Before founding Sila, Jack's journey started working alongside his father, Steve Rothacker at a company named Unique Indoor Comfort Services. Guided by his father, Jack built an exceptional team that grew their business into the Philadelphia market, evolving the family business into an exciting regional company. In 2010, Jack restructured that business into an independent entity and rebranded it as Sila Heating & Air Conditioning.
In spite of steady growth and impressive accomplishments, Sila remains rooted in family values, with Jack Rothacker still providing his expertise and support as a mentor and key member of Sila's Board of Directors.

Suzee Q.I'm very conflicted here. I actually had my high velocity AC system installed earlier this year by another company which gave me a better price with less pressure by the salesperson. But that company (Valley Mechanical) was unresponsive when it came to making a small fix - they aren't local. Sila responded quickly and are closer to me but the cost for about an hour's work and few inexpensive parts was SO STEEP that I really felt gouged!
--- Dennis Diagnosed why my A/C wasn't working. He even showed me pictures of the problem. Dennis also told me how old my unit is. He arrived on time, put booties on his feet and went about his work. He is thorough and courteous. Without me asking, Dennis took the time, in the rain, to write down the serial numbers so that I would know how old my unit is. Dennis is much more informative and helpful than the guy from bruni campisi whom came yesterday ---
We had an emergency (leak) noticed fairly late on a Friday night. We were going out of town late Saturday afternoon and had commitments in the morning, so there was a very small window to come to make a repair. We had never used Sila before, but they made it a priority to meet our time needs and be there to diagnose and repair our issue within the very limited time frame we had. Great service by Dennis, and I'd call them again.
Addi H.We had our SpacePak AC System installed by Sila about 3 years ago. It is one of the best things we've done for the house (besides redoing out entire kitchen) in any case both getting the SpacePak and redoing the kitchen has drastically improved our quality of life. It's amazing how fast the system cools our 2500 sq ft house. There is a large filtered unit that sucks all of the humidity out of the air of the house and immediately you feel a difference. We keep our unit at around 78F when it is hot and the house feels awesome. I love how it dissipates the humidity and at night we can generally switch off the unit and just have ceiling fans on. As for SILA the company you couldn't ask for a better more professional company. From the beginning their attention to detail and customer service has been absolutely the best. They did a bang up job installing. We haven't had one problem in 3 years. Earlier in the summer when I panicked because the system wasn't turning on (first time using this year) I called them in a panic and left a message late at night. Of course then the unit turned on as soon as I hung up so I left another message saying it was actually fine. They still called me back minutes later just to make sure everything was cool. These guys are friendly pros and I know you would be happy with them.
Jordana K.I had a Sila ductless system installed 3 years ago and it hasn't cooled my house sufficiently. I thought perhaps we needed coolant or our air wasn't circulating so I installed ceiling fans. When that didn't help I called Sila and they sent an engineer to remeasure the house to make sure I had a unit powerful enough to cool the house. The manager called me back the same day and said my home was on the border of two sizes. Since I had called previously and it seems other remedies did not work they decided I needed a bigger unit. They apologized and said that their warranty guaranteed my satisfaction!!!! I could not believe my ears! They will be here next week to install. I am so happy with Sila and their promise to all their customers to make things right!!!
Amazing service, called this morning and got a same day appointment. Mike showed up and was awesome, even put on booties to protect the floor, great customer service !!! Will recommend!!!
I have been using Sila for a couple of months now. I have found their technicians and customer service representatives to be delightful. And their prices have been the most reasonable in all my years of needing the assistance of an HVAC company; I wish I found them much sooner than I did.
Jackie M.Mike just completed an AC tune-up and did a great job. He arrived on time and was polite and courteous - he brought his own booties to not track dirt in the house which I thought was a nice touch. He did a thorough inspection and explained everything to me. There was no pressure or upselling. Highly recommended!
Thomas G.I tried Sila out after years of feeling ripped off and dissatisfied with the service of Bruni & Campisi. I made an appointment for a service of my air conditioning system on short notice with a narrow window of availability. I was given an appointment within my window and waited to see what would happen.
The following morning I received a call from Sila telling me that my technician would arrive within 15 minutes. Doug, the technician arrived exactly on time to perform the service.
Doug was the most thorough air conditioning technician who ever set foot in my house. He spent time asking me about my concerns and spent a lot of time going over the system. He pointed out a few issues and I think spent well over two hours at my home. The Bruni & Campisi guys were never here longer than a half hour.
My big problem was that the air flow from the upstairs unit was uneven and in my son's room particularly weak. I had been complaining to B&C's technicians about this for three years and even paid for a ""repair"".
Doug pulled the duct that was servicing this room and discovered that the valance was 80% closed. As a result only a paltry amount of heat and air was getting to the room. He corrected the problem in a minute and I believe the problem which baffled B&C was solved.
I had a little gripe at being charged $99 for him to diagnose that a valve vent on my unit needed to be replaced. But based on the overall cost and time spent I thought the service was outstanding for the price.
I would give 5 stars but I want to see how the system works for the rest of the heating system and during the summer.
Overall I was very satisfied with Doug and Sila. If this service was indicative of the usual work they do, they are top notch.
The technicians arrived exactly at our scheduled appointment time (even on a cold snowy morning) and were friendly, professional and thorough. We just moved in to our home 3 months ago and they answered all our of our questions about our boiler, hot water heater and chimney. Their maintenance check & chimney sealing ensures we are ready for this season. In addition they offered us great next steps on how to keep our home safe and warm for the future. Will definitely reach out to them again!
