Mr. Stokes started Stokes Mechanical over six decades ago in response to the lack of reliable plumbing services locally. Located in Lake Worth, our headquarters and workshop remains with the leadership of Sonny's daughter, Susan.

We grew influence across South Florida, gaining recognition as a prominent name in developing multi-family housing, medical and research buildings, government facilities, and commercial developments. As we expanded in building, we recognized the demand for a service branch was clear. Initially beginning by servicing the properties we built, our service department has grown significantly. Following the addition of our General Plumbing division to Stokes in June of 2013, we have established ourselves as a more significant player in South Florida.

During 1995, Sonny handed over the business to Susan, his daughter, who had been with the company at the company since 1983. Starting out as the front desk staff, Susan worked her way up becoming bookkeeper, chief estimator, Vice President, and currently serves as President and CEO. She obtained the state air conditioning license in 1989 and her plumbing license two years later, making her the first the first female mechanical contractor in Palm Beach County. She has received several honors for her success as a leader of a woman-owned business and having served as a member of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board from 1997 to 2002.
