After selling his earlier plumbing, heating, and air conditioning company in 1997, Leland established Service Champions in March 2000. Alex Tovar did a plumbing inspection in our home today and he was very thorough and informative. He told me what he was checking for and what the results were. He was also very pleasant, friendly and respectful. My house stayed clean. It was raining outside, but he was so good about wearing his booties that no water was tracked into the house. The end result was definitely the 5+ star we have come to expect from Service Champion. Carlos was able to inspect and resolve the issue quickly, turns out it was a missed step in the entire process. Huge props to Carlos for supervising and Devyn completing the full home water filtration installation.
Also a big thank you to Dominic Greep and team for installing the new water heater. It definitely looks like a work of art and installed very professionally. Thanks too Ramon Lopez for inspecting and resolving the issues with the RO Water system.

Just had our routine HVAC check-up service completed by Ray Elliott. It was a very cold afternoon but he took his time checking the unit, which is on the roof. Ray took excellent pictures, explained in detail what he found and gave helpful suggestions. It's reassuring to have this expensive equipment receive such a detailed inspection from a knowledgeable expert to help keep it running for many years. Service Champions technicians are wonderful!
I've been using service Champions for many years now, because they are professionals, and never had problems with them. Couple of days ago, it was time for my furnace be inspected, which they do regularly ,A young man was sent to us .Ray Elliot. We where very impressed with his service, kindness and patience. He explained to us for what was wrong, without any pressure for sale. Thank you Ray for your atmost service, we wish you well. And thanks for service Champions for hiring the best, and training them well.
True to the advertisement, Victor Torres arrived with a smile and friendly attitude. Also, we didn't have to ask him to put shoe covers on when entering our house. He gave honest estimates on all of our plumbing jobs needed.
About two years ago, I needed some servicing for my furnace. It was an older unit, but always worked well and was a high-end unit when new. The furnace worked, however the burner wouldn't produce a strong enough flame and the air coming out of the closest vent was only about 73 degrees (instead of 105 to 110 degrees). I couldn't find the old paperwork for the company that used to handle the servicing. So, I gave Service Champions a call. They sent out a nice younger person, but still seeming knowledgeable. He did a preliminary look at the furnace but wasn't really familiar with older models.
I thought that there might be a clog in the gas control valve or that the burner was clogged with dust/debris. However, he either didn't know how to check these out (or want to). He did use a fiber optic camera to look inside the furnace and tried to convince me (with poor quality photos) that the heat exchanger was cracked and was a CO issue and recommended shutting it off and replacing it. I asked if he had a CO detection meter to test the air coming out of the vents, but he did not.
I believe he saw the unit and wasn't going to service it, just trying to sell a new unit. I declined.
I further looked into old boxed up paperwork and found an invoice for Air King in Torrance, CA. I made an appointment and they sent out an older gentleman (quite experienced with similar furnaces as mine) with his apprentice (I assume). He did an extremely thorough examination. He tested the gas control valve and it was fine (even a slightly higher than expected flow rate). He had a huge canister of compressed air and completely cleaned out all the debris clogging the burner. He also more thoroughly examined the interior of the furnace. Everything looked good to him and found that there were no cracks on the heat exchanger, rather just a few discoloration marks.
After restarting the furnace, we eventually got the heat out of the vents up to 109 degrees. Once it had been running for awhile, the service tech used his CO meter (yes he always has one with him) to test several vents and had each reading came up '000' no CO detected. I was very happy with the servicing from Air King.
I don't think that the service tech from Service Champions was a bad guy, I just think he was inexperienced with older units and came unprepared for a thorough servicing.

I had a really bad experience with 2 other plumbers (from a different company) who both gave me a ridiculous quote to just snake a drain and wanted to take out the toilet because they couldn't find the main line / clean out pipe. I definitely knew it wasn't meant to be a $400+ expenditure so I tried one last place and Service Champions did exactly what needed to be done at minimal charge.
Fabian was on time, super polite, and took the time to explain to me what happened and even showed me the cause of my drain blockages. He knew right away where to start and was super helpful and I learned a bit from him. He didn't try to up-charge me or make up any problems like the other two plumbers. It's a relief to find a trustworthy company that I can use in the future, definitely recommend!!

My only complaint is they call numerous times a month to schedule appointments (which they are already scheduled) Apparently, the scheduling department has no idea what has been scheduled.. Several times a week is quite annoying ... Come on schedulers!!! do your homework
