E.C. ""Sonny"" Stokes started Stokes Mechanical back in 1963 in response to the need for professional, quality plumbing companies in our community. Located in Lake Worth, FL, our office and fabrication shop continues to operate with the direction of Sonny's daughter, Susan.

Our company grew its presence in South Florida, gaining recognition as a prominent name in the construction of condominiums, medical and research buildings, government and educational buildings, and commercial developments. As Stokes expanded in the construction industry, we recognized the demand for a service department became apparent. Starting with repairs for our own constructions, Stokes Mechanical's HVAC and plumbing service division expanded exponentially. Following the establishment of the General Plumbing branch in June 2013, it has become a more significant player in the South Florida area.

During 1995, E.C. Stokes handed over the business to Susan, his daughter, who had officially worked since 1983. Beginning her career as the front desk staff, Susan advanced her career to the bookkeeper, chief estimator, VP, and now is the President and CEO. She received the state air conditioning license back in 1989 as well as her plumbing license in 1992, becoming the sole female mechanical contractor in the county. Susan has received many accolades for her success as a female-owned business leader while also serving actively as a member of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board from 1997 to 2002.
