READ THIS! My 2¢ as a contractor located in TEXAS.
I register with SERVIZ about a year or so ago. MOST of their requests are just people looking for the most inexpensive price to pay or people without time to do a little research to find a local company.
Out of 10 jobs (FREE ESTIMATES) most like you get three done. Why? I tell you why.
The way SERVIZ set their ""hourly price"" is just a tip of the iceberg! If the contractor follows precisely the way, they charge! The contractor won't make any money but basically to cover the gas!
Let me clarify what I mean about ""just the tip of the iceberg."" Let's take for example a handyman service!
SERVIZ advertise a handyman service as $59/Minimal of 2hrs. That's how it works!
Let's pretending you are looking for to repair 3x2 ceiling sheetrock damage by a water heater leaked. This job can be done in an average of 4-6 hrs with a potential return for sand and finish the next day. The standard ""real"" cost to replace, re-texture and, paint should be around $380-$420 with all material included without any middle guys such as SERVIZ.
If the Contractor stands behind this cost of $420 he/she will be making nothing more than $190 after deducting all material, trip to the store to get supplies, and the next day trip for finish the job. Also, I couldn't forget to mention that you are the one paying tax over the $190.
SERVIZ has this policy they call ""Markup"" which adds up 40% on top of any material that your Contractor expended, so Yes, your starting cost to repair your ceiling should be $588+, depending on how much the Contractor chooses to charge as Material and Extras!

Before you book an appointment with them, do a quick search with keyword: SERVIZ bad reviews. There is NOT a single good review in third-party websites such as google, bing, yahoo, and Yelp about SERVIZ. All the ""good"" reviews you can find online is clear from people that make money inside the company NOT CUSTOMERS. The ""good"" reviews you see on their website, unfortunately, comes from desperate people that didn't have much time to research for a local company to get it done and I can ensure you they were not happy with the final cost.
Try this one: Call them and ask to speak with the manager! They will tell you the number you dial is for book appointments ONLY, but the truth is - YOU HAVE NO ACCESS to talk with the management because there is NO contact number for that. They have only ONE email for contact: support@serviz.com
Why did I decide to post this complaint?
A few weeks ago I tried logging in at SERVIZ app to start to calculate miles I drove regarding SERVIZ estimates and jobs, and for my surprise and without any courtesy email my account has been canceled. I contacted them to check what happens and they state that my ""account it's deactivated due to low conversion, but they can give more information because they are only customer service."" After several emails for dispatch@serviz.com, I never received any reply at all.
We do understand everything is about money but the way they tread their Contractor. I am telling you, don't waste your time unless you are desperate for jobs.

Dont waste your time with this company, set up an appointment no one ever showed up. 5 hours later I posted a review on thumbtack, and gotten plenty of calls since then harassing me. Do not go near this company.

Like everyone else here, if there was a way to write a review without star, this would definitely be one! My boyfriend contacted this company a month ago to fix our dryer. The guy came out and told us we needed a new part and since he didn't fix anything just give him $50 for coming out and telling us what was wrong. He showed my boyfriend how to put the part on so that he could do it himself ive he got the new part.
BF buys the part, puts it on correctly, dryer still doesn't work. We call the service guy and of course he doesn't answer any of our calls. We call the company, which by the comments, they LIE and swear this doesn't happen and they're so sorry. BS. They schedule an appointment with the SAME guy and he's supposed to bring the RIGHT part. Longer story short guy never called, never showed up TWO DAYS! Then he texts out the blue two days after that, and says he's sorry; his phone was being serviced. Continued BS. Then, has the audacity to tell us he's now available. We're now waiting for our $50 reimbursement. These people have horrible work ethic!

I set up a service call in a 2 hour window. Called them at 1:45 minutes in and they told me they could not make it. After I got confirmation of the service call being accepted.
I feel that made a commitment and then reneged.

Price is great. But that doesn't help when no one shows up and doesn't even call or email me. I used them twice for some minor home repair work. Frist time there were scheduling glitches. The 2nd time, the dispatcher said that someone was scheduled and even gave the name of the person who would show up. Time rolls by and no one shows up, no one from dispatch calls me. I call them and they don't seem to have their system updated, don't have a record of the previous dispatch. Given I stayed home from work, this was a complete loss of time and money and the work was never done. Better to hire a real plumber, electrician or repair firm next time!

FYI, never use SERVIZ for handyman stuff. We used them to mount a TV, and that worked fine. But then we had them come out and install two fans, and they probably charged too much to begin with (but they were already out for an estimate and it just seemed easier to keep them out), and then screwed us over by refusing to take a coupon, and then screwed us even more because they installed the fans stupidly (the can light have to be on for them to work, which is insane), and now they're lying and saying it's our fault because we agreed to that, and we never told them not to do that, and that's total BS, and now we're going to have to pay a few hundred more to really get it fixed. So, yeah. My new mission in life: cost SERVIZ as much money as possible. Assholes.

I have tried to book a handyman to replace a medicine cabinet. Serviz re-scheduled me 4 times and tomorrow will be the 5th time that they said they will send a handyman out.
This is a very stressful situation for me: I have cancelled all my activities for the past 4 days just to accommodate their schedule and tomorrow will be the 5th time I put my life on hold for that simple medicine cabinet. I pray that no more re-scheduling again.
I would not use this company Serviz in the future.

If I could take away the starts or give negative stars, I surely would. What disgusting horrible experience this has been. I scheduled an appt to get my stove fixed and oh boy.. they scheduled and rescheduled appts and then not showing up 3 f***ing times! I mean come on.. 3rd time when I call the company to complain they tell me they will have to start all over again and they dont have any appt for 2 weeks so plz find another company to help you!!

Worst service ever! the professional that came to my house overcharged me and the costume service just clean their hands. Really not reliable

I called serviz for an appliance repair and booked the appointment on-line and then it was confirmed by e-mail.
at the appointment time they indicated they would show up, they called and cancelled. they said they had to cancel because they did not service Samsung dryers....even though I clearly identified Samsung dryer when I made the request.
this looks like a booking engine at the end of the day and there is really no oversight that the appointment you booked is actually assignable to the technician or service person they assigned it to....and you probably won't find out until the appointment is missed.
suggest you stick with known local repair persons.
