I called service Champion HVAC to come out and give me a quote to fix our heat pump. The tech showed up on time and said it needed a few parts. So they gave us a quote of $1136 to fix it and asked to be paid upfront. I gave them my credit card info and they charged the total amount to the card. Next day the tech called me back and said the parts are not available & they would need to repalce the whole unit for $15,000. We didn't want to do that so I asked for the refund on the amount that was charged to my credit card. They told us it will take two weeks for the credit to be proceesed and posted back to my card. This was November 7th. After more than 6 weeks and several phone calls and talking to 3 different people and giving me promises for credit back, I still don't have the credit. So I finally had to call the credit card company and dispute the charge to get a refund on the $1136.
What a scam. Stay away from this company till they can get their act together.

The technician Barrett was friendly but the practice was not honest. Charging a $3.23 capacitor for $374 and scammed you into their MVP plan for another $107. Was planning to do the sealing installation through them, but all these showed a big no for me. Lesson learned, but I feel I save big on my next project by avoiding such a scam company.
Updated: after talking to their ""customer service"", I concluded that my case is not an isolated one. Everything is what this company designs to make money off people who are not familiar with HVAC. This is a scam company. Will file a formal complaint to BBB and California DCA.

I used this service company a couple months ago as my AC stopped working. The technician came and told me I need to replace a part. He put in a new one and my AC was fixed. Things went pretty well until he gave me bill, which was about $1k. I was shocked! Then he explained it included the part, a one year warranty and one year some sort of service. I told him I only want the part which he said that is $500. I was a little suspicious and but gave him my card anyway. Then I asked him if I can see the package of the part, he said he does not have it, and it costs $500 because my AC model was old. At that point, I felt something is wrong and started to google AC part price on Amazon, and guess what, for something looking similar, it only costs $25!! I immediately requested a refund but he said he couldn't do that thus I needed to call customer service. He took off.
I was furious and felt being tricked and ripped off big time. Next day I had to call customer service and asked for refund. To avoid any more trouble on both ends, I propose to them to give me a discounted price on the part and let us be done with. But The customer service insisted on charging me $500 for the part because it is their pricing! WTF 500 for something worth less $25?! Fine, then I requested a full refund which was issued a week later. The technician came back a few days later and took the part back. I later had to find another service company and purchased the part on my own for $25. The new company gladly use the part I purchased and fixed AC again. To summarize, they are dishonest in selling the parts and took advantage of me who appears to know nothing about AC. I write this review only want to let the management know that this kind of business practice is not ok. You should review your ""pricing"" and be reasonable, otherwise, you are just breaking your credibility.
UPDATE: I received the repair service in South Bay. I am not the one booked the service though. I don't appreciate you trying to track me down. If you read other one star review, the outrageous pricing is the one most people complain. So again, to whoever is considering use this company, be aware of the charges! My suggestion is to get a quote before accepting any kind of work or you are stuck with a large bill.

We ended up replacing our AC unit and furnace during the summer of last year, and have regretted it since. There were issues from the beginning with the sales representative who was rude and condescending and did not answer my questions, and I should have gone with my gut then - not to go with them. However, they asked how my experience was, I told them and they wanted to send someone else out to make up for the awful experience I had, which I agreed to. Long story short, I agreed, and we ended up using them ($$$$). Damage was caused during installation (which they had said they would repair during sales consult and was one of the reasons I went with them), but this never got done. Any time you leave a message for someone to call you back, they do not. It should not be my job to have to call over and over again to try and get someone in person to speak to. Also kept being pushed from one person to another. Very poor customer service. No follow through on anything. Once they have your money, they don't care. I had a tune up recently and the service tech pointed out the damage. I explained my experience and he said I should follow up again (I had eventually given up after multiple failed attempts, which is probably what they want). I was given an email for the area manager, to which I sent a lengthy email detailing my experience. You would think they would care about the customers experience, but I have heard NOTHING, even from someone higher up who you think would want to know and look in to why a customer is so dissatisfied. Totally regret having given them another chance at the beginning and then going with with them. Do not recommend

Roberto Moya was very professional. We got great service and a great deal. Thank you!!!!!

