I got ripped off by Stivan Plumbing and Heating:

I must say, the technicians were friendly and sincere. Dennis is excellent, but it seems to me that the owner's primary goal is to make a quick buck! He charged me $500 for a 45-minute job, asked for cash, and refused to give me a receipt.

My advice is, save yourself a headache and call someone else! Because Stivan Plumbing will take your money and run! They installed my dishwasher with the wrong hoses, and for that reason, my dishwasher overflowed and leaked.

I had them come back for a second time to fix the problem, and the owner wanted to CHARGE me again to buy different hoses and fix the leakage they've created.

My advice - stay away from this company and save yourself a headache!

I am updating this review because Stivan contacted me to correct this situation. The billing issue has been favorably resolved. I am the first to complain but I am also quick to thank someone when they do the right hing & Stivan did this, Two star because their prices are outrageous to say the least. They acquired Bretone plumbing who I had used for a long time. Dennis is great ( he was with Bretone) but I will never use Stivan again simple because the gouging in the price. You have lost my business. Never again.

My parents hired Sitvan Plumbing to correct 3 violations that they received from the city. Stivan Plumbing came within the same day, of my father's call to them, to give my parents a quote and they started the work within a day or so. They were great! The owner always checked in to make sure everything was going well with the work and was present for the two inspections (city inspector and Con Ed). We were never left alone in case we didn't understand something during the inspections.

I had the pleasure of working with Megan a lot from the office and she is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and was alway so pleasant with every annoying question I had. She was very thorough and always updated us on approvals that we were waiting on from Con Edison.

I highly recommend Stivan Plumbing.

I was very happy with this plumber. They weren't able to come until the next day. But they showed up first thing in the morning. They were honest, reasonable, and professional. I had a terrible experience with Woodside emergency plumbing and heating and I was really nervous to trust another plumber after that. This will be my new plumber from know on. I feel like I am in good hands with them. Thank you for your great work and integrity!

Stivan Plumbing has always been a mainstay for all my plumbing needs for the past 25 years.Good work and reasonable prices are always there no matter what the work calls for.It's nice to have them available especially for emergency work, never let me down.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My landlord hired this plumber to do some work on the building boiler. They came and left a complete mess - when I walked in, I noticed the following: lots of black sooty debris on the front walkway into the building; black sooty water that had been thrown all over the flowers I had planted in the front garden, many of them now squashed from the force with which the dirty water was thrown on them; a piece of plumbing debris in the front walkway, a large piece of cut metal pipe that had very sharp edges thrown in my garden, more black sooty dirt and footprints in the entry of the building itself, more black sooty dirt on the floor of the boiler room. Plus, they had left a valve open on the boiler and dirty water had overflowed from the bucket and was all over the floor. Had I not noticed this dirt and gone into the boiler room, we could have had major water damage. Eugene, the owner of the company, came back two days later to finish the job and supposedly clean up. All he did was clean the floor in the hallway, but didn't do anything about the dirt in the boiler room or at the exterior walkway, so still more dirt is being tracked every time someone comes through. When I spoke to him on the phone, he refused to let me get a word in and explain what I had found, hung up the phone on me several times, called me a liar and said that his guys told him that they had done everything perfectly and cleaned nicely. I have pictures to the contrary, but he refused to give me an email address to send them to. Stay as far away from this company as possible.

We had an emergency which required a call to a licensed plumber.
Unfortunately We got the WRONG reference when We decided to call Stivan Plumbing from Astoria Queens.
They sent us 2 people Who could not explain to the manager what they where doing to solve my problem.
And to make matters worse, never fixed my problem...
Had to be fixed by my ansul system company who I also had to pay to get back in business.
To my dismay they charged me $1300 ( one thousand three hundred dollars) to spend 3 hours in my building.
When I called the Owner of the company Eugene he immediately became defensive and started to yelll attempting to distract me from the questions i wanted to ask him. ( hanging the phone on my face)
1- what was the charges on the bill I paid in full was my question to him..
Since nothing was itemmized on the work order.
Obviously this was the case of a bad professoonal taking advantage of a client dealing with an urgent matter a total rip off!!..
