If I can, I will give them zero star. We used sanitary plumbing for some minor plumbing works in Feb 2020. They came for 2 hours and billed us for 4.5 hours. Their own statement said $180 per hour with up to 1-hour max for travel time. The travel time from their office to the building is about 0.5 hours. After we brought the issues to their management and we required their time logs, they were not able to provide the time logs. Nevertheless, they refused to take any time off their invoice. I found them to be extremely unprofessional and dishonest. They overcharged people and do not even feel ashamed for their action. After reviewing other people's review, I realized that they did the same to others. These people should lose their license. I will file complaint against them in the city. Let me know if anyone wants to join. They should not get away with their theft.

My tenant asked to replace the kitchen sink faucet. Initial labor hour was overcharged and needed to be brought up. 5 hours was mended to 4 hours. Each hour was charged $180. And the total labor charge was $720.00! My tenant and I then noticed that material charge was highly inflated when we researched. The basic cost was around $100 while we were charged $535.51. They were not willing to reduce to more reasonable charge for the materials. The total charge was $1366.94.
The reason given to us was that the service was done in Manhattan and has to be expensive according to Evans who answered the phone.
Do not use this service. If you decide to use this service, make sure the number of hours and the material price which you should do the research beforehand.

OVER CHARGE for repeat services. On 2/10/19 Sanitary Plumbing responded to my call to again address a leaking toilet of which they had already visited 2x before. The first visit indicated that there was a fault in the wax seal. The second visit indicated that there was a crack in the toilet. The final visit was a re-installation of the wax seal and as indicated on their invoice ""re-wiped the brass floor flange"". When I inquired as to why I was being charged, I was told that because there was work done on the brass floor flange it fell out of the scope of this particular repair. However, the was no repair to the brass floor flange. As noted on the Sanitary Plumbing invoice, there was just a ""re-wipe"" of all parts to ensure a proper seal. This would seem to me to be standard procedure and should have been done in all of the previous visits. Even more so something to pay attention to as Sanitary Plumbing had already been to the site multiple times to address the same issue. This lack of due diligence caused water damage to the underlying apartment for which I am now liable. I witnessed and received confirmation from the tenant in the underlying apt. that on only (1) one occasion of the three (3) did the plumber(s) testing include checking the underlying site to ensure that leaking from my toilet to their ceiling had been resolved. The correct due diligence of the leak from my toilet would have resulted in the discovery of continued dripping before it escalated. I contacted Sanitary Plumbing accounting with my concerns and was referred to Jonathan Clark. After multiple attempts, I finally spoke with Mr. Clark and expressed in detail why I felt I should not be charged. Per our conversation, he was to discuss the issue with those individuals who had done the work. I have left message more than 5 message since mid April seeking resolution. I have also emailed multiple times seeking resolution. To date, I have not received a response. I do not believe I should be paying anything on the last invoice. However, because I am concerned about maintaining my good credit standing and as a good faith effort, I contacted Sanitary Plumbing and paid 1/2 of the outstanding balance on outstanding invoice. To date, I have yet to hear back them. I have submitted this complaint to the Better Business Bureau and here because I do not want the outstanding balance to enter into collection before a resolution can be found. I want it on record that I have made multiple attempts to resolve. I have been working with Sanitary Plumbing since February 2018. I have been very satisfied with their response, professionalism and quality of their work until now. I will also note that until now all invoices to me have been paid on or before due date. I believe this final billing is taking advantage. I am more than happy to pay for satisfactory services. This is not the case in the last work order.

Make sure you check their pricing upfront, and every step along the way. They will rip you off if you are not careful. The job was decent, but overcharged.

Frankly, it depends entirely who they send to do your job. I have had very good people and people who are frankly incompetent. The reason I will never use them again is as follows: I had a problem with a pipe on the third floor of my brownstone. They sent an old guy (mid-70s perhaps) who had a problem going up stairs. When he reached the third floor, he asked for a glass of water, sat down and chatted for 45 minutes. Then he worked for 1 1/2 hours and COULDN'T DO THE JOB. Another guy came the following day and did it within 40 minutes. I was billed for both visits. When I rang to protest the first bill (for the full 2 1/4 hours!), I couldn't get through to anyone at any level of seniority, so I didn't pay the bill. About two years later I got sued in Small Claims Court in the Bronx. I ended up paying because I was not in a position to take time off to drive up to the Bronx Courthouse and argue it out. And even if I had, what were the chances of my winning? Be very, very careful before you use this company.

$175 per hour plus I have to pay the cost for your transportation and equipment?? Are you guys nuts smh and with those prices you guys didn't even throw in an estimate so I can at least see how much you're going to try to rip me off. This is not the company for you if you're a home owner looking for a reasonable priced plumber to fix a small problem.

I was charged $730 dollars for travel time plus the cost of repair $1500 total. I have no problem with the repair time although a professional will do much better job but 2:30 Hours of travel time to get to Bronx right after Willis ave Bridge is a incredible. Be aware before using this service

Don't use them. Very dishonest in their billing, and the work could be done better and more efficiently by smaller companies for half the price. As noted above, they seem to be used by a lot of bigger management companies for coops, and they fit right into that mold. I would not recommend them and found them dishonest and unpleasant to work with. They did shoddy and expensive work for a small job, and can only imagine what they would be like for a bigger job.

Extremely professional, informative, and helpful. They were able to get to me the same morning that I called, as luck would have it, and even called to tell me they were on their way from the last job, and would be there in 20 minutes. AND THEY WERE THERE IN 20 MINUTES, EXACTLY! The fee was large, which they were very up front about, but I would happily pay it again. Sanitary Plumbing & Heating was a pleasure to work with. Totally worth it.

Suggested by my management agency. Arrived on time, set up over phone was easy, no BS estimate given, work completed quickly, the guys even came back free of charge to fix my temperature settings on the shower body they fixed. Plumbers were quiet, professional and had a good sense of humor. Which is nice when you have people standing in your tub at 0850.

TLDR: Good Plumbers
