Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviewers. I was told they would text me between 8am and 9am the day of our agreed upon appointment with a time window. No text. I call, and it goes straight to voicemail... several times. I leave a message, send an email, etc.. still nothing. A couple hours goes by and they text me saying "This is the plumbing company" and that their phone and internet is down.. what? It's 2017. And regardless, they said they'd text me... was their "text down" too? I'm a working man just like everyone else... I took the day off to get this resolved. I'll update my review once they finally get out here and get on the job, but if their professionalism and customer service is indicative of their work, looks like I'm going to have a tough time.

UPDATE: The gentlemen showed up, fixed both problems in less than an hour, and were very professional. Sometimes in the heat of the moment, we jump to conclusions. I'm glad I was proved wrong. I can't speak for major issues, both of mine were very simple, but I'd call them again. My real beef at this point is with American Home Shield.

I have American Home Shield and called to report a water leak. I've had two leaks in different parts of the plumbing and both times they dispatched Service Contractors. The first time Service Contractors sent a guy out who was not very professional and he was trying to grossly over charge me. Fortunately, I got a second opinion from a much larger and reputable company who fixed the problem, they were very professional, and charged me $1500 less! The second time Service Contractors was dispatched, a different guy came out and the company sang his praises. Unfortunately, he tried to not only over charge me but he discouraged me from calling my insurance company "because they will try to make you go with who they like and we are better". Also, he was trying to pressure me into paying for the full job upfront which was quoted at $3700. I again went outside of AHS' preferred vendor and called the larger company back again. They promptly came out and fixed the problem for $1900 total. So basically, Service Contractors tried to over charge me a total of $3,300 for both jobs....unacceptable business practice! Later, I found out that Service Contractors charged my credit card for 2 service fees when they only came out once. They did refund one of the service fees but this company cannot be trusted. I called AHS and complained to them about this company. Homeowners beware and good luck!

I have also sent a complaint to AHS to never send this company to my house EVER again.
We had a leaking water heater and it took them 12 hours to show up and another 24
hours to remove and replace it while charging me $150 for a permit, which is only $40
and a $25 disposal fee which is covered AHS.

AHS sends this company out and they do absolutely nothing!!!! I have tried getting service from them repeatedly over a period of a couple of years and they just come out for their fee and that's it. They see water on floor and claim there is no leak. They see a clean-out in front of them and they report back to AHS that there is no clean-out. Beware, beware, beware, okay you have been warned.

Absolute worst experience of my life. The customer service here is a joke and implied I was lying about something they said. I am dropping American Home Shield specifically for using this vendor.

Yes, we have a contract with American Home shield. They sent out a tech to investigate a plumbing problem in the bathroom. The tech took a look, said it wasn't covered, then tried to sell me a full remodel for our bathroom at a higher price than other guys. I paid the $100 service charge (for nothing) because you have to under the contract. I called AHS who told me they that the tech said there were loose tiles and missing parts. That was true of the other bathroom I showed him, though it was very clear that the service request was NOT for this bathroom at all. AHS said I could have it re-checked if I did not agree with the tech, and it would be no extra charge unless the second party agreed with Service Contractors' evaluation. They sent someone out, who completed the job at no extra charge.
A month later I called with a related problem, and AHS assigned Service Contractors, and the same tech. They office person called me and told me they could come out...5 days later! I called them (AHS) and told them it was too long of a wait for a water leak that was damaging my home, and that I really didn't want Service Contractors to come back (explained the last incident). AHS sent another firm and the plumber fixed the problem in 5 minutes.

Had leaks at shower valve and at Bath/Shower valve. Called American Home Shield(AHS) and they sent out Service Contractors Plumbing. The best thing they did was show up when they said they would. Service tech looked at the issues(5 min.) and went outside to call AHS.

He came back inside said AHS would call me and wanted the $75 for the trip. I asked him what they were going to do. He said nothing. He had 8 other service calls after mine and was sent out to collect the $75 and diagnose problem. I already knew the problem and called this into AHS which he had on his work order. He left I did not pay.

Here is where the problem starts, he told AHS that the valves were damaged from over tightening and misuse and abuse. So when AHS calls they say they're are not going to cover anything based on his diagnosis. (mind you he never took out a tool, never turned off the water to remove the valve stem, nothing) Yes the shower handles were cracked from tightening the valve stem(25 year old faucet) because the water would not shut off because the seats or "O" ring inside the valve stem had gone bad. I tried very had to get AHS to send the same guy back out to explain to me his diagnosis, they would not. I told them I would not pay the $75.

Long story short, AHS is sending out another Plumbing Company for a second opinion, free of charge, hopefully this company does better. It seems to me that AHS and other warranty companies do their best to get away without making repairs and find companies like Service Contractors who will go around and just rack up $75 charges for a 10 minute visit and then report back to AHS that is not covered under warranty so they continue to get business from AHS. Think about it he does 12 service calls a day at $75 each that is $900 billed in a day. They pay this guy probably $200 a day, what a great profit margin. Nothing against free enterprise but this is a racket.

It needs a class action lawsuit against these warranty companies and their providers to stop what their doing. Be warned.

The tech was unhelpful, rude, and very dismissive to me! Terrible service! And will overcharge you!
Two years ago we used them through American Home Shield because our water heater was making a lot of noise. They came and told us it needed to be flushed out (due to sediment), but doing so on a water heater that was more than 10 years old might cause it to leak into the house. AHS would not cover a replacement. We decided change out both water heaters and looking back at the receipt, I KNOW they overcharged us, but I didn't realize it until it was too late.
In the past couple of months we notices black flecks in the water from the kitchen sink. My handyman discovered CHUNKS of black stuff (still can't identify the material, not sediment or calcium) coming from one of the water heaters. I call AHS and had Service Contractors come out ONLY because I figured the water heater warranty would have to go through them. The tech took one look and told me it was my water line coming into the house. When I explained that it was only from the hot water (not the cold) he wouldn't do any testing or otherwise and dismissed my concerns. He told me a water heater that is only 2 years old would never have any problems. (I know for a fact that problems can come up at ANY time with ANY product in your house or otherwise.) My handyman was even making a special trip to come talk to him and he wouldn't even wait for 10 min. to talk to him and he was totally rude to me about it.
If they are EVER assigned to me again I will NOT use them.

Terrible service! I had to use them through American Home Shield. My shower would not turn off. Tech named Chris came out, spent 5 minutes, said it was fixed, and left. When my tenant went to take a shower, it did not work. The tech did not fix it, took the $75 and told AHS parts were missing. Now, they wont cover it. What a bunch of dishonest, lazy, people.

In the approximately two and a half years that I have owned this contract, AHS has taken my money without providing any service. From waiting for days to speak with a vendor, to assigned vendors missing four consecutive appointments, this company has abhorrent customer service. Upon calling last night and speaking to two customer service agents, I was informed that I would have immediate plumbing service to rectify the plumbing backup that caused 20+ gallons of water to fill my kitchen. When finally contacted by the vendor this morning, I was informed that it would take another day to send out a plumber - to rectify a plumbing problem I have previously contacted AHS about only to have the technician inform me that I have no problems. When I contacted AHS, I was informed my only option was to pay an additional expedited fee. This company accepts money for an illusory service then attempts every possible angle to avoid providing the service they are paid to provide. This company is a continuing predator on the Texas consuming public.
