Recommended Customer Reviews

Strand brothers is a complete and utter scam. My partner and I have had an incredibly disappointing experience with Strand Brothers, even though we're "priority members". Their incompetence was evident from the start, and it seems like their unethical practices are a standard operating procedure based on almost every yelp review. Their service was nothing short of horrible; it left us questioning their professionalism and integrity. I strongly advise against choosing them for any service needs. And DON'T bother with their customer service, that's another scam.

AB came out-was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Pointed out what needed to be done.
I WILL be using Strand in the future as well!

What a scam. I bought a brand new Lennox a/c unit from Strand Brothers in April of 2022 for $13,100 and paid an extra yearly fee for the extended warranty and for the "Priority + Membership." I have regularly changed the filters and had Strand come out twice yearly to inspect and maintain the unit. Now, less than 2 years after installation, the unit is not working and I called for service. When they arrived, they stated that before they would look at the unit, I had to pay an $82 "diagnostic fee." The Priority+ Membership I paid extra for specifically states "No Trip Charges - EVER." (their capitalization). When I pointed this out to the service technician, he stated that the Trip Charge is separate from the Diagnostic Fee (as if anyone would ever want a service technician to come out to their home and not diagnose the problem.) He called his manager, who refused to waive the diagnostic fee. So, apparently they normally charge a Trip Charge and a separate Diagnostic Fee before they even look at your unit. This is a highly misleading business practice. Nowhere on the paperwork for the Priority + service plan does it explain that customers will still be responsible for paying a "Diagnostic Fee" every time a technician comes to inspect a unit. I paid the fee. They told me that the blower motor has failed and stated that it was probably my fault for not changing the filters regularly. I refuted that, as I have religiously changed my filters and told him to look at them himself. He then agreed that they were only slightly dirty and that it did not appear that they were past due for a change. The part is covered by Lennox's warranty, but Strand Brothers says that I must pay $408 for labor to install it. They state that they only warranty labor for ONE YEAR, even on a brand new $13,000 unit.
So, fair warning-- The Priority + plan is a scam and Strand Brothers does not stand by the units they install. They will instead try to profit off of the faulty units they install. I wish I had read all of the negative reviews on this site BEFORE using Strand Brothers.

We switched to Service Experts from our previous plumbing/HCAC company. Service Experts has always been reliable for our needs. Josafat did excellent work to unclog the faucets and drains. He was very respectful and answered all of my questions. He also provided quotes for future services.

We throw my son's birthday party at our house every year, but one afternoon day before I got home to water leaking out of my water meter. We ended up turning off our water to the night and calling the city in the morning. The city determined it was on my side, so I started looking for plumbers. My exterminator came at 9am for a scheduled visit and I asked him (in desperation) if he knew a plumber. He sure did! He gave me Ethan's number and he connected me with the home office. Ethan came by that afternoon and located the leak. The next morning (with more daylight) he determined the whole line had to be replaced. Unfortunately the diggers were booked so it was going to be hard to meet my party deadline. Now, my yard is not going to win any gardening awards. It has zero curb appeal at the moment. It being a Halloween themed birthday party I was already going to decorate the yard with headstones. I wanted working toilets WAY more than expect digging. I offered to help dig the line myself or to go hire some other people off the street. I left to run an errand thinking would have to look for alternate birthday locations but when I came home, Ethan was there with reinforcements digging up my yard! A few hours later I had running water again. Freaking amazing! The headstones looked perfect in my digged up yard. It's been a month and you can hardly tell where they did the work. Ethan and his helpers really went above and beyond. SB is lucky to have him.

We have been a customer of this business for over 20 years. They have been extremely reliable. Showed up today on time after getting notice tech on his way/.
Tech provided an update of the system functionality & handled replacing our attic air filter. Always shows us the filter to confirm replacement needed.
We continue to appreciate the service given by Strand.

Alex R. was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Will request his service in the future.

This company is straight up unethical opportunists. I beg all of you to get a second opinion from an independent contractor before you siggree to get anything repaired by these scammers. We were quoted over 15k for a brand new unit for what ended up being under $800 to fix. A sales guy tags along the technician and tries to scam you into buying their monthly program. When further asked about it, they gave us the broadest non informative answers. I'm so baffled at how they are even allowed to take advantage of people's hard earned money like this. These people will bring props to tell you how your unit is failing, will lie to your face, and then quote you for a whole new unit. Do NOT fall for it and get a second quote.

Be sure you get more than one bid.
Be sure you get a receipt.
Rethink signing what you can't read, and giving a check without any paperwork.
FOR SURE FIND OUT WHAT THE PRICE IS BEFORE PROFFERING A COUPON.
Don't expect to be able to give feedback to the company in any manner.

Had a $7500 mini split (already overpriced) installed in May of 2022, recommended Mitsubishi brand by Strand. You can buy the AC for like $2500-3k wholesale but of course you want it done right and at the time I was dealing with my dad's failing health (he passed away a month later) and I trusted Strand to install this mini split in my dad's house properly so that they didn't have to deal with the heat.
They tried to sell me on their maintenance plan which is $10/month to come out 2X year to check and make sure all is well. Well all is not well but you wouldn't know it by their most recent maintenance check less than two months ago.
Last night the AC quietly shut off while I was watching TV at their place. Guy comes out today and tells me the circuit board is fried. There was no power outage, nothing else shut down, the other ACs in the house (not installed by Strand) are working fine. So he tells me it's $80 for figuring out what's wrong. It will be maybe between $300-500 to fix. Strand also recommended the electrician who put in the electrical stuff when I purchased this last year. Also wtf isn't there some kind of fail safe for a power outage anyway? There was NOT a power outage but still. My parents have other ACs that are a decade or older running without issue and this AC that is not even 1.5 yrs old mysteriously dies?
Wtf kind of maintenance plan am I paying for if your products and installation suck? Do not purchase from Strand, and certainly do not let them dupe you into their maintenance plans, which pay for absolutely nothing.
The service agents are nice enough even if the last maintenance guy forgot to switch the power switch at the AC back on before he left leaving my mom wonder why the AC wasn't turning on.
Your chances are better off elsewhere.
