Brian is a very honest businessman. He very easily could have taken me for a $129 ""service fee,"" which I saw many other contractors advertising. In sum, my water heater had shut-off. Brian took the time to listen to the problem that I described and then over the phone stepped me through how to locate the proper panel on my water heater; turn-off the electric breaker in my house to guard against any ancillary damage; ""re-set"" my water heater; and provide advice on what to look for as a sign of a continuing problem. This is a man for whom integrity and reputation still matter. Brian and the team at Modern Plumbing Systems are the only plumbing contractors that I will ever use going forward. Thank you, Brian.

Brian is awesome. Our pipes were rattling and we had no idea what was going on. Brian came in and first thought we might need to replace one of our valves. That would have been the easy play. He would have made more money and we would have been happy. Instead, he said, ""But let me try adjusting it first; your valve is old but maybe you don't have to fix it today."" He adjusted the valve; our problem went away; and we paid MUCH *less* money. He is a craftsman with integrity. Then he said, ""I still do think you should replace the valve sooner rather than later. But if you do, I'll deduct what you just paid from the cost of the valve."" Of course, we hope we'll never *have* to use him again, but if and when we need a plumber, Brian's the guy we're going to call. He knows what he's doing and he realizes the best way to get a customer for life is to serve them both well and fairly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Can't say enough good things. Professional, responsive, prompt and efficient. I interviewed several plumbing companies to replace my water line. He was the most aggressive to respond. He came out the next day and gave me an estimate. After getting six more it was obvious he was right in line. And I had a good feeling about him. Even when he ran into unforeseeable complications, he stuck by the agreed to price and finished on time. And a wonderful attitude the whole time in unbearable conditions.
I feel lucky to have found Brian and can finally say ""Yes, yes I do"" when anyone asks me if I know a good plumber. And a great coworker in Max!

After receiving multiple calls from several plumbers, we decided to go with Modern plumbing based on the reviews in HomeAdvisor.com. Brian came to see the water heater first and gave us a rough estimate. It was a very quick process and they were able to get the water heater installed the next day morning. His price was also reasonable. We would definitely hire him again.

I have a rental property with an old hot water heater that was on it's last leg. I called many other plumbers and they informed me that they could not quote me over the phone and needed to bill me a trip charge to come out to give me an estimate. Obviously in a rental unit, fast service is needed and I don't have time to wait for all the estimates. I called Brian at around 7:00 Thursday night, he gave me a great estimate and advice and said they can replace the hot water heater Friday morning between 8 and 9. They arrived early, were very proficient, clean and polite and my hot water heater was done before noon. They also charged more less than the original estimate they gave me on the phone! I will definitely be using them again and highly recommend their services.

I had Modern Plumbing Systems come out to my house for a leaky toilet. They came out and fixed it quickly and at a reasonable price. The guy Brian was friendly. It's nice to have a guy that doesn't mind conversation while he is working. When they left I felt like Brian was a friend and not just my plumber. So the next time I had a plumbing problem, of course I called Modern Plumbing Systems and Brian came out to my house and replaced a 50+ year old rusted out leaking water pipe. Thank you Modern Plumbing Systems and thank you Brian. It feels good to have someone that I feel like I can trust to work on my house.

We will definitely be using you guys again.

A couple years ago 9ur water heater d8ed, of course on a weekend &/or holiday, not sure, but it wasn't a time when you can normally get a plumber. These guys came out, did a fantastic job, v er ry reasonable price, they even installed a faucet for us just being nice.

So why have I not given them 5 stars?

I have been trying, ever since that heater was put in, to get them to tell me what's involved in several minor repairs, a dishwasher problem (it won't drain), & a bathroom remodel for 2 old fat gimps. I even contacted them via your email after having asked the guy in person about an estimate for that the day he was jere.

Maybe they don't need the work? Maybe they forgot people get a bit ""fragrant if they can't shower because they don't have hot water & we smelled bad?Maybe they don't like fat people, or they hate gimps, or because of the number of small jobs I added to the list, they're afraid of ""scope creep""? Maybe their attention span only covers one job at a time? Whatever. All I know is they don't respond. I am going to go elsewhere as their lack of response seems to indicate they no longer want our business. S9 if you're a 1st time customer & you like their work, realize they may never give you an estimate, they may never call you back or email ypu. It MIGHT be that, like most plumbing & repair businesses, they just don't service our area (they'll do Baltimore City & the affluent types north of the city, but not go south; or they'll do D.C. & the affluent areas to the south but not come north; they'll do Annapolis & the affluent areas around it but not come past those places where not driving an expensive car or designer clothes marks you as a pariah; maybe they hate the military base so they hate getting caught servicing it...but 98% of the places I've tried tell me we're not in their service area. I'd hoped these folks weren't like that since they helped us in an emergency, but I guess once they figured out we weren't rich, they opted out.

I'll give them 5 stars for service in an emergency but ZERO stars for everything else. I mean, at least tell me what I did wrong

Brian came out the same day that I called about our slow and minor (but sort of complicated) leak. He diagnosed the issue and came out the next morning to fix it. Two hours later, done. Good price, quick service, friendly attitude, clean work. What more can you ask for?!?

Will definitely use again.
