I am a do-it-yourself-er that ran into trouble when replacing a toilet refill mechanism turned into a leaking supply line that required I shut off water to my entire unit. I called several companies that night, and Wayne was one who called the next morning. He was there by 1 pm, finished by 2 pm, including the supply line issue and the toilet mechanism replacement. The competing company wanted to charge a hefty ""diagnosis/service"" fee just to show up, never mind parts and labor. Wayne's fee was less than the competitor's ""diagnosis"" fee! This is the reason I have stopped using the competitor, and I'm glad I found an alternative in Wayne.

I found South End Plumbing on Yelp and called because my garbage disposal had stopped working and my sink was getting backed up. Wayne answered my call at 6:30p and by 7:00p my disposal was working again...and the best part...it cost $0!!!! Wayne walked me patiently through every step of how to diagnose the problem and fix the disposal on my own all over the phone.
I highly recommend South End Plumbing and will definitely be going back.

I had a problem with my kitchen sink the day before the memorial day weekend - which apparently is a very difficult day to find a plumber to take a call. Wayne called me back the same day, helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone including looking at some photos I sent him of the situation, and he told me how to fix it since it was reasonably easy. The result was my sink was fixed before the long weekend, and also he did not charge me since he did not need to come in person.

Wayne was fantastic. My garbage disposal was broken (or so I thought). Glass had accidentally gone down and gotten stuck. I called South End Plumbing to schedule someone to come. I got an answering machine and left a message. Wayne called back a few hours later and said he could try to help me over the phone for free! So he talked me through it (ended up buying an allen wrench from Homed Depot) and followed his advice. He even offered to come later in the evening if it didn't work. Wonderful and friendly service at no cost!

For months we'd suspected running water from our toilet and I'd taken out the handbook to figure out an adjustment that would stop it. Not much of a fix- our most recent water bill was up $500! We called Wayne who came over that evening, diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it with supplies he had with him. It was all fixed within an hour and for a fraction of what we were squandering with the leak.

Our water heater went just a week ago (last week of February, when it was super cold!), and it left our basement inundated! I called Wayne to see if he could replace our hot water heater that day. Thankfully, he said he could be there by 12pm, and he also offered the service of pumping the water out (for an additional fee). This was really helpful because another company told me they would not put in the water heater until I called yet another company to pump out the water from the basement. That would have left us without a water heater for 24+ hours! Wayne worked hard and got the job done by about 5pm. It was great to have hot water the same day. Extra props that he did all this on such a bitterly cold day!

I called South End Plumbing to see if they could replace two water heaters in a 3-family building as soon as possible. I spoke to Patrick on the phone. I described the features that were important to me and he suggested one that I thought was great, exactly what I was looking for. They said they would be here by 6pm with two water heaters to install. They called at 5:50pm to say they were running late and would be there in an hour. They arrived at 7:30. Patrick was angry and said he should have charged me more. I showed him where the water heaters would go and he said he would do it, and it would be about three hours. The brand name on the water heater they brought in was not the brand name we had talked about on the phone. When we asked about that, they said they were honest plumbers and would not stand by and be called cheats, and they put the water heater back on the hand truck and started wheeling it away. I said tell me about this water heater -- maybe it has the features we discussed -- and I went to look at it but one of them stood between me and the water heater and said ""you're not going to see any of the numbers on this thing"" and they wheeled it out. On the way out they were rude to a neighbor who was just trying to get up the steps to his home. They both seemed very angry at me because they were here late in the evening, even though I only agreed to all the times they suggested. And nobody accused them of being cheats -- maybe the model they brought met all the requirements we discussed -- though I'd say it's kind of suspicious that they wouldn't even let me look at it after they had brought it into my basement.

I made an appointment with Wayne for the next day at 7 AM to fix my garbage disposal. At 7:15 AM I called him and he had forgotten about the appointment. He managed to get to me within half an hour, but ended up charging me $155 to press a red button under the disposal that said ""RESET"".

He was not even at my place for 10 minutes, and charged me $155, which he said was his ""hourly rate"". Never using this service again.

I needed a plumber to hook up my new sink, faucet, and old garbage disposal. After attempting to contact a couple of other plumbers who didn't answer or return my call, I easily reached Wayne. He arrived promptly the morning we agreed on. The faucet I bought was missing a part, but Wayne made a makeshift replacement to solve the problem. He also suggested a different garbage disposal than the one I had, and he swapped it out with a better one he had stocked in his truck. I got tips on how to care for and fix a nonworking disposal.
