Being a third-generation plumber, I have lived here in the Hermosa Beach area. Previously, I operated Findley's Plumbing & Heating with license number 295384. My grandfather, George Findley, started the business in the late 60s, and my father joined the team in the late 70s. I have faced nearly every situation in this field. Grounded in the values of good faith and handshake agreements, we aim to provide the highest quality service in what can be a challenging situation, all at fair prices. We believe in leaving the work area cleaner than when we arrived, and we respect our clients completely. Word of mouth is our best advertisement!

I called a plumber that I have used and apparently he had gone out of business. Somehow the phone number was re routed to South Bay Plumbing and Heating. My tenant had called me and stated the hot water heater was not working and he had tried re started the hot water heater but it would not work. That's is when I called my plumber. As stated, the number was re routed to South Bay heating and Plumbing. I agreed to met them at the property. Once I was at the property, I started to investigate the problem. The problem was the tenant did not know how to re light the hot water heater. South bay Heating appeared about that time. I decided with my experience as a property manager, The gas lines needed to be cleared from the gas in the lines to restart it. Two so called plumbers from South Bay watched me and remained on the phone calling their office I assume. After about 10 minutes, the lines were cleared from the gas and the water heater started right up. Then the two plumbers started to turn down the water heater so the water would not heat up. I told them stop turning down the temperature level, I want to make sure it is working. Mean while, one of the plumbing representatives, continued watching me and talked on the phone.
After about 30 minutes, the tenant told me the water was hot and he thanked me for fixing the problem. I told the plumbers I guess I do not need you after all. They go out to their truck and write up an inflated bill and handed it to me. To say I was upset would be an under statement because the facts were, these two so called plumbers were clueless and they did absolutely nothing. Later there boss calls me on the phone and starts badgering me and trying to justify there ridiculous bills. I would not ever recommend these clueless individuals as you can read from other post, these guys are only interested in one thing. That one thing is emptying your wallet. This is why I have them one star.

Jay and his crew were honest, reliable and timely. He's definitely going to be our go to for any of our plumbing/heating issues!

Extremely unprofessional service. Plummer who showed up at my job was late, didn't wear a mask, and made a mess. Became hostile when I asked him to clean up. Will not be recommending this company to any of my friends or family. Was extremely disappointed with their unprofessionalism.

I can't say enough about how great my experience with Jay was. He did an amazing job explaining exactly what my different options were and didn't try to oversell services or products. He installed and new wall heater and replaced all the venting, and even got the job done sooner than we expected. I felt very comfortable dealing with him. He was very professional, cordial, and reasonable. He definitely exceeded my expectations. Thanks Jay!!

Warm at last! We have had a few nights and early mornings that have been sooo cooold! After fumigation The Gas Co refused to relight the pilot -they won't go under the house any more. Jay is one of the few plumbers who can work on old floor heaters. He and his assistant did their magic, and the heater is working great!

South bay plumbing and heating was quick to respond, clean and quick to help out with a drain issue at my place. Thats how they get their 3 stars. There was some back and forth communication between what are the next steps with regards to an other project at my place and as a result there was some miscommunication and i ended up delaying the payment for clearing my bathroom drain by a week. I was under the impression that they might come back to do more work or either tell that they will not work further. I called the owner of this company Jay after making the payment and apologized for the delay and was trying to talk further about next work. But by then he was super pissed for this delay and kept on ranting about it for few minutes. I tried to acknowledge again and said i apologize for the delay, but he was in no mood to ease out and blatantly cut my call saying he doesn't want to talk any further.
I understand the business owner ( Jay ) is least bothered about my situation and i am right now running a project at my home dealing with 5 workers ( plumber, electrician, flooring guy, demolition people and gardeners) at the same time. I am no expert at this and trying to juggle around to talk to all of them and that resulted in few mis managements.
I guess from a work execution, this company might have had good guys who do the job right or who knows it could also be wrong. But can a business owner be so impatient with his customers?. Especially when i am acknowledging the delay?. Is this because the project was small and so does it justify the bad communication? If i take a big project and pay big money will this business owner be polite?. I went over the old reviews with similar customers talking about his improper interactions. They might be a great crew, but they sure don't know how to talk with a customer. NOTE: Also the payment was for $125 and not for hundreds or thousands of dollars.

First off, Jay the business owner is one of the nicest guys you'll meet in the plumbing business. My mother's house had a leak causing quite a bit of water damage. I reached out to several plumbers, and Jay was the first to respond and was available to meet the very next morning. He was considerate about our urgent timeline and did his best to match our schedule.
He and his team were meticulous in finding exact location of the leak, and thorough in making sure all areas were completely dry before the patching work. Specifically, even though the area felt completey dry to the touch, Jay insisted on one more day of dehumidifier/fan to do a complete job and didn't charge us extra for the extra day of equipment. Jay appears to have high standards, and he was onsite for most of the job to ensure quality work from his team. His estimate was fair, and 100% worth the price. His accounting is also very professional, using quickbooks and detailed itemized list of the work done.
In addition, both my mom and I were very happy with Martin, who Jay partners with for dry wall patching and painting. Martin gave us a very fair estimate. His work was top notch. He matched our custom paint perfectly and even found the exact same base boards to replace the ones that were damaged by the leak. The area now looks better than before the leak. We were so impressed with Martin's work, we hired him for another job right away.

Jay, the owner of South Bay Plumbing and Heating is exceptional in his response time, knowledge and high quality of work. I've been South Bay Plumbing and Heatings client for over 5 years. I own an early 1900's beach house and Jay has skillfully problem solved all of my plumbing and heating problems created by prior local businesses during a substantial remodel. As well, I feel comfortable and secure having Jay and his assistants in my home and wouldn't hesitate leaving him a key. Thanks Jay! You're the best!

Nothing but praise for Jay and his crew. I have used Jay a couple times at different properties (tankless water heater repair and water line leak in a front yard). Showed up promptly both times and fixed issues right away. Service is first rate and pricing is way better than commercial plumbers that service all over the place. He is very knowledgeable and doesn't try to up-sell you with problems that aren't there. 100% chance I would use again if needed...highly recommend!

I read all of the reviews, and the negative comments were so contrary to my experience with him that I wonder if they might have been placed by his competition. He promptly responded to my phone message; he squeezed me in past the end of his day; he arrived 5 minutes early; he worked in the rain; he explained how warranties work; he described what caused my problem; he fixed it, made what seemed to me a very fair, modest charge, was at all times courteous, patient and friendly.
