I have lived in Tipton County for 6 1/2 years and have had to call upon a plumber more than a few times for emergencies. Smiths Plumbing, however, is now my go to company and the only plumbing service I will use now and in the future. Their customer service is phenomenal, they don't try to sell you something you don't need, and, they get it right the first time. This company will do what it takes to ensure customer satisfaction.

Updated: The owner reached out to me and apologized, saying I never should have been told I would be charged a fee to estimate a large job, they only charge service fees for routine house calls. And he got their receptionist to call me right away to schedule an appointment. I will say that the guy who came to estimate the job was very friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain things to me. In the end, however, their quote was 75% higher than the lowest quote I received from another BBB A+ rated company, so I didn't choose Smith's. I've changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I'm sure they are good, but very, very expensive - at least in my case.
Original: I have an old house with mostly original plumbing, so after many decades my water pressure is very low. I've called three plumbers to come out and give estimates for replacing the water lines from the meter at the street, into and through the house. Smith's is the only one of the three who wanted to charge a $59 fee just to come out for an estimate! I've never heard of such a thing! so I said ""no way!"". Estimates are just the cost of doing business - so I'll choose another plumber. For the sake of a $59 charge, these guys lost out on bidding a job that would have made them several thousand $$ ...

I called Smith's Plumbing because my hot water heater wasn't working properly. The technician James they sent out was awesome! He was very kind and explained all of my options. He even showed me everything before and after. It is so nice to be able to take a hot bath again. Thank you Smith's plumbing for having great employees like James!

I found Smith's Plumbing using an internet search and was impressed by their good reviews. I read their website and called them to fix a leaky faucet.

Unfortunately I did not ask for a written estimate before the work proceeded. I wish I had because there were added charges for ""after-hours"" work that Smith's charged me. I explicitly stated that my case was not an emergency on my initial phone contact and yet 2 of their plumbers called me on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), to make an appointment. I refused the Thursday appointment because it was not an emergency. Then I agreed to a Friday appointment--which they were unable to make--and then a Saturday appointment was fixed. Making the Saturday appointment incurred all the extra fees. Lesson learned: always get a written estimate before anything is done.

Their website lists only the 59 dollar dispatch fee and has no stated schedule of holiday hours, after hours, or emergency fees. This is not right. Obviously I did not schedule an appointment on Thursday Thanksgiving, but if they are calling me on Friday and Saturday to set up an appointment and these days are part of the holiday or after hours period which incurs added charges, they need to say so clearly before scheduling the appointment.

I am not giving them a 1 star rating because they are very good in other respects: they respond very quickly to phone messages, and do very good work. I am just not satisfied with the charges.

after the debacle with smith's ridiculous fees and failure to discover a cause of the leak, the next day my homeowner's association sent out their plumber and, after being very thorough, found the leak coming from my neighbor's refrigerator who lives directly above me. I was charged nothing for a few minutes of work, checking for the cause, and for stopping the leak completely. For that, I would've gladly paid twice as much as smith's wanted initially but their GREED got the best of them. I was hoping they wanted to take me to court. maybe you still do smith's. i remember dustin saying on the phone that it wasnt their fault that they couldn't find a cause or fix the leak. uh dustin, thats what plumbers do pal. if they stay 30 minutes, they'll swear they were there for 2 hours. The smith's guy said to me every time I drill a hole in your ceiling or wall, its 125 dollars. what? seriously? don't fall for their crap. stay far away from smith's. as I told dustin, I have a choice in plumber's in Memphis pal.

We had a great experience with these guys this week after our hot water heater EXPLOADED In our attic. They were able to transition us to a new Hot Water heater in a days time. I would highly recommend them. They are professional, courteous and very good at what they do!

Highly recommend Smith's Plumping! Same day service and quality work. It's nice to have a small family owned and operated business in town that stands by their work. I will definitely use them in the future.
