They showed up promptly. After that, they gave estimates which were grossly inflated and false. Including a City Permit fee for $175 when the City actually charges $50. Several hundred dollars of "modifications" to gas and water lines which they stated were mandatory by City Code. Checking with the City revealed that this was not true.
Bogus Company
Owner, Stephen Ladd, filed Bankruptcy on June 30, 2020, something they fail to mention. BEWARE!

They replaced my water heater through my home warranty. Just over 2 months later, I have no hot water. Called them and they told me I had to go back through my home warranty. When I asked "Don't you stand behind your work?" they hung up on me.

I have a garbage disposal that went out. I have American Home Shield as my home warranty company. They dispatched SDL Plumbing Company. A young man by the name of Zack from SDL Plumbing came out initially to diagnose the problem and the disposal needed to be replaced. The disposal was ordered and replaced sometime after that. I requested that Zack come out again to be the one to put the new disposal in. He was very polite and extremely friendly. He also wore, without me asking, the blue covers over his boots to keep from tracking things onto my freshly shampooed carpet. What a polite and considerate young man. Highly recommended.

It appears SDL Plumbing works exclusively for American Home Shield, ensuring that whatever the problem is, it won't be covered by your home warranty. That was my experience. They have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Looked up the license for owner, Steve Ladd. They have two fines from the State Board of Plumbing Examiners in the last two years. They have a 1.5 rating on Yelp - 69 of 86 reviews are 1 (never seen rating that low). Doesn't take much to figure out that they are working for AHS and not you, the customer. I think they are doing a great job - at saving AHS money and not covering your valid home warranty claims.

If there was a way to give a zero rating or a negative rating, it would be appropriate. Technician arrived, found ways to charge up beyond what is required and leave without answering any questions. As I stood next to the technician and asked four questions, he ignored all of them and walked away. Then I asked him again after he checked everything and he gave me a paper with so-called required work and walked out.
Technician arrived timely; service over the phone to schedule was also good. But everything else is as poor as it can be.

One of the WORST companies we have EVER come across. Starting from one of the most ARROGANT and rude plumbers "Gary" who behaved rudely in front of our entire family including young kids (who does that in this civilized world??) to absolutely rubbish service (NONE of the issues were taken care of and instead blamed us, as homeowners....seriously?) to absolutely FALSE documentation that was submitted to the home warranty company. How can American Home Shield, that charges hundreds of dollars a year to the customer, hire an absolutely FRAUD and unethical company like SDL Plumbing in this day and age? Is no one concerned about their reputation and customer service? Don't like to post NEGATIVE reviews but unfortunately this company left us no choice. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!

This was one of the worst experiencing I have ever had with any company. I was assigned this company through American Home Shield after my one of my toilets randomly started overflowing. The first technician just flushed tissue down the toilet just to see if it would over flow again. He was very unprofessional and seemed to be in a rush. When I called the receptionist to voice my concerns, she hung up on me and I had to call right back. The second tech that came out did not fix the issue either. I had to pay American Home Shield another 75 dollars to schedule service through a different company because now my toilets wont flush at all and I have sewage water coming out of my tub and both showers in my home. Please save yourself from a lot of headache and find a different company. I would give them a 0 rating if it was possible. The rating explains a lot about their actual service as a company

TERRIBLE!!!!! NEVER USE THEM!!! They came because we have American home shield. We just have one leakage in the bathroom sink underneath one of the pipe. A technician came said there is a problem with my AC line. I don't know what he did but he made stoppage for both of my sinks now without even fix the leakage. Then, he said the stoppage is not covered by my plan... PLEASE AVOID IF POSSIBLE!!!!

Used AHS and they sent SDL. Technician essentially wrote a ticket for around $2K most of which was unnecessary work...and all outside of the AHS contracted services. I called another plumbing service. Fixed for $500. Don't use SDL...not trustworthy.

if american home shield send them...their game is to get u denied so they can charge more....do not deal with them.....the tech will be polite and nice but he's gonna screw u......and for that i wouldnt never ever deal with these con artists......sick ....amid a pandemic and here they go trying to get over and rip u off......dont open your door for these degenerates .....
1 star is 2 stars too high....i hope they go out of business and im reporting them to homeshield.......
