Recommended Customer Reviews

We have had several occasions to use their services and were very happy with the work. The one time we had an issue, they stood behind their work and came back to correct the problem with quickly and with a good attitude. They show up on time and ready to work. But I think the best recommendation is that both their workers and office staff are friendly, professional and responsive. I appreciate having a reliable "go-to" company that can address all kinds of issues.
We used them for a water heater, running water to the fridge, water leak and a gas leak. Would not call anyone else!

We are currently renting the house we live in, so when something breaks we call the management company and they contact the vendor of their choice to fix whatever the problem is. In September a sprinkler pipe broke in our front yard and a nice man at Steve's contacted us about setting up an appointment for repair. He was very nice, cordial, friendly, even joking about pretending we were disaster prepping with our water turned off.
The next day I pull up and two repairmen have arrived. I went to great them, introduce myself, and explain what happened. Not once did they even acknowledge me. Not even a simple Hello,we are here from Steve's plumbing. The just stared at me. Okaaaaay. I went inside and about 1.5 hours later the older repairman knocked on our door, to say they were letting some glue dry, so they were going to run an errand and be back. I stepped out onto my porch and asked what happened to the pipe. He mumbled something about a junction pipe being broken. His fellow worker just stood there and laughed at me. They left and came back. Finished up their work and knocked on the door to tell us it was fixed. Again I asked what had happened to the pipe and they never even responded. They just went and got in the truck. After a few minutes of confusion about why they were treating us that way, I went Outside to get the truth. I really wanted to know what happened and if they could advise us on how we might prevent it from happening again. The assistant rolled down his window, looked at me with disgust, and said, " what do you want?" As I tried to explain what information I was hoping to learn from them, the head guy literally shooed me off with his hands. I was about to lose my calm when the head guy asked if we rented or owned our home. When we said we rented he told me that they don't talk to renters. They do not talk to the people who live at the home.
Did they fix the problem? So far so good. Did they treat us with even a small modicum of manners required in any social interaction. No.
They need to realize and understand that most renters are there temporarily and will be purchasing homes soon- like us. Those renters you treat so poorly will become homeowners/future customers who will remember Steve's Plumbing and the poor way they were treated and will hire another company instead. I know we will.

Richard did a get job. He showed up when he said he would and was very knowledgeable and friendly. I have used Steve's plumbing before. They installed new toilets a few years ago and they did a great job then too.

After sending out two different plumbers to our house, our problem is worse than before they ever came. We had a toilet that would run periodically for 5-10 seconds on its own. After researching the issue online, it seemed like it should be an easy fix so we called Steve's - they had installed our water heater. The first plumber from Steve's that came out, said he had no idea what was causing the problem and his only recommendation was to replace every part in the toilet or replace the whole toilet. The toilet is not very old, so I didn't think this was necessary. He started by replacing the flapper. While he was still here, it continued to run, and when I pointed this out to him, he said he couldn't help further if we didn't just want to replace the whole thing. He left and after I called the office to complain they sent out another plumber the next day (I had to take time off of work for both visits). The second guy said we weren't getting a good seal in the water tank. He made an adjustment, and waited a little while and it didn't run. However, since he's left it runs much more frequently than before I ever called them! I didn't bother calling them back because they obviously didn't know how to fix it, and I will not use their service again.

Avoid! Called them about a gas line inspection. They took down all of my information, and said they'd take care of it. This was mid-day on a Wednesday. Call them back Monday, and they act as if they've never heard of me. The office manager is rude, acts like it's a bother to talk to customers. Never again!

