My heater has been acting up periodically for over the last 12 months. Every time I called someone out to fix it, they couldn't figure out what the problem was. Stan's was able to identify the issue and resolve it to repair my 1992 unit for a fraction of the cost to replace the unit. Thank you to the technician and office staff that helped me.

Our central heat went out on (of course) the coldest day of the new year. I called Stan's in the early afternoon and they scheduled a technician to come to my house later that evening. Stan's later called and asked if the tech (David) could come early - which he did. Sharp guy, well dressed, polite, put covers on his shoes before coming in the house then fixed the unit in about 10 minutes. I am generally pretty handy with fixing things around the house, but was at a loss on this one. The $75 charge was well worth it. Stan's is my "go to" company for home repairs that I cannot handle and they continue to provide great service.

Amazing service. Got a same day appointment to fix a furnace (it was in the 30's outside). Was given a time window for appointment, got a call prior to tech showing up, and he was able to get here early. He put shoe covers on before entering the house, was extremely polite and took great care to not cause any damage to my belongings while working on the furnace.

Problem was fixed and a suggestion made to provide better return air flow.

Also received a call within 15 minutes of tech leaving to discuss the air flow issue.

No high pressure tactics, no trying to sell me something I didn't need, just honest upfront recommendations.

Wish all service techs and companies were more like Stan's.

I've been doing business with Chris Strand since 1988. When Strand Brothers was sold to Service Experts, I went looking for him. He is passionate about helping customers save money on energy bills, and finding creative ways to reduce heating and cooling bills while keeping you comfortable. He helped me install two systems in my house (13 years apart), and we made adjustments for the length of time I spend at home and the load on the AC unit as a result.

I currently use Stan's for annual checkups on my heat and AC to avoid any problems that might be lurking in the background. They are prompt, have never overcharged me, and have not attempted to sell me anything I didn't need. I'd recommend their services to anyone.

And if you don't have a good experience, call them up and talk to Chris. He is interested in making things right for the customer (and he wants to know from YOU if things went wrong).

I think these people are fantastic - I have just read a few reviews of unhappy customers, and reading between the lines I worry that these individuals are difficult to keep happy. That's my thinking anyway.

The tech came yesterday for an annual furnace service, and I forgot I had an appointment. Alzheimers I am thinking. Anyway, I wasted their time and the gal I spoke to could not have been nicer. So another tech David came this morning. Totally professional, told and showed me what he was doing, and I left him to it in the end. It was not one of those 10 second services either. He opened everything up and checked the mechanicals and electricals, and poured bleach to kill the bugs in the outflow pipe. Didn't even try to sell me on new filters which were pretty new. Gave me free dog consultancy advice too. That would have been $300 at the vet.

So, get this, I received a nice note from the President after the call. Never see that sort of thing these days. Probably an automatic email, but who cares, I got one. I think the answer to problems if you get them is to call them and ask them to help resolve the issue, not trash them on Yelp. I mean, things always go wrong with furnaces and air conditioners - especially when they are old and never been serviced which I bet is the case for a lot of people.

So, a total thumbs up to Stan's - and I will be getting air conditioner service from them in the Spring.
