E.C. ""Sonny"" Stokes started our company over six decades ago in response to the need for professional, quality plumbing companies in the area. Located in Lake Worth, our facility continues to operate under the direction of Sonny's daughter, Susan.

Our company grew influence throughout South Florida, becoming a leader in developing condominiums, medical and research buildings, public and educational structures, and commercial developments. While Stokes expanded in construction, the need for a service department was clear. Initially beginning by servicing our own constructions, Stokes Mechanical's HVAC and plumbing service division expanded exponentially. Following the addition of General Plumbing in June 2013, we have established ourselves as an even greater force in the South Florida area.

In 1995, E.C. Stokes transferred control to Susan, his daughter, who had been part of the team since the early 80s. Beginning her career as a receptionist, Susan worked her way up becoming the financial manager, chief estimator, Vice President, and today is the President and CEO. Susan received her air conditioning license back in 1989 as well as the plumbing license two years later, establishing herself as the first female mechanical contractor in the county. Susan earned numerous awards for her success as a female-owned business leader and serving actively as a member of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board from 1997 to 2002.
