So I called them because I had a burst pipe in the kitchen when we had the freeze last week. THey gave me an appointment from 4 to 6. I received text messages confirming this. I call at 6:20 to find out what happened? the guy says that it is a minimum of 600 dollars and I have to put 1 percent down to secure the appointment. 600 for a repair that takes two shark bites and 2 inch cpvc. Is that highway robbery or is that the going rate for a plumber?

We had a pipe bust 2 days before Christmas so we were very grateful this company responded as quickly as they did! That's the end of my positivity.
They charged $600 to fix it and $75 service charge but said they would wave the $75 service charge if we used them for the repair. They did not. I didn't have a choice because we were hosting Christmas and needed our water turned back on. I paid the 50% deposit as requested and they repaired the pipe. However, they couldn't demonstrate it was fully repaired because the pipe was completely frozen and the valve had to stay closed so I told them I'd pay the balance in 3 days once temperatures were above freezing and I could open the valve and validate it was repaired. They called repeatedly over Christmas and the day after and sent incredibly rude texts demanding I pay. I was taken back by how rude they were over text when I simply wanted to ensure the adjoining pipe was not cracked and the issue was repaired.
On the 3rd day, once temperatures had risen, I paid as promised, despite their replacing a pipe that had 2 valves on it with a pipe with only one valve. This is an issue for us turning off the sprinkler system in the future. Now that has to be redone.
Unfortunately we discovered we had a 2nd pipe on the backside of the home also cracked after Christmas. We called a different guy for this one for obvious reasons. The 2nd guy charged $85!! $85 vs $675!!!!
So, in summary: reliable? Yes. There when you need them most? Yes. Good value? Not even close. Customer service? Awful. Quality work? Nope.
Don't use them unless they are literally your only choice.

I do not recommend GEI! Previously called GEI in 2021 and they had been honest about an issue they couldn't fix and did not charge. After this experience, I called them last week to fix a leaking bathroom sink. They charged me $130 and changed a valve when the issue was a leaking hose, then told me that the entire faucet needed to be replaced. I was left with a sink which was still leaking after hours spent at the house, and the plumber didn't bother to clean-up, leaving parts on the floor and by the sink. There was no promise to return to fix the issue. I had to complain to the owner, who sent 2 plumbers back on the weekend, only to tell me again that the hose was leaking and, again, NOT fix the issue. I ordered a new hose on Amazon for $13.00 and my dad installed it in 10 minutes. I am shocked that GEI charged me so much to waste my time, "fix" the wrong issue, even misdiagnosing it a 2nd time stating the whole faucet needed to be replaced. I feel taken advantage of and will never use GEI again.

I was really looking forward to a five-star experience like all the reviewers on this GEI Plumbing Service's page. But something went terribly wrong.

The shower tub hot water valve was leaking for months. I really need it repaired. I used the Yelp Contractor tool to contact H-Town Emergency Plumber and it quickly gave me 5 other plumbing companies. GEI was one of them. The owner responded quickly.

At first, everything checked out right. He asked me to check on their Google reviews because they just started with Yelp. The estimate would be $35 but because of Halloween, they waive the fee. I even got a notification from House Call Pro to show technician ETA. Guy came out and arrived within a time frame to check the tub and gave me a verbal quote for $680.

Everything went downhill from this point. Because I really need it repaired quickly. Stupid me, I didn't shop around. I could have called H-Town but they won't do estimates. I was afraid it would cost more (I called after this fiasco; it was only $150 plus parts). I messaged the technician the following week to make an appointment for Wednesday. They showed up. I asked for an itemized quote in writing. But he came back to say they would check everything and if needed to replace or not, would still be $680.

It was a rainy day. He ordered his crew to get parts. I took half a day off dealing with this. 2 hours passed, and I called him. Where was the plumber? He said, "oh, they had to go to different stores because they can't find parts." I told him not to worry about it today. I won't have time to do it because I have to go back to work. Then, the plumber showed up an hour after that call. I told him I can't do it and please come back on Saturday. He insisted want to do it "it only takes 30 minutes." (Really? That's easy money for $680.)

When it came Saturday, the plumber failed to show up between 12 and 2pm. I waited and waited. I called and texted at 2:20pm, but the mailbox was not set up yet. Next day, the owner and Guy apologized and wanted to fix it for free. I already decided not to hire them 2 no-shows ago.

I didn't know if it was because of the free estimate during Halloween weekend or if they just got too busy and forgot about me.

This company blew all their competitors out of the water. They are fast reliable and send out their plumbers with everything they need to get the job done fast. No hidden charges, no 8 hr waiting window, everything went as planned. I strongly recommend them to my family and friends.

They have great reviews with Google, but a D+ with the BBB. I called and was told there would be a $39 trip charge that would be deducted if I accepted the estimate and they did the work. There was no estimate given, they just did the work. I assumed that was because it wouldn't be much over the $39. It only took about half an hour (no supplies used) and then I was sent a bill for $200. I called and asked why I had not been given an estimate. The owner, Guy, called back and told me they don't do estimates if it's less than $200. I tried to talk but he kept cutting me off, telling me to stop complaining and just pay the bill. I finally had to hang up on him. I did pay the bill, but will NEVER use this company again!

I called the company today. I had a problem in my bathroom. The technician came on the same day. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He replaced the parts and resolved the problem. The owner is also nice and helpful. Highly recommended. Thanks!

I had a leak under my kitchen sink and put an ad on yelp for plumbing services, GEI responded to my ad and was able to send someone out to look at the leak that same day, after diagnosis we scheduled the repairs for the following day.
