My A/C went out during the brutal heat and the company I've been using for 5 years who I pay for their "service plan" said they couldn't get to my Casa for a week.
I called Stan's and they got someone out same day. Michael W. showed up and took care of the fix in 30 minutes for a fair price.
I'm a new fan of Stan!

tl;dr -- Stan's can do the work but they're *very* overpriced.
I had Stan's come out and diagnose my heat pump system - it had stopped cooling. They were able to identify that I likely had a leaking coil and recharged my refrigerant (~$500). We talked about long-term repair options and was told that I'd get a call about coming back to detect whether the leak was coming from the indoor or outdoor unit. No one called.
After a couple days I called back to make an appt. They came back and detected the leak in about two minutes (~$240). I chatted with the tech about long-term options and prices and he said replacing the coil would probably be $3k or so and if I wanted to replace the entire unit I'd be out up to $10k. He says the office will call to provide exact quotes. They didn't call.
I called a couple days later and had to leave a voicemail with the parts department. They called back the next day and said that the coil replacement would cost $3,400. Oh and also the coil is backordered so it would be *months* until a replacement came in..........We're in a heatwave and I'm worried that my AC is going to go out. Very unhelpful.
Anyway, I never called them back. Instead, I went with a smaller shop. Those folks quoted me $1,500 to replace the coil and said they could get it in in a few days. They also quoted me about $3,400 to replace the *entire air handler*.
So, go ahead and call Stan's, but be prepared to hound them for service and to massively, massively overpay.

I had an HVAC technician come out to view all my vents, units and ducts to ensure everything was working fine and up to code as I have just purchased this home. I was informed there were several things that needed to be updated and that he would send me a quote of items so that i can schedule them to be done. Its has been WEEKS and I have contacted Stan's 3 different times and informed them I still have not received my quote. I wouldn't care about getting this quote if I hadn't paid $185 dollars for this inspection! I have been transferred 3 times to different departments where they have never answered and I had to leave voicemails, in which I have NEVER received a call back. Beware if you go with this business you may pay almost $200 for an estimate and never actually get it! On a positive note, which is why they got 2 stars, is their plumber Robert Doyal was absolutely wonderful! He provided several plumbing quotes for different scenarios so that we could choose the one most cost effective for us!

Kenya came by today. Awesome. Found my new plumber.
UPDATE: I wish I could add another star. There was a minor misunderstanding -- no big deal really -- and she was right back out to take care of it and even spent more time to help troubleshoot another unrelated issue. Stan's probably broke even on this on this deal but they made a loyal customer.

Our AC went out during the current streak of 100° days. A Stan's tech came out on a Tuesday evening and said it was the compressor. He then said that their parts department would call in the morning after checking with Carrier to let us know if it was under warranty. We weren't worried about that because, though we did not purchase the unit we knew it was only about 5 years old. I was really surprised the next morning to be told that Carrier had told Brian from Stan's parts dept. that it was not covered. They then said it would be close to 4K to replace. It had to be fixed so I gave the OK and was told they could not get the work done until Friday. Ugh! The temp in the house was 94°. But if that's the soonest there's nothing to do but grin and bear it. Meanwhile, my wife is incredulous that it's not covered and a guy that works for her recommended another AC person that he and several other of her employees had used and were happy with. So we decided to give him a shot. He found that it was not only the compressor but the capacitor as well. He called Carrier about the warranty and found that, as we believed, it WAS covered. He was able to replace capacitor and compressor, labor and all for less than one thousand. So disappointed in Stan's.

Ten years ago, I selected Stan's to replace my HVAC system. For the past ten years, I have paid a yearly fee for their HVAC Gold Service Club membership that provides twice a year maintenance on my system. I have always been satisfied with this company and would recommend them to anyone needing the services that Stan's can provide.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Stan's. Our A/C went out last night, so I called at 6:45am this morning and there was someone to take calls, which most companies do not have. Someone called me back within 30 minutes and told me a technician could be here between 9 and 1. The rep called me back about 9:15 to let me know tech was on the way and he arrived about 15 minutes later. Within 15 minutes he had diagnosed and fixed the issue for a VERY reasonable charge. The customer service from the rep and prompt service from the technician was truly amazing. I highly recommend this company.

Worst service ever. Technicians are not to be trusted.
I realize the mold odor and my respiratory issues are due to their neglect.

Stan's tech, Ira Seacrest, was at our house today to find and repair a water leak. He was on time, efficient and courteous. He found the problem and made the repair. GOOD JOB

Wow such great service. The technician James had to order a part to fix my faucet. He kept me in the loop and accommodated my schedule. Came back out and everything was fixed quickly. I can't recommend highly enough.