Our experience with Service Champions.
On 6/5/2021 Jose Rangel-Chavez met with my and wife and me at our home. He is a sales representative from Service Champions. The reason we hired his company is because in April this year they responded the fastest to an emergency we had and did a good job; also, I bought the MVP membership and saved good money.
Jose presented us with different options and finally we decided to buy what they call the Summer Special.
On 6/9/2021 Jose showed around 9:30 AM and introduced me to Frank Silva, the senior technician in charge of the installation. Later Frank came to me with some paperwork I had to sign. They were upgrading the outdoor compressor as they lacked the one, I bought. Very good thing to happen. Round 5:00 PM the outside compressor was still inoperative. Frank left after 5:30 PM and told my wife and I that there was a problem of ""communicating"". No A/C for that warm evening. I also noticed that the W2 wire was not connected, required for a 2-stage furnace like the one installed.
On 6/11/2021 they sent a technician who couldn't do anything to set the outdoor unit run. He told me that on Monday 6/14/2021 a technician with the ability to call the Lennox tech support (I assume) would come. All these days in the middle of the summer without A/C yet.
On 6/14/2021 Jay Belena shows and with guidance from tech support, he is capable to put the unit to work. The problem was a wrong grounding connection. The unit was working but not cooling. No A/C yet.
On 6/16/2021 Jay returns and finally the A/C is running and cooling.
On the day of the installation, while moving the old furnace out of the house, the guys placed it on the wooden floor and slid it before lifted, scratching 2 boards of my 3-year-old floor. (Picture attached). I let Frank know about it and reported to Jose. Jose called me and said that another person a project manager, I believe, would call me. Carlo called me. Poor customer service skills. He told me to get 3 quotes and send them to them for the floor repair cost approval. I got one for $350 and sent it to Carlo. He said he will get approval for it. Then he texted me back and said that go ahead and do the job as management approved the quote.
On 7/15/2021 Wood Flooring Experts came and did a pretty good job, replacing the scratched boards with some I had as left over from 3 years ago. Still a patch. The total for the repair was $350.00.
On 7/16/2021 I sent to Carlo via email the invoice from Wood Flooring Experts and he confirmed receipt of the documents and that he had submitted for a refund to be processed. I paid full amount for the repair to Wood Flooring Experts after completion of the job. Today 8/13/2021, I haven't received any answer nor check on the mail nor anything. I emailed them on 8/6/2021 inquiring on the refund and I was told my email would be sent to Carlo. No refund yet.
On 7/27/2021 the living room started leaking water from the ceiling. Extensive water damage. The original technicians forgot to revise the old pipes that they would be using for the new system, which were already loosen or disconnected at 3 points.
On 7/29/2021 Jay returns and glued correctly all the connections. For first time since 6/14/2021 the condensed water released by the A/C started coming out of the attic and the house and draining properly through the old pipes. Extensive water damage.
On 8/3/2021 Service Champions sent Faith Painting to repair the water damage on the leaving room ceiling. They did a decent job, not as I wanted to but OK. Still another patch.
As you can easily check, my experience with Service Champions turned out to be a living nightmare. They offered my heaven but gave me hell.
I'm pretty sure this is a good company, which needs to re-train its crew, mainly to avoid the errors committed in my installation.

This company used a third party to deliver my new heater. That vendor hit my electric neutral line which created an electrical surge nd created electrical problems in my home. Accidents happen, but when I reached out to service champions to be reimbursed for the $699 repairs, they insisted that I submit the claims to their delivery vendor. I felt this wasn't my responsibility, but I did it. That was in April - I have not heard from the vendor so I started calling Service Champions 60 days ago to insist that they reimburse me and deal with THEIR vendor. They still have not resolved and I generally cannot get a phone call back despite their promises that they will call back with the solution ""by the end of the day."" So I feel they do not stand behind their work and it was not an ""outstanding service experience"" for me. This is after spending $6,000 on a furnace and being one of their MVP members.

Since our first review describing the newly installed AC failure to cool, we
[Michaela Brody and Paul Benke] experienced the same problem a second time. Apparently the original installation was not done correctly. Nor was the problem diagnosed correctly during the first repair call. Now so far the system does at least seem to finally cool but the plastic sheathing covering the outside tubes and wiring simply fell off. More than anything this must be representative of the quality of work of the technicians. Another small but annoying detail is that after the visit to re-install the sheathing the base and AC unit aren't aligned exactly parallel to the wall -- just a lack of attention to detail.

I needed a heating/air conditioning expert to see why my heater wasn't turning on so I called service champion they came out and inspected the furnace and told me my cpu board was burnt and I needed a new I asked him how much he told me $857.00 not including labor another 2
$240 $1,097for a $50.00 part and twenty minutes to put it in so I ordered the part did it myself saved a lot of money but what gets me they tell you that they help you save then the guy put me on a yearly service call that charges me $100 a year with auto renew o do not know how I agreed to that but I did no more messing with these money hungry services cheaper to find out for yourself and find how to do it on YouTube save your money PLEASE

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Got a new Air Handler unit 8 months ago from this company and wasn't able to use it till a day ago because they didn't do their due diligence and verify that the condenser on the roof of my condo was compatible. It wasn't. They did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to rectify this situation with my HAO. Literally would call me and ask me to have conversations with HOA to get information for them. I signed their contract on ""good-faith"" and got burned. They didn't care cause they were still gonna get paid. Finally get a new condenser and was able to use the unit for less than a day. Turn it on and something bursts and I have water leaking. WTH!! I used this company cause of all the reviews. DON'T LET IT FOOL YOU AND NEVER TAKE THIER WORD. Don't sign nothin till the work is done in full and quality! This was a hard lesson learned for me. I also recommend researching the company that makes any unit you may get installed. Some of those companies don't use quality materials.
