Beware - these guys will leave you hanging. Here is a list of my issue with them:
- Accept a job and don't show up for two days
- Cancel the job and don't reply to phone calls (won't bore you with how many calls back and forth)
- Now I am a week later with no resolution to my electrical issues (which I made clear was time sensitive because of the dangers surrounding the matter).
Now I have to find someone else and it's going to take another 3-4 business days for them to get out here. Very unprofessional, unreliable and not trustworthy. Basics you can expect when you book a service is keep your promise and good communication.
For your safety and time, I would advise you look elsewhere.
Mainak M.Very pleased with Stitch. They were responsive, arrived on time and completed the job efficiently.
I found Stitch Coterie via Yelp to install track lighting and re-grout our bathroom tile. Nick and his team went above and beyond to ensure we were excited about the final products. The team was very communicative with us, easy to work with, and charged very reasonable prices compared to other contractors we got quotes from. We are so appreciative for their work and will certainly reach out to them in the future for other work we need done in our apartment. Thank you Nick + team!
Amish S.Overall 4.5 Stars and would recommend
My building insurance requirements had frustrated other small contractors from doing a bathroom renovation. Nick was the only person who persevered in getting a plumber and the appropriate insurance together to get the job done.
For reference, I had him install mainline shut off valves (done by a plumber he brought), install 2 vanities, 2 medicine cabinets, 2 toilets, 2 ceiling and 3 wall light fixtures, replace damaged dry wall, and paint.
He gave me a fair estimate (based on other quotes) and did not take any deposit until he was approved by the building. He was willing to put a COVID shutdown clause in the contract. While a cost adjustment was made at the end, it was appropriate.
Overall I felt like the work was done very well, everything looked clean and his team did a good job installing numerous shut off valves on the main plumbing lines. He was also flexible with us. Our new vanity and toilet were delivered broken which we had not checked prior to him starting the project. It delayed the project for a day, but he didn't give me a hard time about this which was very nice. We had a small issue with the medicine cabinet and he came back within a week to fix it at no additional charge.
My subtraction of a half star is that I wish he had been a little more punctual and organized. There was some confusion during the work, but this was partially my fault and everything work out in the end. In hindsight, no matter who you hire, you should sit down with the person at the start of the renovation, go over the plan, check in, and be available to deal with issues.
Overall Nick did a really nice job, I felt that the pricing was fair, and I would hire him again in the future.
We had someone come in last month and they seemed to have done a really good job. They were late to the call and had to reschedule towards the evening. Trying to get back into contact with them to schedule a follow-up appointment or even trying to talk to someone from their phone number is impossible. I've tried multiple times through phone, text, and email but have only gotten back one response that wasn't followed up on. Will be contacting a different electrician.
Nicholas and his colleague did a good job.
George P.Nick is the best, fixed my sink when most other people said it was not fixable! Also great personality and just made the whole experience very enjoyable, also prices were very reasonable, would highly recommend him to anyone!
I hired Nicholas late last summer after closing on my new place to re-do my bathroom, paint my apartment, install a new thermostat and install a new light fixture in my laundry room. The very first question that I asked Nicholas was whether or not he knew how to install cement tiles which are very different from ceramic or porcelain. He enthusiastically said he had done it many times before and that it wouldn't take him long to do. Fast forward 4 months later and the damage they did is still unbelievable to imagine, I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
I'll start with the thermostat: Nicholas installed a Nest thermostat and when I turned on the A/C during a heatwave, heat came blasting out of my vents making me almost pass out. I asked Nicholas what was wrong with it, he said ""Maybe the A/C was never working."" I couldn't breathe and called every single HVAC company I could to find someone to come over and fix it immediately. After paying another professional $1,000 to fix it he told me ""Someone mixed up your heating and cooling elements."" I let this go because I just wanted them to get the work done. While I was doing my laundry, I noticed that only boiling hot water was coming out the washing machine. I asked Nicholas if he did anything to my machine while he was painting the laundry room, he said ""No, maybe the cold water was never running in the machine"" despite the fact that I had been using it for 2 months without any issue until he went in there. The repairman said that ""Someone mixed up the hot and cold water hoses."" Notice a pattern here?
I let the thermostat and washing machine go because I was trying to be nice and give them a chance. I noticed that one of the bulb covers of my new light fixture was broken, I asked Nicholas what happened to it he told me ""Maybe it arrived that way."" I had inspected the fixture for damage when it arrived and knew he was lying, when I asked him about it he said it broke while he was trying to install it. Fine, I'm not petty, I let yet another thing go.
Nicholas had never been so responsive as he was when he kept texting and calling me begging for an advance. He said his taxes were messed up and the IRS took all of his money and kept begging and begging and I felt bad for the guy and gave in. One advance became 3 more instances of begging for additional advances and suddenly I had paid all of the work in full before anything was completed. What a complete and utter mistake that was.
The grand finale is the disaster they did to my bathroom. Nicholas has posted some long shots of my bathroom as an example of his work, take a look at the condition that he left my tile in and decide for yourself if this is a company you want to hire. I have tried hundreds of dollars of cleaning products but nothing will get rid of the ruined grout that they let seep into the porous cement tile. I had even gone so far as printing out installation instructions for his team which clearly they did not read. I called the tile company and asked if they could recommend a way to fix ruined grout, the tiling team said they had never heard of this happening before, everyone reads the instructions and seals the tile before grouting which Nicholas' team did NOT do.
To add more insult to injury, one of his workers took my brand new Dyson vacuum out of it's box and used it to clean up their construction debris caking the bristles in grime, cement and ruining the filter and engine. His team also left me a present of a cement caked formerly brand-new stepladder. Nicholas told me to total up the cost of the damages because he wanted to ""Make things right."" He wanted to make things right until he saw what the cost of damages they did were then I never heard a single peep from him ever again. I have tried reaching out to him multiple times to reconcile this and never heard a word back. Does this sound like a satisfaction guarantee? This was the sloppiest, most unprofessional experience I have ever had with anyone doing work in my home.
I reached out to this company late at night to schedule an appointment about a clogged shower drain. Nick responded immediately and said he could come by the next day between 4:30 and 5pm. He showed up at 4:45pm and had a mask on per Covid guidelines. He was able to resolve the issue with my shower very quickly, and I'm happy to report that it works great now. If you are looking for a plumber who communicates well, shows up on time, and does excellent work for what I felt was a reasonable price, then do not hesitate to contact them!
Nick is a fantastic contractor, handyman and overall a great guy. He is super efficient, kind, clean, timely, professional and offers a fair price.
Over the last few months he's one a number of jobs at my house and has done just a fantastic job.
1: He fixed leaking valves for 3 of my radiators and fixed cosmetic damage to my walls and ceilings.
2: Replaced a leaking gutter and installed a custom gutter with a downspout that points out to the street instead of the foundation of my property.
3. Completed a massive renovation job in my basement, replacing sheetwall, dryrock, installing cabinets, building a summer kitchen, renovating the bathroom and handling the entire job in just 5 days.
4. As I am NOT handy, he also built a ton of shelves for me around the house.
Nick is not only a consummate pro, but is also a great guy who I am happy to call one of my good friends. Could not recommend him highly enough.
