Leland Smith established Service Champions Plumbing, Heating, and AC in March 2000. Since 1979, Leland Smith has worked in the heating and air conditioning industry. After selling his earlier plumbing, heating, and air conditioning company in 1997, Leland established Service Champions in March 2000. Service Champions operates as a full-service residential heating and air conditioning company from its base in Yorba Linda, California, catering to homeowners in all of Orange County and parts of LA, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. I was not entirely happy with my service Champions encounter and left a not so favorable review. Service champions contacted me and asked me how they could make things better, How their staff could be better and how they could better serve their customers. We had a great conversation I felt that they were very interested in what I had to say. Yesterday I received a refund check from them that I never requested. I have to say that was a standup move on the Part of Service Champions. Anyway I just wanted to give the update.
I went through two other HVAC repair sources, who only wanted to replace everything, before having a successful repair performed by Ryan, from Service Champions. Parts shortages caused by broken supply chains are impacting most industries these days, but with Ryan's extensive knowledge of electronics, and sub-system components, coupled with Service Champions of Brea`s broad reach and established presence in the industry, I was able to get my unit back up and running, while saving thousands of unnecessary replacement costs. Pricing is reasonable, and with addition of a new, inexpensive maintenance agreement, I have confidence that I will be in good hands, in matters involving my HVAC systems health, going forward. I strongly recommend considering Service Champions of Brea, CA, for all of your AC, Heating, and Plumbing needs.
Karen S.I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Service Champions. After having listened to their commercials on the FISH 95.9 for years, I felt comfortable calling.
Due to COVID, our AC unit had not been serviced in a over a year. I called to set up an appt and was pleased that they were able to see me days before the reservation I had made online. They communicated via text and email with reminders up to the day of and their location the day of the appt.
Ryan and his trainee Les arrived right on time. They were incredibly nice young men. They took the time to explain everything to me and patiently answered my questions. They were so pleasant, personable, and friendly. The thing I liked was that they communicated with me during every step of the service (before, during, and after). It was truly a positive experience. Being a teacher myself, I was very impressed with Ryan. He was an incredible teacher, mentor, resource for Les. Les was eager and did an awesome job. They were a great team!!
I called my husband and had him on speaker and Ryan took the time to explain everything. He made some recommendations for service but kept stressing that he wanted to make sure that we had all the information we would need to make an informed decision. AT NO TIME during the service did we feel pressured or taken advantage of.
After reading some of the less than favorable reviews, I'm sorry that those customers didn't have the blessing of having Ryan and Les respond to their service call. Thank you Ryan and Les for doing your job with such integrity. Thank you for being a blessing to our home. Not that we are part of the Membership Program, we're praying that Ryan will be the one to come back in 6 months.

We had Service Champions install an entire HVAC last summer. As of now the permit hasn't been signed off by the building inspector. Service Champions won't respond to the problems, rarely do they call us back.
They got our money and now we don't matter.
I used to hear them advertise on KWAVE christian radio, that is something that should change. Very unhappy, would not recommend.
I received a letter offering an air-conditioning tune-up. Scheduled said tun-up . They came out talked about how long it would take and proceeded to look at everything and take pictures. It was clear after a few minutes that they were setting up the future sale with all of their evidence getting. They scheduled a meeting fo the next day with some sort of lead advisor who layed out the products and choices ahead of me. The options were super expensive. Even the lowest was a good ten thousand dollars over the next three estimates that followed from other companies. Decided on going with another company that made me feel comfortable with the work and the price.
The thing that got me the most, besides the ruse of the service offer, was how much they talked about going the extra mile for their customers by bringing in their trash cans, knocking down a hornets nest, and bunch of other stuff. Then, when I had a duct that was literally falling off my air handler, they didn't even bother tacking it down with like a sheet metal screw or something to get me through the heat wave to come. I didn't even bother looking at the price after that. This is where actions and words don't match up. I laughed when they showed me, the customer, that they were rated the top work place. I wasn't trying to get a job with them. How does that directly correlate with my air conditioner issue.
To be fair, they did say they could get it done in days and they did appear to know what they were doing. The other company would be a week or more. I think I could wait a week for $15,000, which is what the difference in estimates was.
So I ding them one star for their price and ruse. I ding them another star for their words not matching their actions in the going out of their way for the customer.
I had my 21 point inspection done by Kalani Casteel on May 25,2021 and He did an awesome job. Kalani explained everything that he was doing as he proceeded to go into the attic to inspect the ducts and furnace. Kalani also took apart the compressor cover and literally cleaned the inside of the compressor, then carefully reassembled the cover and waxed the top of the compressor. I was so impressed with Kalani that I also want him to do the same thing on our rental house in Brea. By the way, Kalani was very personable & professional; I see him gradually moving into the sales Department where He can be a tremendous asset to Service Champions.

Friendly, punctual, and really went above and beyond. We are senior citizens and they must have a soft spot because they asked if there was ANYTHING that we needed fixed, even fixed a light in our kitchen. Came back a few days later to do our circuit breakers. We cannot thank or recommend them enough!
P B.***READ THIS*** Please DO NOT use this company. My mother is an older woman and a first time home owner recently. After having issues with her HVAC, she called this company to try and figure out the issue. They charged $88 dollars just to have someone come out and look, but all this functions as in an opportunity to build their scam. After ""looking,"" she was told that she needed a supervisor to come out in order to tell her what was wrong. Seems fishy if the guy they originally send can't do that himself....
Continuing, the supervisor tells her that the services will cost $18,000 because it is beyond repair and needs a full replacement. At this point the whole family got involved because that seemed like a beyond ridiculous amount of money for a replacement. We decided to get another company to come out and check. Come to find out there is just a small leak that can be patched. Service Champions wanted to charge my poor mother 600% more than what actually needed to be fixed. I despise places that prey on people who earnestly need help and take advantage of their lack of knowledge.
And I notice that the owner responds to these reviews, but I encourage you not to bother. We didn't just receive ""bad service"" that can be addressed with speaking to a higher up, your business model is unethical and nothing will change that. I suggest any person looking for HVAC services to avoid Service Scampions.
