Although he cannot hammer a nail, saw a 2-by-4, or paint, Mark Brannon loves the vibrancy and activity of construction. This passion runs in the family, which owns Smith Electric Service. Thus, when the 54-year-old Santa Maria man, affected by cerebral palsy since birth, visits the Vocational Training Center, where his family's business is helping construct the new Quality Life Services center, he feels right at home.

Smith Electric is partnering with Diani Construction for this project, which is part of the Brannon family's ongoing commitment to support the organization, as stated by Kirk Spry, the CEO. “I cannot emphasize enough how much the Brannon family supports VTC,” Spry said. “They have exceeded simple involvement. The Brannons' relationship with VTC started in 1978.