I should have looked at Yelp before accepting our property manager's recommendation of these guys. I called on Monday to make an appointment for Thursday morning at 9 a.m. I was told "We have you down for Thursday at 9." I didn't become aware that they have service windows until Tuesday when I was trying to coordinate the water shut-off between my property manager and the plumber. Turns out my appointment was for "9 to 11".
I tried to be optimistic that they might show up at 9, but by 10:45 (I had been told the plumber would call 20 minutes before arriving) I hadn't heard from anyone at their company. I called them to ask where my technician was and was put on hold, then had to explain to someone else why I was calling, then was told they would call me back.
At 11 I got a call from the company saying the tech was on his way at the same time that the technician was calling to inform me of the same. He finally arrived at 11:30, took apart my shower faucet, left to go get parts (which I expected), came back at noon, finished the repair, then asked me to pay on-site. I told him I would pay by credit card and he said the company would call me.
I had already emailed Steve, the owner, to ask for a discount, because I'm an hourly employee and had tried to schedule this appointment as early as possible so to minimize the amount of money I would be missing out on earning. The technician returned to my door and said that he had just spoken to the office and they wanted me to call them. I did, while the technician was waiting in another room, and repeated my request for a discount because they had severely inconvenienced me. The woman on the phone told me that Steve had already seen my email and would not authorize a discount. [I never did receive an email response from Steve--the personal touch means nothing here.]
After I had paid my bill, the technician (who did a reasonable job and was quite polite, he deserves better than to work for these cretins) told me that he hadn't received notification of my job until 11 a.m.--i.e., about 30 seconds before he called me to let me know he was coming, which means that I apparently had not been on the schedule at all.
TL;DR: Inconsiderate, late, won't agree to a discount or any concessions if the customer is dissatisfied.

On time. Completed specified repairs to functional level. I used Steve's based on their relationship with my association's property mgmt company. 2 negatives - For some reason, the office refused to provide an estimate for some simple work and the final appearance of the work was disappointing.

I just finished paying $327 for what should have been a simple 30 minute job to replace the float inside a toilet, replacing the shut-off valve to the toilet and unclogging the bathroom sink drain. This should be a cautionary tale to all who decide to use this business. I should have heeded the reviews here first, but a neighbor recommended them to me.
They sent a repairman out last week to fix the float in mom's toilet and we already had the part. We were going to do it ourselves at first but I decided it would save me more time and hassle to have a pro do it. Unfortunately, Steve's was the wrong place to call. My mom said the guy showed up and was professional but not friendly. She gave him the part we had and installed it, cleared the sink drain pipe, changed out the shut-off valve to the toilet and cleared the hot water line, all in about 30 minutes. The final charge was $150 ($120 service fee plus other labor) and I was happy to have it all done. They said they were going to bill me, so I had no receipt yet.
Then, my mom notices that the toilet is still running, so I had them come back out yesterday. They said I had to pay for the service again, because I didn't have a receipt and they didn't have any records of the service call at all from last week. I figured I could just pay this time and give them a call to credit last week's bill if it showed up again. After all, they should warranty their work when it was just a few days ago, right? Wrong. The second plumber told me the reason why the toilet still wasn't running right was because I needed to install the original parts for the toilet, not a universal part. The other plumber never told us that nor did he tell us that if we didn't have them install their own supplied parts, that would void any warranty for the work. Obviously, I would have had them use their part which would have only cost me $10 more than my own to have the warranty not voided. This second bill was $177.
I explained this to the office girl on the phone today, and even though none of this was explained to us, I had to pay for last week's bill too. Even though we never received any documents saying our warranty would be voided if we used our own part and the repairman never mentioned it to my mom, I decided to just be done with the problem and pay the bill. I hope this was worth it to the plumbing company, because my poor review will also be shared with my entire neighborhood and other online sites.
I decided to at least be fair and give them two stars because the second repairman was nice, but even he didn't mention anything about work warranty.

It took a while for me to get scheduled but on the scheduled date the repairman from Steve's Plumbing called 20 minutes ahead, arrived on time, was knowledgeable, very friendly and fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. Thank you!

Steve's Plumbing is the most reliable and honest plumbing company in town! I had a waterline break from the street to my house and they assessed the situation and gave me a competitive bid and got the job done within a day!
I'll be recommending Steve's Plumbing to all my friends and family.
