Where do I start? I'm at work, and my girlfriend discovers some warped hardwood flooring. Our neighbor came over and looked. He went down below and discovered hot water spraying all over the crawl space. Needless to say all the insulation is falling out where it's gotten wet. She shuts off the hot water tank. After advising me, I told her to call a plumber to fix it. Our neighbor said it would be a tee and an elbow, not much.

She calls South West Plumbing. Out comes this clown who goes in the crawl space and comes out telling her that the entire floor will have to be replaced. His estimate to repair the two offending parts is $650. She gets me on the phone. I listen to his crock of crap about how much work it is to fix and his price is the going rate. He also tells me that the OSB floor will have to be ripped out and replaced. I inquired further. He continually told me complete lies and fabrications. He also said he had an associate who specializes in this sort of thing and he would work with us and the insurance company.

I called him on his crap. I used to be a Contractor and am an expert in woods. I have restored many antique wooden boats and I am totally familiar with the characteristics of wood, wet and dry. I told him I would fix the leak and to take a hike. He said it was impossible for someone like me to fix this problem. Right. Excuse my French. ""Bullshit""

We were getting ready to leave town that day. I told my girlfriend to have him get lost, at which point he told her that I had issues and was an asshole. Well, I am an asshole. I came home, ran to Ace, bought the parts and fixed the leak. Eleven dollars in parts, 5 minutes of my unprofessional, do it yourself time. Changed and caught a plane without skipping a beat. I just can't see $3500 an hour for such a thing.

Stay away. If you have water damage they will scam you and your homeowner's insurance.

Oh, I did run this by a friend who is one of the largest plumbing contractors in LA. He said that would be a $200 job in LA. Check things out first. Don't let a scammer like this take your hard earned money.

A decade ago I experienced upselling, over charging, and trying to convince me that my friend was getting a good deal. This case involved an older woman I was helping out, after she was sold a disposal she did not need, for a very high price, I tried to negotiate, after the fact. They eventually returned $100 to the customer, after charging about $1200 for a new disposal! I personally would not use them.

Had a clogged sewer line, they scoped it and said the pipe was broken and needed dig up my driveway to replace. Estimated from $10k-15k. They brought out a team of ""specialists"" who all confirmed this. My jaw dropped. They would not show me the video of the scope and so I told them no thanks, and got a second opinion. The other company scoped out my pipe and discovered no break, just some wipes clogged the pipe, fixed for about $400. Aggressive & deceptive, do not use stay away.
We complained to BBB and were met with a letter from the legal department from Southwest plumbing. Unbelievable, DO NOT CALL THEM!!!

I called Southwest to first find out what the minimum service charge was to determine if we even wanted to have someone come out. The woman that answered said she wasn't a technician and that they didn't give any cost information over the phone--when the technician arrived, he or she would give us an estimate. She would not provide ANY idea what the minimum amount might be. There was no charge to have them come out for an estimate, so we scheduled an appointment between 2;30 and 4:30 pm the following day. About halfway through that time slot, I received a call and was told they wouldn't be able to get to our appointment that day and wanted to reschedule on Monday. (It was Friday) Not much choice but to say OK, so I did. Today it was a little after 1 PM and I called to make sure they were coming. The woman said that the computer said they were at our house working. No, they weren't! They got lost on our street (even with specific instructions as to the color of our house and exact location) so my husband went out to the street and finally waved them in. My husband already had the toilet pulled up, ready to go. He had a hard time getting the wax seal to seal properly because of the height--only reason we called a plumber. We were told it would cost about $300 for them to put a double seal and another ring on top--then put the toilet back in. That should take about 20 minutes, so I asked why it would be $300. One of the men said when he goes to the doctor, he doesn't ask any questions---in a very rude tone. Obviously we said--we're done here and they left,

Who likes to call a plumber, you know it only means $$$. I checked online for reviews on plumbers and found many positive ones for South West Plumbing. I understand why now. Easy to make an appointment, very friendly customer service agent who booked it. They gave me a 2 hour window of time from 11am to 1pm. At 10:30 they called me to let me know they were on their way, a few minutes before they arrived they called again to let me know they would be at my door in less than 10min, so arrived at 11am. Two CLEAN nice and polite plumbers came in and went right to work after my husband explained the issues. They laid carpet down so not to make any mess and worked very hard to clear the drains. Then spent time explaining to us exactly what they did and gave us some maintenance drain cleaner and made sure I knew how to use it. VERY Professional along with being very polite, my only regret was not having some cookies for them because they did such a good job and were so nice. I then received a phone call a few hours after they left to make sure I was happy with their service. I am saving this contact just in case they are needed again down the road, I found them very professional, polite, and top of their game for repairs.

Not very happy with my experience with Soutwest today. I am adding a gas dryer to my home and wanted someone to come out and give me an estimate as to how much it would cost. The lady on the phone was nice enough, took down my info and said someone could be out between 12-2. 2:30 rolls around and no one has showed up. Finally I called and the dispatcher gets on the line and said he's been trying to call me. The original person took down the information wrong and screwed up my phone number. Needless to say, I am not in their service area after waiting around all day. This was a complete waste of time and a day. Not interested in their services and neither should anyone else.

I ran into some issues installing a water pressure regulator myself so I called South West Plumbing to come by and give me a quote for finishing the job. I had All the parts required I just needed an expert to finish the job. He quoted me $670!! This company is more about raking in money for themselves then looking out for customers and providing them a good value. I spent another hour of my evening to finish the job for around $70 in parts total. Very nice staff however, company leadership needs to re evaluate how they charge costumers.

My wife called them to come out and fix a leaky relief value on our hot water heater, they charged her $560 for labor and parts, he was there about an hour. I was shocked when I got home from my business trip. The value at Home Depot is $16. They took full advantage of my wife's inexperience. Do not use them.

This is a place that would tell you at 1:57 that they cannot come for the appointment at 2:00. And the lady called sounds so happy.

I will never use this company again. They will totally rip you off! I used these guys once to replace my hot water dispenser. They gave me an estimate of $750. Seriously! I said to forget it and I'd live without it. So the guy leaves then comes back 5 mins later and says he can do it for $500. I knew it was still too much, but he was already here so I did it.
This time we had a toilet that wouldn't stop running. I thought I'd give them another try. Big mistake! The guy said we needed new innards in the tank. He gave me an estimate of $628. What the @$#%?! He recommended that we get a whole new toilet to the tune of $967. That was it for me. I showed him the door immediately.
I called another plumbing company who fixed the toilet for $202. The guy was fabulous. He also said that he did his apprenticeship at Southwest and that they aren't paid an hourly rate but instead by commission. No wonder they jack up the prices. Grrr...
