, with detailed, knowledgeable answers (my husband is a retired general contractor, and knows when he's hearing good answers). The estimate was very reasonable, and included clean-up and all permits and inspections. Greg saw that we were in the middle of other construction work and arranged to do our job right away. The crew is incredibly hardworking and capable.

In sum, we are very pleased. After a long day for the crew the sewer is completely replaced, passing all inspections and they will be back in the morning for the final cleanup.

Thank you!

A special thank-you to Greg and the Streamline crew for an outstanding job on replacing my broken sewer line. Greg and the crew were so patient in answering all my questions (which I had a lot).

I was so very impressed with the wonderful team work and hard-working crew, for their dedication and time spent in pleasing the homeowner.

Thanks Streamline for an A++ job. I will definitely recommend your company to everyone I know.
