Founded by Gayle Hatfield at 2821 S. Jackson in Seattle.
Originally named Hatfield Plumbing and Heating, it was incorporated in 1950.
In 1952, Lou Soreano began working with Gayle Hatfield and soon became the most sought-after plumber.
Lou became like a son to Gayle Hatfield.
Mr. Hatfield, ready to retire, offered Lou the chance to buy the business.
In 1967, Lou acquired the business and added Soreano's to the name.
Initially, we were known as Soreano's Hatfield Plumbing.
In 1973, Lou relocated the business to its current site in Columbia City.
With the addition of a showroom, the business thrived and gained an excellent reputation.
Growing up in the family business, Lou's son Ron learned the plumbing trade.
In 1996, Ron became the owner after buying the business from Lou.
We no longer use Hatfield in our business name.
Now, we proudly operate as Soreano's Plumbing.

Recommended Customer Reviews
Darlene S.Awesome customer service!!!! Our kitchen faucet leaked again and even though they were filled up with appointments, they managed to send Mike out the same day I called. After checking out the faucet, he recommended a new, different one and replaced the faucet with a new one and was very thorough, efficient and quick and he didn't even charge for the service call or labor. We were so impressed with the customer service from the office to the plumber Mike....obviously they stand behind the products they sell. They made our holidays!!!! Will definitely call them again!
Tyler L.My friend recommended Soreano's when I thought our water heater had died. The guys were so nice and helpful when I called and were able to schedule a visit the next day (and said if you call before noon, they can usually get there that afternoon). Turns out I was able to relight the pilot light and our water heater is fine, so I called to cancel. Again, the guy was so nice and even gave me information about what to do if the pilot light goes out again and that it might be an easy/cheap thing to fix. We ended up not needing their services this time, but I will definitely call them again if I ever need any plumbing or water heater work!
Poor service, over charged! Left backwater spots on my hardwood floor.
NOT happy with my service or with the young lad they sent out!!!
Howard C.If you are looking for a plumber who would rather refund your money than to make a situation right.... This is your place!
Soreano's has knowledgeable plumbers who seem to be able to deal with most situations... it's the guys back at the office who leave a bit to be desired.
We had a faucet going bad, which we were informed was a warrantied replacement from Price-Pfister... groovy! Soreanos suggested the 'Porland' model, but the height was too low for my wife's use so she picked out the 'Alina' model, which was a similar cost. Comes the day for the faucet to be installed and they put in the 'Portland' instead, (so accuracy in product ordering is not a strong suit for them).
For some reason they would rather just refund my money for installation (which was a touch on the steep side) than get the right part in and have a happy customer... Up to that point they were on for a four star review, But as they are in no way interested in basic customer service, they get what they get.
Now I am stuck going out and buying a faucet that should have been a warrantied replacement and either installing it myself (not a confident plumber) or paying for a plumber to do the job... yeah, not Soreano's for sure.
Jason H.After an unexplained leak in our ceiling we called Soreano's. They came quickly (a positive), and were friendly (another positive). They were not able to find or fix the leak though and the visit cost $400+. They did however leave an itemized invoice - which seems to be another problem people report in their reviews.
After waiting several days the top rated plumbers on yelp showed up and found and fixed the leak for $60.
Soreano's had exactly the obscure plumbing part I needed when none of the box stores did. They were even able to improvise a tool to remove the part when nobody carries the (expensive) tool. The service was quick and helpful. Their showroom is full of neat sinks, tubs, and other plumbing-related gadgets to look at.
Like some others with high reviews here, I am surprised at the negative reviews from others, because my wife and I have had multiple encounters with Soreano's Plumbing in the past 5 years, and all have been very positive.
We own a rental house in Wallingford, and in 2011 they replaced the hot water heater and also the garbage disposal in the kitchen, and we were very pleased with everything from the scheduling through to the completion of the job.
We live about a mile from their office, and at least 3 times in the past 4-5 years I've had minor plumbing issues (two Moen shower valves, and one other problem I no longer remember the specifics of). I've called and described the problem, and asked them if I could do it myself, or did I need to schedule an appointment. In each case, they asked a few questions, told me how to get started, and invited me to take a few photos after I got the area exposed, and bring them in. I did so, and in each case, they described just what I should do, in language I could understand. And in all three cases, I was able to finish the project myself without any catastrophes. Only once did I need to go back, and that was to purchase a new cartridge for one of the Moen valves, that had gone bad.
They were patient, courteous, and didn't belittle or demean my ignorance.
Today's problem (only cold water coming from the shower head, regardless of where the valve was turned) I was able to rectify without any cost whatsoever.
Today I talked at different times with both Roger and Ron (I think those were their names) and both were great.
I almost didn't call today, after reading the negative experiences on this page. I'm glad I did, and I'll use them again in the future.
Had a clogged sink, which I tried to fix by myself. Finally, after a day without water in the kitchen I called Soreano's. The came over the next day. The plumber recommended replacing the older galvanized shutoff valves with new ones. The plumber implied that it would not cost very much to do. The problem started when one of the old shutoffs refused to come off. He applied a lot of force and it finally gave. Later on in the repair, it turned out that he had damaged the copper connection, which cause a massive leak the spread down into the basement. This added another 45 minutes to the repair and additional materials, which he diligently added to the bill for his services. I followed up a couple of days later with Soreano's about charges incurred as a result of the damage done by their employee. They told me that according to their policy, if they broke something it must have been brittle to begin with, so the cost of the repair is on me. They never mentioned this policy when I was inquiring about their services, so I though I would bring it to the attention of my fellow yelpers.
I've always found Soreaon's to do good work and be very reliable. The only plumber who's ever done work on my properties is Rex and I'd highly recommend him. They're pretty pricey, but Rex does a good job.
I have been using Soreano's for many, many years. Just starting with the wonderful person who answers the telephone, Deborah. She always listens and then solves the problem for me. Marvelous Mike is a wonderful patient person who has always come to our house with a smile and ready to help us. Mr. Soreano, the boss, is a true gentleman.
Thank you to everyone at Soreano's!
