Solid service. No issues.
SDL was sent via our home warranty company. TBH, I looked up their reviews here before they were about to arrive and was very nervous. Luckily, I did not have the experience that so many one-star folks had. Gary came, had a facemask, was pleasant, found the issue with our hot water heater. And not only did he fix it, he gave me the specific detail of what the issue was. A great all-around experience.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Zero stars would be the more appropriate rating. I am in disbelief that AMS would contract with SDL and send them to anyone's home. The technician Gary showed up at my house walked up and in less than 2 min gave me the why my claim would most likely be denied speech. It was as if he already had the home warranty denial reason ready before attempting to actually do his job and accurately diagnosis the problem. Gary was very defensive and rude when questioned for clarity on his incompetent explanation of how out of 2 identical hot water heaters one is not really a hot water heater. Lucky for me I had an awesome plumber out on Monday whom I called and scanned Gary's paper work to immediately after the extremely unprofessional and unskilled service call from SDL. He said that had the tech actually looked at the hot water heaters he would have seen that both are active and working hot water heaters connected to 1 central shutoff valve. His quote from Monday to replace and install 2 brand new water heaters was less than SDLs quote to repair the one that is leaking. I am so disappointed that AMS thinks so little of their customers as I would NEVER refer anyone to this scam of a plumbing company. After this experience, I am also canceling my AMS contract. If you value your home DO NOT USE SDL plumbing.

American Home Shield sent SDL to evaluate my leaky water heater. The technician arrived on time and was very polite. He inspected the water heater for about 10 minutes and correctly determined that I needed a new one. Then he let me know that with my level of warranty, I would have to pay $1080 out of pocket to bring up to code. I did not feel comfortable using them because of their lackluster reviews (2 star rating) and I felt like he was trying to upcharge me for things that were unnecessary. This price quoted was in addition to what the warranty company was paying them to install the water heater. For instance, he wanted to charge me $150 for a $30 drip pan. Not to mention that there was not anything wrong with my current drip pan. As a result, I did my own research and found Mars. I received 5 star service from them. I appreciated the fact that they were professional and did not try to charge me for unnecessary stuff. If you need plumbing services, I would highly recommend Mars. My technician was named Wes! Lastly, I saved $300-400 in unnecessary fees!

They have worked on my plumbing twice and I couldn't be happier with their work...early for appointments, friendly, clean and efficient!
The area was clean each time and first visit was a major problem...they could have gone straight to costly repair, but they did all they could before elevating to next level. Just happened to get the same tech this time and he did an outstanding job.
So many plumbing horror stories, but SDL exceeded my expectations!

SDL Plumbing was the contractor assigned by the home warranty Company, American Home Shield. They were prompt to return my call, but couldn't get me in (no hot water) for 4 days. The technician give me a 9 - 1 window and showed up at 12:55pm. He immediately said I needed a new hot water heater and that AHS would cover only the cost of the heater itself. Then, he gave me a quote for MORE THAN DOUBLE THE COST of the water heater itself to have it put in...I would be responsible for those costs. A drain pan was $150 - beyond ridiculous. I will NEVER use them again....and shame on AHS for not doing better by their customers.

GREAT SERVICE!!!
Our gas company had come earlier in the day to look for a gas leak but would not come inside due to Covid19. The gas company left the house with the gas turned off and told me i needed to find a plumber to go inside and identify the leak before they would turn the gas to the house back on. Matt came to my rescue!! He was over IMMEDIATELY to help. He found and repaired the gas leak in the attic and I was able to get my gas turned back on the same day. Great service and would recommend to anyone!

American Home Shield sent SDL to us. Gary was very nice, but when the toilet was fixed he told my husband to caulk it himself..? My husband asked him to please finish the job by caulking it because the job was not finished. Gary told him he doesn't do that.. So if you want the job finished don't call SDL.

Send out by home warranty on 3 different dates, all 3 times Gary showed up he swas outside maybe 10 mins and the other 50 mins sitting in his truck. He never fixed the leak and left everytime with an excuse. The last being a blatant lie that was already confirmed by a previous water damage inspection service that he recommended and sent out. Terrible service and lazy plumber.

SDL was sent out by American Home Shield for a slab leak.
Our tech spent 5 minutes in the house diagnosing the leak. He put his ear to the ground, pointed to a spot and said "your leak is right here because I hear water hitting the concrete." He didn't even do a locate. Then he said that our claim was denied due to "shifting soil." He immediately said they were going to have to tunnel under the house and it would be $10,500.
To recap, no locate was done, he made up a spot where the leak was, he did not provide us all of our options to repair the leak (except the most expensive one and still over charged), denied our claim due to a made up reason which was impossible to confirm, and then left us with a ridiculous quote.
Just so anyone who reads this is aware, the techs with these companies contracted by home warranties make $30 a visit but they make SO MUCH MORE when they can deny a claim and get the business from you directly. That is the MO behind every call they get from American Home Shield. We had a previous issue denied with our hot water heater because there was no sediment trap on it. Turns out there is a sediment trap and they just tried to bamboozle us for $800 thinking we would never ask.
Plain and simple, these guys suck. Move on to someone who won't try to screw you over.
