Matt just did the service on my 14 year old Trane A/C. Turns out I know Matt their my job. Matt is a great guy & he & Raul leveled with me about my A/C. I don't qualify for credit & I need to replace my A/C so I don't know what I'm going to do but I definitely appreciate Matt's honesty. Way to go!! Thank you Matt!!!

I had a regular service call scheduled and the tech they sent, Howard was great and very nice. They also used it as an opportunity to send a sales agent with him to try and sell me a new program they are running. If I want a sales call, I will schedule a sales call. Don't just send one along and try and disguise it as something else.

ticket 282379 Den Air has serviced our house for years. However this year they sent James. A fast talking con man !! He did all kinds of things we did not ask him. We have 2 A/C units and he was only supposed to clean coils and check the coolant on both machines. He took it upon himself and 1. brought a new type of filter we never asked for and 2. Then he added a layer of insulation foam in the attic which did nothing for lowering the electric bill. Again, he specifically said it would save money on the electric bill but that hasn't changed and actually went up as the temperatures keep going up. And finally he installed very expensive UV lights to kill mold and bacteria again we did not ask for these lights. James forced the sale on us and due to his pushiness we simply paid him. James is not welcome back into the house or property !! Den-Air you need to find us a new serviceman. Ultimately we paid for 5 years of both A/C units to be cleaned every 6 months from cleaning coils and filling freon.

Left my 89-year-old mom for the day when these guys were coming to do annual service on perfectly working unit; returned to find they had convinced her the unit was """"totally deteriorated""""--remember, it's a four-year-old air conditioner that was working fine-- and she had to replace this with the newest and best unit. They didn't leave this service call until they had a check for an astronomical amount of money for the new unit....they intentionally took advantage and forced an unnecessary replacement sale on this unsuspecting elderly widow...they refused to honor my request to reverse the order, then it took four days to install, four days of hot and sleepless nights. When I asked another a/c guy about this, he said he'd never heard of an a/c that cost anything near the staggering figure. This company scammed my mother in the most shameless way. Do yourself a big favor and keep clear of this band of thieves.

A few days ago (May 2019) my AC went out; the compressor failed and needed to be replaced. I figured I would replace the unit since it has been giving me many problems. The technician calls a sales rep over and Jose Chapaprieta shows up. Jose told me that the compressor would cost me $3000 - $4000 to replace. Then he tried selling me leasing program that would add about $5000 to the total cost of the systems he was trying to sell me. So, for a $7000 unit, I would pay $150 a month for 7 years which comes out to $12,600. Sure, the program covers all air filters and any servicing, but let's do the math: let's say I'm paying $20 for each filter every 3 months. That comes out to $560 over the 7 years, that still leaves $5,050 of repairs over the next 7 years for me to get my money's worth. You don't even keep the unit after the 7 years. Let's talk about how he presented the quotes: Without even telling me which brand or system he was referring to, he does a calculation on his phone, shows me the number 7,700 and says """"this is the minimum I would put in my house"""". It was like pulling teeth to get him to quote me on something other than """"what he would put in his house"""" or even anything other than Lennox. I specifically had to request quotes for other brands because he was only quoting me for the most expensive models. He even tried using the thermostat a selling point after I told him I already have a nest and am just looking for a reliable AC unit. This is when it gets good: I took 10 minutes to make a phone call, weigh out my options and do a little research. I found that the average installation cost for that particular unit was actually between $3000 and $4000. I returned to the garage to ask them about this: """"I did a quick google search and found that the average installation cost is between $3000-$4000. Maybe I misunderstood but can you explain to me again what all is included in the $7000 quote you gave me?"""" Jose Chapaprieta immediately became very defensive: """"Well who installed it on that google search?"""" Then he said """"when you're buying an AC unit, you're buying the company"""". As he is saying all this, he is collecting his things, closing his book with all the buying options, and looking through his phone for something. He finally shows me a google search of Service Experts to reveal the 4.9-star rating to further support his claim as to why this $3000 upcharge was validated since his company is so reputable. Then without trying to find any middle ground, Jose Chapaprieta turns to the service tech, points at him and says """"collect your $99"""", then picks up a phone call, gets in his car and drives away. Jose must not have realized the irony in saying """"when you buy an AC unit, you're buying the company"""" and then proceed to demonstrate what type of care the company will provide by storming off. Let me recap that for you: I asked a question about the pricing and Jose Chapaprieta, the sales representative for Service Experts, gives me a speech about how good the company is, then commands the service technician to collect his fee and leave. He was effectively saying """"I am leaving, collect your 99 because you are also leaving, and this company is done here."""" Zero options explored, zero care for the customer. To the company's credit, this may be an isolated incident. However, after 3 nights of little to no sleep along with the continuous sweating, having a sales rep storm off on you while trying to resolve an issue is enough to warrant this review. It is worth noting that I purchased a new unit from another company. I followed Jose Chapaprieta's advice and bought a company that patiently explored my options with me without storming off. It is also worth noting that Jesus was my technician. I have had several experiences with Jesus and he has been nothing but polite, informative and thorough. Maybe if he was the one going through my options things would have turned out differently.

Where do I begin. First off they put in the wrong size capacitor in my AC during a lprebious service. Secondly, I had my AC not cooling. A serviceman came out and he said my air compressor was broke. There was then all of a sudden a pushy salesman showing up to tell me an AC for a 1100 sq ft condo was going to run $6000-$9,000! I waited on my decision. I called Another heating and air that was recommended to me. He came out put in the proper capacitor and it started working! Expert service was trying to scam me. My unit was actually in very good shape. Older but I could get another 2-3 years out of It. There was nothing wrong with the compressor. I can not recommend this company expert service. They are immoral scammers. There are plenty of other companies skip past these guys.

I called a different company out to do an ac inspection that was advertised in one of those free magazines that come in the mail. They came out and immediately said I needed a new compressor for $2,500. I felt like he wasn't being honest and was trying to up sell me. So, I wanted a second opinion and called this company. The tech came out and said there is nothing wrong with your ac unit, it's fine. I appreciate this company's honesty and will be using this company for my ac needs. Thank you!
