Let's just say a leak above the kitchen ceiling on Christmas Eve is not exactly what I had in mind when thinking of Christmas miracles... Fortunately when I called San Jose Plumbing, they were there an hour later and figured out the problem as well as a temporary solution. Then we scheduled an appointment to get it fixed and the work was done early and under budget.
This is another great Yelp win. Just terrific service for a very fair price.

My family had such a negative experience with this company. They recommended an inferior product and left behind a wobbly toilet. A return visit did not resolve the problems. We also asked that they leave the parts they removed and they not only took them, but have failed to return them after multiple calls and requests. Frankly, based on our experience I'm surprised to see the positive reviews here.

I had two plumbing problems. A backyard faucet that was broken and no main shut off valve. I called San Jose Plumbing and a man Angelo fixed them both. He was quick and knowable. I will now be able to shut the water off to the house very easily. They do good work at a reasonable price. I will use them again .

Our wash room flooded a couple times today on -- of all days -- New Year's Day. What a way to start the new year, I thought.
I was leery of whom to pick, so I went to Yelp and found San Jose Plumbing, noticed from their website that they were Diamond Certified, and gave 'em a call. The company dispatched Darryl, who was nothing but customer-friendly and clearly knowledgeable -- two big parts to ""trust"" in any business.
Darryl intently listened to all the info I had on my problem, and he was very respectful of my need to keep my carpet clean by wearing booties while inside. Expertise-wise, Darryl clearly had a command of his plumbing expertise, as he expeditiously narrowed the problem down to a clogged ""p-trapp' (which was between the pipes coming fro our washer, kitchen and shower and the storm drain). He tirelessly snaked a pipe through my house's plumbing system from the kitchen to get to the p-trapp 80 feet away downstairs that had caused my backup (it was our last resort). And he did it tirelessly, even though it was a really tough job and the snake got temporarily stuck in the pipes! After Darryl solved my problem, he also gave me tips on how to keep the pipes upstairs and downstairs 'piping clean'.
Choosing San Jose plumbing for my emergency needs on a holiday was thankfully the best choice to start off the New Year, and the price it cost for an emergency visit on a holiday to have running water was reasonable.
Give them a call for your plumbing needs. They'll help you when your plumbing mess leaves you high and dry. (or wet!)

Needed a shower stem replaced. Estimate was free. They came on time and did the work quickly. Will use again.

We had a great experience with Darryl from San Jose Plumbing.
Well, the overall experience was a nightmare of course, but, Darryl did all he could to help us through it. The story... Our 3-year-old water heater burst early on a Thursday morning, with water flooding the garage. I called San Jose Plumbing, possibly waking up whoever answered. An hour later Darryl showed up, determined the heater was under warranty, helped dry out the garage, and replaced the heater. Next morning -- hot water, whew! But Saturday morning -- no hot water! Can you believe the brand new, replacement heater died due to a defective digital gas valve? Darryl came back, called the manufacturer and arranged for them to send a replacement valve.
Unfortunately the valve would be sent out by FedEx on Monday, not arriving until Tuesday. So four mornings without hot water! Darryl tried everything he could to get us a temporary unit -- it didn't happen, but at least he tried. Tuesday the part arrived, he came back, installed it and we're up and running fine now. Throughout the process he was just great to deal with and was very apologetic about all the problems (none of which were his fault).
I'd definitely call San Jose Plumbing again.

Woke up one fine morning to a leaky water heater. Called SJ Plumbing and they provided reasonable quote over the phone. Angelo showed up a couple of hours later and did a fantastic job...had a good time chatting with him while he installed the new water heater. I will use them again for any other plumbing work we need in the future.

No charge for estimates, that's a great start right there.
Our water heater starting leaking at an ever-increasing rate, so I called San Jose Plumbing (based on the reviews here) first thing the next morning and set up a visit later that afternoon.
Mike showed up right on time and quickly determined we needed a replacement heater. I wasn't surprised, since when I'd reached under earlier looking for the leak source, I could pull out chunks of rusty metal. So yeah, she's a goner.
The quote total set me back a bit. I guess good water heaters don't come cheap. I was of course curious what another favored plumber might charge, so I called and they quoted only $50 more. Since price was near equal, that leaves appointment time. My go-to plumber could only get here early the next morning, and was booked up solid otherwise. Early would normally be great, except we still needed to shower and get ready for the day.
So it basically came down to timing. San Jose Plumbing could come that Friday afternoon, and also worked on Saturday for the same weekday rate in case there were complications. Mike had also suggested I drain the tank for whatever plumber I chose, so that we could save a few dollars off the labor clock. I was impressed by this, liked the timing flexibility, and was eager to try out another plumber, since you can never have too many dependable plumbers in your kit.
On the day, Mike was a bit late, but that is totally understandable given the inevitable delays that occur in whatever jobs happened previously. My only ding here would be the lack of a warning call that things were shifting a bit in the schedule. No big, it's just nice when you get a heads up on stuff like that.
I offered to help haul things in and out, but Mike handled everything himself without issue. He made sure he had plenty of airflow in the room before he fired up his blow torch (always appreciated), and even put extra sealant on a pesky drip pan connection that was giving me fits the night before. There wasn't the rushed mania I've seen in other plumbers, nor the lethargic time padding I've seen too. Just getting the job done in the safe manner that you expect from professionals.
For a water heater, the thing is impressive. More like a cryogenic chamber. Our water pressure even got a boost, thanks to a better water flow. Cleanup was nicely done, given the drop cloth and other precautions that were taken. Impressive work all the way around.
And to top it off he came in under estimate. Can't argue with that.

I have a water leak under my kitchen sink and I called them based on their reviews and they tel me that they can have a plumber out in a day or two. WTF? 5 stars for these morons?

I called San Jose Plumbing at 10am this morning and reported the problem (a likely clog somewhere that had the 2nd fl master bath sinks backed up) and requested somebody as soon as possible. The woman was very courteous on the phone and she Kevin would be dispatched and should be there soon. Kevin called about 10 minutes later and said he would arrive at 11am. He arrived at 10:55. After listening to the description of the problem, he said ""That's easy."" He gave an estimate and got right to work. He was very pleasant to deal with, answered our questions, resolved the problem and cleaned up well.
We highly recommend them!
