Bought a Lennox furnace and ac from Sobieski thru Costco, it was a good deal with the Costco rebates and other rebates from PECO and Energy Star tax credits. Installation was top notch, the techs were on time, polite and knowledgeable, hopefully the system performs reliably going forward.

Had to call 4 times to try to schedule an appointment under the maintenance contract i have with them. Left messages each time but no return call
Finally got them by email. First appointment they have is 6 weeks away. Not great service for a $240 maintenance contract.

Our HVAC suddenly stopped working early this morning. I called Sobieski and the rep (Edward I think) was very responsive. He said he couldn't promise service today but will put us on a list in case they get a cancellation. Later in the morning, Amber (worked with her before--she's great) called and said a tech will arrive in about 30 mins. Our tech, Cody, was excellent: polite, knowledgeable, and fixed the problem. He also explained what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future. We haven't always had great service from Sobieski but in the future, if Cody is dispatched to us, I'm sure we will.

This company is the biggest ripoff I have ever seen. Had my A/c installed by them 4 years ago, This month it was running warm so I called for service, Came out told my that some fittings were loose and my Ac coil was leaking. Since the system was 4 years old the parts ( ac coil was covered) but the labor to install would cost 2300.00 . The job would take no more than 4 hrs as per the tech that's 575.00 Hr . Don't you think for that amount i am also paying for the coil which should have been free under warranty. Not to mention they charged me 1700.00 for a recharge, very expensive Freon ( rip off). The tech stated that coil is leaking in the back and he can't show me the leak besides he forgot his bubbles. How convenient,I truly believe that he was lying to me to cover up the faulty workmanship of the fittings be loose from the start. So in order to get paid for the Freon which was lost due to faulty workmanship, he claims my 4 year old ac coil has a leak that I can't see. I lost 1700.00 because of their lousy workmanship , not to mention that the new system cost me over 12k. Stay away for this fraudulent company, I tried contacting them but there was no response, cause I caught them in the act, I did not have my Coil replaced and everything is fine, beware of them , the bigger they are the more greedy they get

Their drivers drive so aggressively. Whoever the driver was almost caused three accidents on just one block.

Absolutely dropped the ball on an Emergency Service call. 73 hour wait for a tech and 94 degree heat with no A/C. Said the Tech was enroute at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday and never arrived until 5 p.m. on Monday. If only there was less than a 1 star rating.!

We have a brand new NV home, Sobieski was used to install our HVAC and thermostats.

There was not one part they installed correctly. From thermostats first installing wrong ones, then not installing properly actually none were, then setting them so wrong our bills were insane, they had no idea what they were doing. Now HVAC is again completely installed improperly. We have extremely hot air coming out of the intake vent that is wrong. So was the rest of the unit inside and out. UGH.

Do not use them they literally have no idea what they are doing.

I have been dealing with Sobieski for several years, and have been totally dissatisfied with the company. Sobieski installed my A/C system, and promised that they would give me stellar service. What a lie that was! Last year they cancelled a service appointment at the last moment, and the receptionist, who conveyed the bad news, hung up the phone on me. Today, I drove three hours from my home in DC to Lewes, Delaware, for a contract-guaranteed service call on my A/C unit. The window of opportunity for the service call was sometime between 12 noon and 5pm. Around 4pm I became concerned and called the office. I was told that my appointment had been cancelled and that I could reschedule sometime in August, close to the end of the summer! Had I not called, I would not have known that Sobieski cancelled my appointment. I promptly called the office and asked for the names and contact information of supervisors. I wrote an email to two of them and indicated I would be filing a lawsuit unless Sobieski kept the appointment. I am an attorney. I informed the recipients of my email that I would be suing Sobieski for the refund of my contract fee, attorney fees and court costs. Within approximately 20 minutes of my email, I received a call indicating that a service technician would be at my home within a half hour. The tech arrived and performed the service. One should not have to threaten a lawsuit to have a company perform a service call under a contract maintenance agreement. I strongly urge anyone reading this email and contemplating hiring Sobieski to service its heating and A/C system not to even think of doing so. You will not get service as promised, and you will have service calls canceled with no advance notification. I intend to notify the Better Business Bureau of the firm's unprofessionalism and failure to honor service contracts. Beware of hiring this firm.

My Heat Pump/AC unit needed replacement and I called American Home Shields since I had a warranty contract with them. They sent out Family Heating & Cooling which came out to replace my unit in 2020. It took four weeks for Matt to call AHS to order the unit and grill size needed. AHS told me that the delay was due to Matt not returning their calls. He also did not return my calls during this time. When they finally came out with the unit, Matt ordered the wrong color and size of the outside Grill/Louver. I brought this to Matt's attention many times and one of the technicians and Matt lied to me saying that this was the only size grill for this unit which I learned was not true. I discussed this concern many times with Matt regarding the size and the approval of the HOA in the development. He told me to call him if this happens. Just a few days after my year end warranty with FH&C expired, I told Matt regarding the issue with the size and that I would be fine if louver is not corrected. I contacted Matt as soon as I received a notice from the HOA which happened to be a year later. He said I was on my own since the warranty expired. He has refused again not to return my calls, respond to my emails, or text. Even American Home Shield said they cannot help me because my contract expired. I refused to renew my contract with them due to this issue. I am now working on my own and with the HOA and an HVAC company to get the proper size louver/grill. I would never have Family Heating & Cooling do work for me again or have a warranty contract with American Home Shields. They are irresponsible, unreliable, and don't know what they are doing. This is not over yet!!!!

We had work done in 2019 with the installation of a heat pump, furnace, and A/C system. Had somebody come out TWICE before the date of installation to take measurements. Day of installation comes (I took off from work for the day to be there), old system removed, SURPRISE! New furnace doesn't fit. They first tell me that they're looking in the area for another system. Then they tell me they found one, and it's better than the old one, for the same price! ""That's nice"", I say, what brand is it? ""We don't know"". How can you tell me it's better when you don't even know what is? I have no complaints about the installers, who were put in a bad situation and worked almost till midnight to get it installed.
Fast forward a year. The digital thermometer they installed goes black; we have no heat, only cold air blowing in. The tech fixes it after two visits, or so we thought. Stops working again (in middle of Winter), tech says he doesn't know what's wrong, I'll try one more thing, but if this doesn't work, I don't know what to do. Fortunately after two more visits it does work, but not exactly what you are looking for in a new install. Fast forward to 2021, we sign a service contract with them (in order to maintain warranty we have to get it serviced). I try to get our annual heater maintenance appointment. They tell me they can only come Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm off on Wednesdays, you can't come then? They book me and tell me they'll make an exception for me. Day of the service comes; I get a call shortly before the arrival time that the technician can't come today and I'll have to reschedule. So we reschedule to a day when my wife will be home as I am at work, I give them her number to call on the day of service. I call the morning of the day of service and get their voicemail, telling them again to call my wife when they are on their way and giving her phone number. Later in the day tech calls me at work where I can't pick up, followed a minute later by the home office saying they'll have to reschedule since I'm not at home. I call them back eight minutes later to tell them someone is home, but they tell me they can't come out today, but we can come out three days hence. So now one of us has to stay home AGAIN in the hopes that these people will finally come out.
Overall the lack of competence and lack of respect for customers' time make this company one I cannot recommend at all.
