On the 4th of July weekend our 6 year old hot water heater failed. I called Whirlpool who opened a Case and they recommended I call Sound Plumbing. The tech from Sound said he didn't have the part to fix my unit and it might be Thursday or 5 days before the part was available because of the Holiday. He explained for $1120 he could replace the unit immediately. He said the old unit was out of warranty. He did a quick and very efficient job. A week later I received an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization} from Whirlpool. Confused I called Whirlpool and found out the unit had a 12 year warranty and someone had tried to get the RMA so they could return my unit to Lowes for a full refund. Since my email was on file it came to me. I called Sound. Even though the Office Manager said nothing went to salvage without her okay, nobody could find my unit. Without the unit, no refund. The owner finally offer a settlement of $250 for an $850 heater I could have returned. I told him it was ""better than a poke in the eye"". This whole think stinks of an inside job but no way to prove it.
I have lodged a Complaint with Whirlpool as well.

I won't recommend Sound to anyone.

I would have used Butter Plumbing because they have done work for us before but didn't have the option on this project.

My gas water heater, purchased from a local Lowe's on 11/02/20111 with an extended parts & labor warranty, stopped working on 06/30/2016. The pilot light was out and could not be reignited despite numerous attempts at troubleshooting. Sound Plumbing was the company that Lowe's sent to repair my water heater and I am most happy that they did. It turns out that the entire Honeywell control valve (white plastic box with flashing light and pilot light/temperature controls) was defective and had to be replaced at no cost under warranty.

The best part of this service experience was the plumber/service technician who came out to do the work. Bill Abella is one knowledgeable plumber (been gathering experience in the field since age 12!) who insists on taking his time, keeping the work area clean, explaining everything to the customer and going above and what is necessary to ensure that the job is done properly and guarantee customer satisfaction. Rumor has it that some Sound Plumbing customers not only specifically ask for him by name, but insist on knowing his phone number for direct-dial access. He's also extremely interesting/enjoyable to have around, a real nice guy and a good conversationalist. Bill Abella is someone you'd be interested in knowing privately, outside of the actual service encounter.

After I also decided to replace the existing tank anode (extreme deterioration readily visible) and install a ball valve for easier future tank draining/flushing in my approximately 4.5 year old water heater (cost of $225.00), Bill ensured that everything was in tip-top working order and also flushed all the air out of the hot water outlets in my house before leaving.

This was by far my best service experience with a plumber bar none; I had never heard of this particular plumbing company before and now I will most likely be using them for all of future plumbing needs! Perhaps, you too should consider using this company's services the next time the need arises?

Very happy with Sound Plumbing. From making the appointment to the service call, sound plumbing was very helpful. Tech showed up on time and within 45 minutes had fixed my problem. Best of all, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to get my faucet fixed. Friendly, professional, and fair prices... I'd recommend them to all my friends and family.

I woke up Tuesday morning and discovered that my hot water heater was broken. I called Sound Heating and Plumbing at 7:30AM and a tech walked me through how to turn off the water and gas lines. They arranged for a tech to come that afternoon and replace my heater - they had taken care of the warranty and everything! The service was quick and efficient, and definitely painless. By 4PM I had a brand new hot water heater and they were cleaned up and gone. I am extremely happy with the service and will definitely call them again if and when I need someone.

I was happy with how quick Sound Plumbing was able to get out to help (I was in town for a couple of days trying to take care of a few things at my mother-in-law's house). I give them 5 stars for how quick they were able to come out. However, the guy didn't seem very experienced, plus we had to make 2 trips to Home Depot for him because he didn't have any parts (adapters) with him. The original bill was for 45 minutes longer than he was here for. We got him to take a half hour off of that, but still felt like we got gouged - not just by the 15 minutes, but because everything seemed to take a while as he seemed one he was confused by a number of steps (just had him replace a shower faucet, kitchen faucet, and secure the toilet down from a prior poor installation). The next time we need help at her house, we'll go with someone else.

Great customer service. Had several issues. Brian was always helpful sorry to hear he is no longer there. Mark came to our rescue. Equally efficient They stand behind their work. Unfortunately, it takes a manager to correct what other techs mess up.

Excellent company!!! I called numerous companies all at once to see who responded, when they responded, how the front office responded and how the actual work was done. The office person was beyond excellent. I explained what type of toilet was having an issue. She asked me to send her the make and model of the toilet and thank goodness since it required a specific part that that's not the typical part. Due to her ability to deduce what was needed, a second day didn't have to be scheduled. Wow! They made it to my speed dial and not everyone makes it there!

Had them out for emergency repair on water heater this weekend. The service tech, Mark was professional and did everything up to code. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. For you single women like me who know nothing about plumbing they are fair and let you know the charges as they go.
