We had a plumbing issue in our newly purchased home, and we had Homestead insurance to assist. They sent SDL Plumbing and we were very happy with the service.

They were friendly, and honestly was relieved to find them not creepy - as many other home services had been. Everything was explained to me, and although I was only paying my deductible, they made sure I understood everything and did not leave until I was ok with the issue at hand.

Ultimately they could not help me as it was not a plumbing issue, but the fact that they told me that and did not try to fake any issues or whatnot made me feel comfortable about them.

They were right on time, even called me when they were about 10 minutes away. I paid with check and they left me with their contact information should I have any other questions about the visit and what had been explained.

I would have given the 5 stars had it not been for the fact that the visit was at an inconvenient time of the business day - so I had to take the day off to make sure we were home.

SDL was called out to my house by my home warranty company to handle a plumbing blockage issue. The technician that came out was very helpful and was able to fix the problem within the hour. When I got home the following day I saw that my copper plate that closes off the clean out access was open and sewage was coming out. Upon further inspection, I see that the copper plate is broken, something that was not brought to my attention when the technician was there.

My wife contacted SDL to get their help resolving this problem only to be called an bitch by the owner because she was requesting a little help with scheduling, which they were not willing to do, not even to correct a problem that they caused.

Don't touch this "company" with a 10 foot pole. Any "owner" who is okay talking to a customer in this manner is a "owner" who will do much, much worse and doesn't deserve to stay in business.

Experts in causing secondary damage, flooding your home, not owning up and being rude. If you want to damage your home then look no further!!

If you don't trust me, look up Pipe Down Service and read the review by Stevelyn P. It will reaffirm what I just wrote...

Worst service I've seen yet! Lamont and his partner for the day or week etc. decided they only wanted to come and collect a $75 check to walk through our home and insist nothing was covered and for that matter I should have my inspector checked out. Lamont (dark hair and blue eyes) was extremely disrespectful about all situations, continued to place blame on others and then literally lie through his teeth to AHS on the phone. He never turned on the sink, flushed the toilet or looked under our home to even check for a leak. All he wanted to do was write a bill for $12,000.00 plus and walk away. No response but acted like he was the owner of the company with all the answers in the world. He even came back and stated he had fixed our faucet on his documentation to AHS. However, again...lied to us the customer saying he had to run get a part but the part wasn't available but he would be back in two to three days. Although, when AHS called to check on the service we had no idea Lamont wasn't returning at all. He turned in a completed job to AHS but NEVER RAISED a hand, wrench, or tool of any sort. All he had was a pad of paper to lift his little pen to write up anything he thought he could attempt to charge for without even turning on the water. You would think a company would want to make sure the plumber on duty has the skills to do the job before they send him out. SAD TO SAY BUT this PLUMBER needs a different type of job! Or his employer needs to spend a little time with him on calls to even see this person in action. This company is only out to collect a service fee and leave you with NOTHING but wasted time and a bill you would never think of paying!

No Stars For SDL Plumbing. If your Home warranty or insurance company refers you to SDL - Deny the referral and ask for another option!!!! They are the worst. I changed all of my home and rental home policies from AHS because of the horrible experience with SDL. Lamont came in the 2 days ago and without looking at anything in the house went out to his van and called AHS and reported that everything was preexisting. They denied all claims. Called for a second opinion. They said AHS should have made the repairs. He said 90% of his calls that he makes a day are for second opinions that SDL has said not to cover. Oh, by the way, they will be happy to make the repairs for you not on warranty for thousands of dollars!!! If you hear their name, RUN to the phone to have it changed to another plumber! In case I have not been clear, I do not recommend SDL Plumbing!!!

My son just bought a house and has American Home Shield as a warrenty company with the sales. The way AHS does business it seems only to collect money.

The kitchen faucet is leaking. AHS had SDL plumbing to come out. The young man (plumber?) took the faucet apart and proclaimed the cartridge was in bad shape. I asked if he had the part and he said he would have to order it. A couple of minutes later, the young man said he was going to put in two seals. I asked if he was still going to put in the cartridge, and he said no; we would just have to be careful with it. That night the faucet was leaking and was under the sink and on top of the counter. My son wiped up the spill and turned off the water. He called AHS and another man came out. I had just turned on the water for the faucet a couple of minutes before SDL arrive. He says he could not find a leak. He blamed all the water under the sink and on top of the counter due to minor cracks in the grout behind the sink. SDL left and during the night the water leaked as it had before. AHS was called again and they said SDL said there was no leak so nothing more could be done. I guess AHS believes we are just having fun with them and saying we have a leak

SDL would, seemingly, advise with the first techinicial visit that the faucet's cartridge was really bad and with the report that it is still leaking it should be replaced. I would hope this is not part of the seemingly home maintenance's scheme of trying not to spend too much money in home repairs.

American home shield hired this company to come look at my plumbing issue, I cancelled the service request but SDL charged me anyways, even though they never came to my home or was even in the area of my home. Cant believe this company is that hard up for business that they would still from potential customers. Enjoy the $60..........

Do not use these crooks. These guys were sent out by American Home Shield to fix my water heater they deterimined that it needed to be replaced wich is fine but they would need to place a drain pan under the water heater to be in code wich is also fine. the probem I had was that they were going to charge me $100 to place a $22 drain pan under the new water heater that they would not be able to replace until the following day. So I requested that they alolow me to buy one and put it under the existing water heater so when they come back out it would be in code and not need to be replaced. The owner gets on the phone and says and I quote"I'm in buisness to make money just like you" So I replied "At the expense of ripping off the customer"
I told him it wasn't about the money it was the princable of the matter and I could write him a check for 10K if I wanted and he said "I would wipe my A** with your Check. To Media Sensors this call was recorded feel free to contact me.

SDL is used by my home warranty co. so when my kitchen faucet began leaking last month, I made a service request for them to fix or replace it. A rep came to my house on 8/23 and said he would have to order a part to replace the faucet and would call me when it came in. 2 weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything so I called SDL on 9/6, and was told that they'd check and get back to me. Another week goes by with no word from SDL, I call today 9/10, and today I'm told that the part is not covered by the warranty and they will not replace it. So I've patiently waited 3 weeks for them for nothing. Very unprofessional by SDL and completely unacceptable.

Sdl Plumbing sent a young man out to my home on July 6, 2012. When I met the young plumber at the front door, I could tell that he would rather be somewhere else doing something other than plumbing work, the thing he was getting paid to do. When he came into my home, I showed him what needed to be fixed. First, I showed him the kitchen sink and informed him that it leaked and that the garbage disposal did not work. Secondly, I showed him to the upstairs bathroom and informed him that the shower cutoff valve was not working properly. And third, I showed him a leak at the toilet bowl in the same bathroom. After seeing all the work to be done the young plumber seemed to be overwhelmed and started to tell me why he couldn't do the work at hand. He was very argumentative when I asked him why. After that I immediately sent him on his way. If you have plumbing problems, I would highly recommend that you use another plumbing company other than SDL Plumbing Co. In my opinion, their service is poor and courtesy and professionalism are obviously not important vrtures of the company. Use SDL Plumbing at your own "RISK"!
