My bathtub was clogged and i tried everything by myself and I decided to get help from the professionals. :(
i found San Jose Plumbing from google with a lot of good reviews. so i decide to go with them. it turned out to be right. the whole process with the dispatcher lady to the plumber (Mike) were very smooth and professional. So I can't help writing it right after Mike left (10 min ago).
Mike also helped me to identify the overflow cap issue and gave me suggestions on how to fix it. An very experienced and honest man.
J F.Mike Anchondo helped us solve a very tricky dishwasher problem.
We were in the middle of replacing an old dishwasher, when we found that there was a pipe behind the washer that wouldn't allow us to push the new dishwasher all the way in. Also, the guys who originally installed the flooring, didn't go all the way behind the washer on both sides, so the flooring wasn't even when we pushed in the new deeper dishwasher. --Guess you get shoddy work when you buy a home that was a 'contractor flip',.... but thats another story...
Anyway, Mike came in, immediately assessed the problem, and was able to solve it quickly so we could be happy campers with clean dishes once again. He also worked fast, so that we didn't have to pay for multiple hours of his service.
Its hard to find honest guys like Mike these days, and we really appreciated him solving our problem in an efficient manner.
First time using SJ Plumbing, and I have to agree with most here, that they are good.
My shower drain was backed up and you guys could imagine how miserable I was. I did what I could to resolve the issue myself. Like most, I did the 3 basics:-plunger, pour some type of clog remover(from Home Depot), and finally the auger. None of them work for me. That took out 1 day of my time. Well more like 2 days. Of course with work schedule and everything going on, that drag out to 4 days.
On the 4th day, I decided to call the professionals; and out of 3 that I called, only SJ Plumbing call me back promptly. The dispatch lady was nice and courteous and dispatched Kevin Kasich to our house.
Kevin showed up, told him what happen and what we've done, and right away he went to the source of the problem. Mind you, it was not an easy task, took him a while. Glad that we called professionals. He finally pull out the big cable after several attempts with the other smaller cables and got the roots out that was causing the whole clogging. It must have clog for a while because as Kevin puts it, ""if you see that nasty black ""funk"" in the sewer drainage, it's been there for a while"". The part I like is he cleans up the mess around the area. That's A+ in my book.
Price is reasonable, although I am supposed to get my 10% for mentioning Yelp, which he forgot. Hence the 4stars. Anyway, he did a great job, very professional. He spend about 1 1/2hrs. Total $205
Thank you Kevin Kasich. And will definitely call you guys again if we have other plumbing issues.
Joe L.Mike just left my house after fixing one of those jobs you thought you should have been able to do yourself but just didn't have the confidence to yank & pull on a fixture.
Turned out that the shower faucet (spigot) leak was in fact a worn washer but the trick was knowing to use a hex wrench to loosen the fixture & remove it to get to the core. DOH!
Anyway, enough about my dented ego . . . the job was done in less than 40 mins and no more dripping. It's what can go on behind the wall that made me nervous so I'm a happy camper.
Mike was about 90 mins late but I did make the dispatcher aware that mine was not an urgent call and, since they'd had a rash of emergencies, I chalked it up to business as usual in the plumbing field. However, I did feel the need to knock off a star for it as it didn't qualify as ""as good as it gets"" (5 star rating) Tough call as Mike was very professional & put the booties on, etc.
I've programmed their phone number for future problems so I definitely would recommend them!
My water heater broke this morning, and was leaking the water all over the place. After my call-in, Jason showed up at the door step after only an hour and my water heater replaced and running at no time.
It is just hassle free service. Jason is really professional and very helpful guy.
Jeff S.Two years ago they installed a new water heater for me. I was out of state traveling and we have a tenant so I had to get it done on the spot. I paid these guys $1250. The water heater came with a six year warranty. Two days ago the thermocouple went out and we had no hot water.
The manufactures warranty card said I could call the installer and they would be able to take care of the warranty details. So I called them, and told them I needed a warranty repair. They lady on the phone looked up my info to confirm they installed it and that it was under warranty, then said she would squeeze us in the next day.
When Jason the technician arrived he had a poor attitude. His first comment to me was they were ""not even supposed to be there"" doing this warranty repair. I was a little stunned but figured I would leave him alone and let him do his thing.
After the work was done he presented the bill for $145 and I noticed he had charged me for the part (which was supposed to be under warranty)! When I asked Jason about this he dismissed me saying I had to call the manufacturer directly in order for the part to be covered under warranty. I guess he's never read the warranty card on the water heaters he installs. I complained but didn't fight him over it because the part was $25 and I just wanted hot water, but I felt bait and switched and taken advantage of.
I would not recommend this place to a friend. The only reason i am giving them two stars instead of one is he did find a small gas leak right by the water heater while he was fixing it. That was appreciated.
After reading reviews on Yelp for plumbers, and calling and leaving messages with 4 from the high rated list, San Jose plumbing was only one who called back. I actually got a real person who initially scheduled me for 11-1 next day. However, got a call from them the same day as there was someone in the area. I told them that I had person come a day earlier and was not able to clear my sink drain in kitchen.
Mark from SJ plumbing came to the rescue. We had a short discussion and he got to work freed the blockage in 5-10 MINUTES! To be fair, maybe pouring drain cleaner in the pipe overnite helped. However, I was very impressed with Mark. He then reassembled my drain and trap and noted that the old galvanized pipe from the wall had bad threads. Mark fiddled with the nut and eventually got the water to stop. He also gave me a short term and long term suggestion on how to fix in future. He was confident considerate and cleaned up the mess under the sink. I was treated with respect and was not given some usual BS response from plumbers (like we need rip out all the pipe to fix this right) $$$.
Costs was $120 / hour, less a 10% Yelp discount, plus a $25 equipment charge, $133 in total, with a 30-day guarantee.
Thanks Mark for your great service!
Paul K.This is my first review for San Jose Plumbing; however, it isn't my first time using them.
Kevin, the owner, is meticulous. We have had other services come out to remove the tree roots that creep into the city's portion of the main, where they use clay pipes, but none have been so clean and tidy as Kevin. I appreciate the quality of service, honesty, and competitive pricing.
The other jobs successfully completed involved replacing a broken portion of underground water pipe, clean out of our main sewer line, and fixing a broken toilet. All were done professionally, and timely, without up selling of unneeded services.
Thank you Kevin, Mike, Jason, and Kimberly, and Happy New Year!
Called at 6:30pm on New Years Eve, and Ceasar came within 45 minutes to clear my kitchen drain. With folks coming over for a party, it was pretty urgent timing.
The woman on the phone was very helpful, explaining likely charges, and Ceasar was similarly very helpful and efficient.
I'd certainly use them again.
Had a great experience with San Jose Plumbing. Cesear was great and very good at explaining what needed to be done with our home. He got it done in a timely fashion and did not try to sell us what we didn't need!!! True professional. I would gladly use them again and just referred them to our physical therapist!!!
