Patrick M.Dang I should've consulted YELP before purchasing this service. $328 (305 plus tax?) later and I'm kicking myself in the butt. These 2 guys came out with their evil little book and said replacing my TINY rubber washer was going to cost $300. I should've asked how much they intended on charging me before letting them into my house. DO NOT use this service. I feel cheated because they said they needed to replace the whole thing first! $750, then they drop the price 400 and tell you thats the 'price per job' for just a fix. Also 'our work has no warranty' is their lame excuse for if your stuff breaks next week. Bad company. I feel cheated. And I'll never use them again. Buy the tools myself and just sit on youtube is what I'll do next time.
CoCo A.If I could assign a 1/2 star I would. This company charges over and above reasonable rates, probably to pay for all their advertising. I called them to replace a water heater in my rental unit. They gave me an option of 3 models, but they were all the same price... huh? I didn't have a choice to call another plumber and wait for them to show up, so $2000 later for a 50 gal $1000 retail priced water heater my tenants were back to having water. They also offer a 10 year warranty on the water heater, however, it moves with you, so if you sell you your house, the warranty is null. What kind of funk is that? I will never recommend this company to anyone.
I would never use this service again. They operate as separate business units out of their trucks and hard sell you products that you do not need. They advertise that they charge by the job and not the hour. They told me there would be a call out charge of 95 dollars which is fine. After assessment they quoted $300 and told me I would have a flood the next day if I did not get the work done. I felt frightened and intimidated by the technicians. Then the job only took 15 minutes to replace a single shut-off valve. I was physically sick after their visit. When I contacted customer service they told me I had signed for the work to be done and therefore I have no come back. Quoting by the job and not by the hour is obviously a complete rip off.
Chris T.I highly recommend South West Plumbing, specifically Mike Vornheder. As an owner of relatively old house I've encountered several plumbing issues that needed professional attention. South West Plumbing has never let me down. They have a professional dispatch team that will not only send a team of plumbers to your residence but give you periodic updates so you don't have to spend an entire day waiting around. Mike and his team have always been prompt, courteous and professional. On both occasions the problem was quickly identified and Mike took the time to educate me on how to resolve and prevent the issue for happening again. South West Plumbing is competitively priced, highly responsive and their team of professional plumbers are the only choice for all your plumbing needs in Western, Washington.
Don't Waste Your Time.
South West plumbing answered their phone and rolled a truck to my home the next day. That's the Only good part. They then charged $104 just to send the truck, but not to do any work yet. Two men showed up, one sloppily dressed and very clearly uninterested, the other busy with paperwork. I showed them the split pipe that simply needed to be cut below the split and capped. They couldn't/wouldn't do it - said they didn't have a pipe threader. They did not ask some appropriate questions that would have helped define the problem further, instead they made assumptions about the problem. The paperwork guy of the two then gave me Rip-Off level estimates for multiple levels of repair, straight from the company playbook. He did not use his mind to think, to troubleshoot the problem, and to do the best he could do for me as a real plumber would - he apologetically read the playbook to see what he would be allowed to do, what name code the service, and how much to charge. Not a tradesman, a drone.
I said No Thanks - their prices are Ridiculous - paid them their $104 ""dispatch fee"" and sent them away.
With a little problem-solving type thinking and some help from a Non-Plumber I was able to fix the problem myself with a trip to Lowes, No special tools at all, and a $1.57 part. (Yes, One dollar and fifty seven cents.)
Seriously, don't waste your time or money with these guys.
Stop, so not use them!!! As far as I'm concerned, these guys are rip off artists. I had an experience with them two months ago and I'm still angry about it. There was a clogged in the pipe going from the house to the road in a rental we have. We needed someone out quick and didn't have time to search around and check reviews as it was on a Saturday afternoon and we were running around. That was the worst mistake I have ever made. As soon as they would fix one thing they said we needed to fix more and more and more..... One thing led to another and they managed to get $7000 dollars out of us before we said enough. They still never replaced the entire pipe and threatened to not warranty their work because they did not feel everything was done that needed to be. We now know that work they did should have cost less than half of that. When we didn't respond immediately to their call for final payment, they showed up at our house at 6:30pm on a Friday night demanding payment. They were lucky I was out of town or I would have gave them something other than money and sent them on their way. Unbelievable, I have never had such a bad experience in my life and I have told everyone I know that SW Plumbing is definitely not the ones to call. How they run their business is immoral and should be illegal!
Dan R.As far as I'm concerned, these guys are crooks. I had an experience with them two years ago and I'm still angry about it. I saw an ad on TV just now, and realized I've never shared that experience. People need to know.
I called Southwest Plumbing when my furnace wouldn't work. As soon as they took a look I got the feeling something was up. They started doing unrelated things like measuring the pressure in my plumbing system (telling me it was too high). They basically piddled around for an hour before replacing a little wire. I've since found out what that little wire does, it senses if the gas jets have started. I found it online for $9.50. They ended up charging my over $400 for the visit. It was clear to me that they took a 5 minute job and made it look like way more work than it was. When I finally saw what they actually fixed and saw the outrageous bill I asked them about it. I got a story about ""needing to cover overhead"". Watch out folks. They will cheat you.
Ross N.My experience left me somewhat unsettled and doubtful. I could not tell from the technician if he was under a lot of sales pressure or if he truly had my best interest in mind. He corrected one problem but then tried to sell me some other repairs as well.
My son called South West Plumbing to see why the furnace was acting up. 2 guys came out and looked at the furnace and said we need a new one for almost $4000.... charged me $300 and did nothing but glance at the furnace. I asked why the Co2 monitor did not show anything wrong and he said all of them are junk... I called the gas company and they said the monitors work just fine....... is so unfair Seattle allows companies like this to operate in the city....... I am going to report them to the licensing dept..... what a rip off company!~!
Terrible service! If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. They failed to show up at first time appointment and then pushed back two days. Two days later, they canceled again.
Avoid.
No coupon is worth it!
