Chris and his crew just completed a full plumbing and fixture install for brand new bathroom in our guesthouse. My wife and I could not be happier with our Simms experience. Chris was the first to respond to my original yelp request for the job and provided an estimate significantly lower than several other local plumbing outfits. While some shady operators may try to pull a bait and switch with a low bid and then hit you with change orders/unanticipated expenses, Chris is not one of those dudes. I would not hesitate to hire Simms plumbing again... and again and again... excellent bang for your buck, honest and straightforward communication, and first class work.

Chris is great to work with!
He is good at his job, he is friendly, he is knowledgeable, and has a great skill!
There was a huge plumbing issue that caused leaking to the first floor, but he solved the issue!
Thanks again!

This is a lengthy review from an unhappy customer. I was assigned this company via a home warranty service on August 15. I believe the technician came out the next day. He looked at our faucet and said he'd go to the store and get a faucet and come back. He didn't come back.

I spoke with Chris, the owner a few days later and asked him what was going on. Chris told me that warranty calls didn't pay him that much and our faucet order would be sent in to Amazon with some of their other orders.

Fast forward to Sept 5. I received a phone message from Ashley. I didn't answer the call because is was from an unknown number, and I thought it was a SPAM call at first because it was from a (928) area code. When I realized who it was, I immediately called right back and got no answer, but I left a message. A little while later, I got a text message from the warranty company stating an appointment had been scheduled for that day between 1PM-5PM. I was surprised, as Ashley's message had said for me to call to have her schedule an appointment.

At 1PM on Sept 5, the technician came out and was here for a few minutes and said the 'girl at the office' had given him the wrong part and he would go back to the office and get the correct part. He left at approximately 1:25 PM. We waited until 5:30 and he never showed back up.
I called Chris the next day and he told me to call the office, which I did. Again, no answer and I left a message.

On Sept 6, I called Chris who told me to call the office. I told Chris I'd called the office numerous times and never got a call back. He said he'd call the office. I never heard back from Chris that day.

Today, August 7, I texted Chris again and asked him what was going on. I got a text back from Chris which said the warranty company was cashing me out.

I just got off the phone with the warranty company who knew nothing about cashing me out and said they couldn't assign another contractor to me because Simms Plumbing was assigned to me. I told the warranty person that they didn't seem to want to fix my faucet. Mario, at the warranty company then tried to call Simms and Mario got no answer and left a message.
And....the faucet is still broken.

My new found favorite plumber. Helped us at Christmas time when our regular never returned our call (still hasn't). Just had him replace my mothers' water heater. Same as before: Uber polite and professional. Can't say enough this company. Kudos to Brian for a great job.

Simms said everything I wanted to hear the first time we spoke. Scheduled a time without a problem. Then did not show. We rescheduled and they made up an excuse to why they did not show. I needed the help and did not want to start this process again, so we continued with them. Since they would be coming to my unit I had to be friendly vs getting in an argument why they did not show and then having them in my place.

If zero stars was an option, I would give them minus. They were not cheap and they wasted my time which is even more important.

Once you know... we all have options and instead of going in to the details, I will just say beware, they are bad... don't use them. I should have looked here first

If you keep reading, Simms has no customer service. They have little to no communication skills. We scheduled an appoinment and blocked out 3 hours. They did not show multiple times.

They do the work that is requested, but it is probably more difficult to find a plumber who cannot fix a broken item, so that is not saying much. It is very surprising in a time when people are looking for business, Simms appears to not be interested.

I would suggest to go somewhere else. Not even worth trying Simms, because there are plenty of options. Obviously I will not call them again.

I originally posted a poor review. However, i was mistaken in my original understanding of the facts and am writing now to correct it. Based upon my conversation with Chris, the owner, I am changing to 5 star based on the fact that he handled my complaint in a very professional manner.

He's coming in two weeks to do the job, and I won't comment further until the job is complete. From the discussion, I am expecting he'll do a great job and I will recommend him highly.

WARNO: Do NOT use Simms Plumbing. They installed a new water for me that went sideways. The new gas water heater was placed a on plastic pan (not okay). The strapping and tank was not secured; with one hand and very litttle pressure, I could shake already the already wobbly unstable tank. Reused old fitting and lines...oh yeah and it took two weeks to finish the job and that was the end result. Horrible Experience.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ON POINT PLUMBING FOR HELPING ME OUT OF THIS MESS!

Chris did a GREAT job in a timely, professional manner.
Our gas was shut off in the middle of the night (a leak had been detected by SoCal Gas). He came up with the solution, rallied a crew, and completed the job in the time frame as promised. The job turned out to be more difficult than anticipated, but he kept to his timeline and his price was very fair. I will call him with any future plumbing needs and can recommend him highly.

Chris was amazing! Listened to all of our request and suggested low cost adjustments. He saw that we were struggling without a kitchen (for 7 months) and said he could help out with bracing the cabinents and placing the countertops,
farm sink and bridge faucet since he had just did the same in his own house. We are still waiting on a permit from SLO so everything is a little raw but now it's functional and beautiful! The barn has been empty for 22 years and Chris was extremely helpful and patient with any roadblocks that we encountered.
Lots of work ahead, but we are glad that we can have confidence in Chris's work.

Very nice young man who arrived when he said he would. Then proceeded to accomplish the task as required. More than satisfied with his work and ability! He cleaned up and was on his way. He charged a reasonable fee and was very pleasant. I recommend him highly.
