Just had them in to fix a leaky shower after another plumbing company quoted me what turned out to be 6x the cost to repair. These guys communicated well as to when they'd be at my house, were professional, and got the job done quickly. They will definitely be my go to plumbing company from here on out.

Professional, simply amazing service. I had Simply Green come out to give me an estimate for a some plumbing and pipe work in a small bathroom remodel. The price was very reasonable considering the work to be done. The guys came out the next day and were rocking out from the moment they arrived. Justin, Tom, and Eric exemplified professionalism and were incredibly courteous and explained step by step what they were doing and maintained constant communication with me. Great guys, great crew. John, the big boss came out and went above and beyond. Appreciate all the help fellas.

When I saw the work done (excellent) for my neighbor (complete water line replacement out to the street) Simply Green was an easy phone call to make when my water heater failed.

We love our plumber! How many folks can say that?
My parents' San Jose home is 50 years old and so is it's plumbing. The line to the street would periodically back up and with no external cleanout for the kitchen it could only be cleared from beneath the house. At some point years ago the path of least resistance was to stop putting anything down the sink except nearly clear water. Everything normally allowed down the drain had to go into the trash. Great in theory, difficult in practice. Especially with guests and a large family.
So we wanted to gift my parents a new kitchen sink disposer and install a new cleanout line that didn't previously exist and it had to be coordinated from Ventura, some 300 miles away.
When I checked the Yelp! reviews I was astonished to find a plumbing company in nearby Los Gatos with 69 reviews and 4.5 stars... not a restaurant. A Plumbing company! You know what they say about things sounding too good to be true? So I spent some time reading the reviews carefully and compared the ratings to all other plumbers in the area and their websites. There was no compare.
I called on a Friday, left a voicemail explaining what we needed and to contact my Mom to set up the walk-thru. That weekend Russell called my Mom 3 times! to schedule the service. I was pleasantly surprised that they had played some phone tag (what plumbing company does this?) and again thought this is too good to be true. There's gotta be a catch.
But there wasn't. On the following Wednesday Gary arrived as scheduled for the estimate which was very reasonable so we gave him the green light. On the following Tuesday Gary, John and Erick arrived on time and installed a new ¾ hp disposer unit and tied in a cleanout which did not previously exist. Mom said they were quick, polite and cleaned up after themselves like they were never there. We paid via credit card over the phone and they sent me pics the following day. All was good.
But there was an issue. Fortunately it went in our favor.
While under the house they found that the galvanized pipe joined to the sewer main was extremely corroded and the metal straps had broken. Should it burst then, by law, a hazmat team would need to be called in to clean up the raw sewage before plumbers would be allowed back under and at a higher cost. I know this was no scare tactic as I had been under the house several times myself and recognized the issue from the pictures they took. So thankfully the timing was perfect.
Gary again explained the process, gave us a verbal quote as he was leaving, then followed up with a written quote which was even lower. Wow. I must be dreaming.
We had SGP back a week later to replace the galvanized pipes which were rusty and failing. John and Eric arrived on time, performed the work expertly and quickly. The line to the main was completely blocked and, as planned, they dug around it, cut off as much of the old corroded pipe as possible to get to the clean section of pipe, re-threaded it and connected new PVC. They also replaced all the galvanized pipes all the way through with new PVC essentially giving my parents a brand new system. After snaking to the street to ensure the line was clear and testing the system from above they cleaned up and left. SGP sent several before and after pics to me the following day.
Dad called to say he's happy beyond words and Mom said they patiently explained everything, were courteous and again, left the house as clean as if they had never been there. She said she liked them so much she wanted them as friends!
Quick responses and timely follow-ups from Russell and Jessica in the office and Gary in the field. Great pricing, clean, professional work done right the first time and with a 10-year guarantee on parts and labor. The entire team was honest and reliable from start to finish. Too good to be true? We're still pinching ourselves.

For SimplyGreen your experience is highly dependent on which plumber you get from them.
For my first experience - I had an issue with a toilet and a sink.
This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a plumbing company. In the office, the staff was pleasant, quick, responsive on the phone, and did a great follow up afterwards. I got Ken in the house. Not only did he fix things, but he explained what he was fixing, how it gets fixed, what I could do to minimize the chances of the same problems coming up later. Love it when someone teaches you stuff as well as fixes. Makes us all better off! I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend to anyone at all.
For my second experience - I had an issue with a water heater.
The water heater was still under warranty (only 3 years old) and the issue I was experiencing was a known problem. I contacted the manufacturer's technical support line and they sent me a replacement part overnight. I had the part in-hand when I contacted SimplyGreen. The plumber who came out wouldn't even consider replacing the part. Instead he uses severe scare tactics to try and convince me that it needed replacement. If that weren't bad enough, the estimate he gave me was twice as high as it should have been and more than twice as high as the cost of the replacement that gave me this water heater only 3 years before. Costs don't go up that much in the span of three years. (As was confirmed by a competitive estimate by the plumber that I finally hired to do the repair - not SimplyGreen.)
So, your mileage may vary with SimplyGreen and is highly dependent on who they send out to you. Trust yourself. Call the manufacturer if you've got an issue with a major appliance, like a water heater, and then proceed ahead.

I called Simply Green because our kitchen sink was backing up. I was afraid it was going to be a costly job because I know our pipes are old. Russ came out and was super friendly and honest. He spent extra time going over different options with me that would fit into my budget; and he did a great job! I know that I will definitely be using them again in the future!

I'm not even sure how to compliment this company enough. Earlier this year PGE shut off the gas to my parent's house saying that they had detected a gas leak. I was told to call a plumber. I had no idea they took care of these things! But it took calling at least 5 places, most of whom had no idea what to do and others who said they were not available for weeks, to find Simply Green Plumbing and I am so happy I did.
Jessica, at the office, immediately put me in contact with Gary and the process began right away. Not only did Gary walk me through all the steps it took to confirm the gas leak and detect which valve, they also discovered in the process that there was a major water leak going on underneath the house as well. Not good news at all, but made so much easier and fun actually because I was working with Gary and his crew. Gary was very easy to talk to and did not mind walking me through every step. I was never left wondering what was going to happen next and the cost was estimated for me up front.
Though the job took longer because of the water leak under the house (They had to dry it out), I was kept in the loop and everything was kept to schedule for the whole process. Not only did Simply Green Plumbing help me out with a huge job but they also communicated quickly and clearly with my insurance adjustor so that they received all the information they needed in a prompt manner to process my claim. Gary predicted that my parent's water and gas bill would fall dramatically and it did.
Other things these guys did:
-made sure that the house stayed clean when they had to walk through and get to the crawl space under the house
-actually drove back to my house when they saw the PGE inspector driving towards my home so that they could talk to him themselves
-dealt with my claims adjustor via email multiple times without my prompting to get my claim processed
This company is seriously above and beyond all expectations. I can't say enough.

Honest and dependable!
Very impressed with the entire operation of Simply Green! My garbage disposal stopped on a Sunday. I booked the appointment Monday and was given a two hour window for Tuesday. Tuesday morning they called and said they could come out earlier IF it was convenient for me. The office told me to expect John and indeed John showed up. He was great! Made sure he covered his shoes before he stepped into the house, took a look, fixed the problem, made sure everything was tightened up, and told me that although my disposal is older he didn't see any reason to replace it at this time. He also told me to give them a call if there were any problems. Wednesday morning and the office just called to follow up and make sure everything was taken care of and running smoothly. I will absolutely call them again.
