Reliable and knowledgeable local plumber. I had a leak from an upstairs bathroom in an old house that I was afraid was going to result in a a huge job and a lot of disruption. Jorge listened carefully to my observations of the problem and immediately diagnosed and repaired the (thankfully) minor cause. Jorge also took the time to inspect the damaged ceiling below and ensure the leak had stopped. As a woman it makes a nice change when a plumber actually listens to what you are telling him and as a homeowner I appreciate the professional service.

We dealt with Euguene and his unprofessional company a while back. They worked on our home and every little finding was an additional cost. Any questions we had, went unanswered. We would have to call his office several times to get a response. Some of his employees are also rude and standoffish. I recommend you stay away from Euguene and his company. Save yourself the headache.

We hired Stivan Plumbing to bring water into a closet off our kitchen for a washer/dryer. Yesterday the WD was finally installed and I was so excited to use it! Unfortunately, the washer sounded like it was going to explode when the spin cycle started. We called Stivan first thing this morning. The owner was not as helpful as I had hoped, but he did send our wonderful technician, Dennis, over and he spent time checking everything. Dennis discovered what was wrong and fixed the problem so that our washer now works like a charm.

My parents had to have their gas lines inspected as per NYC Law 152 and so many people recommended Stivan. He was professional and polite. Also his price was the most reasonable out of the 3 other companies we called.

I would recommend this business and will keep him in mind for future projects.

I got ripped off by Stivan Plumbing and Heating:

I must say, the technicians were friendly and sincere. Dennis is excellent, but it seems to me that the owner's primary goal is to make a quick buck! He charged me $500 for a 45-minute job, asked for cash, and refused to give me a receipt.

My advice is, save yourself a headache and call someone else! Because Stivan Plumbing will take your money and run! They installed my dishwasher with the wrong hoses, and for that reason, my dishwasher overflowed and leaked.

I had them come back for a second time to fix the problem, and the owner wanted to CHARGE me again to buy different hoses and fix the leakage they've created.

My advice - stay away from this company and save yourself a headache!

I am updating this review because Stivan contacted me to correct this situation. The billing issue has been favorably resolved. I am the first to complain but I am also quick to thank someone when they do the right hing & Stivan did this, Two star because their prices are outrageous to say the least. They acquired Bretone plumbing who I had used for a long time. Dennis is great ( he was with Bretone) but I will never use Stivan again simple because the gouging in the price. You have lost my business. Never again.

My parents hired Sitvan Plumbing to correct 3 violations that they received from the city. Stivan Plumbing came within the same day, of my father's call to them, to give my parents a quote and they started the work within a day or so. They were great! The owner always checked in to make sure everything was going well with the work and was present for the two inspections (city inspector and Con Ed). We were never left alone in case we didn't understand something during the inspections.

I had the pleasure of working with Megan a lot from the office and she is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and was alway so pleasant with every annoying question I had. She was very thorough and always updated us on approvals that we were waiting on from Con Edison.

I highly recommend Stivan Plumbing.

I was very happy with this plumber. They weren't able to come until the next day. But they showed up first thing in the morning. They were honest, reasonable, and professional. I had a terrible experience with Woodside emergency plumbing and heating and I was really nervous to trust another plumber after that. This will be my new plumber from know on. I feel like I am in good hands with them. Thank you for your great work and integrity!
