My schedule doesn't allow me to sit and wait for a 4 hour service call window. Levy and Son was very sensitive to that and called me 30 minutes before to tell me the tech was on his way. Jared was very professional and knowledgeable. My thermostat wasn't working so he had to order the part. Thanks to his manager, Alex, the process was quick and smooth. I had a new thermostat in just a few days. I would definitely recommend. #HVAC, # HeatingAndCooling, #AC, #Thermostat
Compressor wnt out on a/c called them Said we need a new aircondioner quoted me 15,000 dollars thought this was high Shopped around found a company to do it for 6700 dollars They wanted to charge 15,000 . 8300 over other bid Ridiculous. Who would use these with this kind of pricing?
Yesterday Levy & Son replaced a new coil which cost me $4,977. The technicians did a very good job of installing it. However, I had an extended warranty which I thought would cover most of the expenses. Unfortunately, it did not as I was charged $3,000 for labor among other things. Even though it took them almost 4 hours, I feel that this fee was extremely high. I emailed the manager to break down the expenses but have yet to hear from him. So, if you are planning on buying an extended warranty, be sure to asked what it covers and does not cover. I wish they had explained this to me before I purchased the extended warranty as apparently is did not cover much! Not sure I'll continue doing business with Levy & Son.
Our kitchen sink was clogged. We had already cleaned out the pipes under the sink so we knew it was a bigger obstruction that would need an auger. I called Levy and was inundated with pleas to buy their contracts over and over. Then even with the free service call and a discount on the call, it cost $225 for the guy to auger out the pipe. He was there about 30 minutes at most. He was really nice and professional. But the charge was ridiculous. I will not call them again.
Our water heater pilot light had gone out. I tried to start it with the built-in piezo igniter. There was no spark. I asked the repairmen if we could simply replace the igniter. He said it was all part of the burner, a combined unit. He could replace it but it wouldn't last (He didn't explain why and it didn't make sense to me). He quoted a new 40 gallon heater for $2500, a 50 gallon heater for $2700. I went online and found the replacement igniter for $4.00 from Protech with no shipping fee. Igniter came in two days. Never again will I call on Levy. Always do your research, especially if you feel you are not being told the truth.
Over the last year I have gone from a satisfied Levy & Son/Service Experts customer to one who might not recommend the company if its services were free. In late 2020, we contacted 3 companies about replacing our 2 a/c units and furnaces. We had used Levy for years for plumbing and were very satisfied. Although the Levy bid was not the cheapest, we hired Levy based upon our past experience. In early January, Levy delivered - on time, at the agreed price (over $20,000) and good service. We were sufficiently pleased that we bought a service plan. Our summer service was fine. However, when Levy performed the winter service, the technician recommended surge protectors and fresh air UV lights for each of the still less than a year old units at a cost of more than $1,000 each (and lists them as "required" service). Nothing had changed since the original bid and installation. Separate from the extreme markup, why didn't Levy recommend those "necessary" products up front when it would have required much less time for the install?
Pretty amazing how the tone of the Yelp reviews have changed over the last year or so.
They eventually got my shower fixed and refunded the accidental extra fee that was charged when rescheduling.
On a Sat Main drain at a strip mall was backed up. The system was blown out causing more issues. When we had tenants complain the issue was not fixed we called for a revisit on Monday. We were told this after noon or tomorrow morning. Tuesday called at 8:30am to make sure we were on the schedule. Followed up at 11 when we had not heard anything, Now 1pm and still not on the schedule even though tenants have a sewage issue in the building.
ET C.Had them come out for to replace a shower head, and wanted to charge me over $200 for 15-20 mins of work.
Levy & Sons was purchased by Service Experts, and must be banking on prior good will and reviews that have been generated, because the current company is astounding.
Completely and utterly bonkers pricing. If you look below, many of the latest reviews indicate their exorbitant pricing.
They quoted $1600-1700 for labor alone to replace a customer provided drop-in sink. I mentioned I had gotten quotes from other providers that were 1/3 of that, and I was told that they were likely no longer in business and that these guys were some of the cheapest in town.
It seems like they come out, throw out an absurd number and try to figure out if you'll bite. These guys are shameless. Stay. Away.
Philip M.Toilet started backing up.Called Levy and Son and the Tech had no clue what he was doing,He had no idea how to install a toilet tank.I had to do it,while he waited!! Then he claimed we have roots in our vent stack, and the only solution is to replace a the vent stack piping and he gave a gestimate of 3 thousand to 5 thousand to replace the Vent stack.Almost 300 hundred bucks later and Toilet still not flushing.Do not call this company. We have had this problem in the past and all it took was a Snake out of the drains and vent stack, have another company coming to look and will update this as needed. :Update: Called another company out and all it took was a snake out of the main drain line. Problem fixed. Levy and Son never ran a snake into the main drain at all.All the tech did was focus on the vent stack and then told me the only fix was to replace the vent stacks.Avoid this company like the Plague
