Adam from San Jose plumbing was awesome!!! Estimate done and referred me to The Water Damage Experts to clean up big mess under house from leak. He came in and repaired a broken pipe under my house and still charged me less them the estimate. I will always use them for any plumbing repair. 100% recommended

I have used other plumbers in the past. SJ Plumbing will be the only company I call from this day on!

My initial call was greeted with prompt and courteous staff. They scheduled my appointment for the next afternoon. Their office called to inform me they had some scheduling conflicts & asked if a different technician could come by later in the afternoon. (it was only 1 hour off the original time frame) I said that would be fine.

Adam arrived as scheduled. He was professional & trustworthy. He gave me a quote for the work to be done while explaining each step and why it may be necessary. Adam called the next morning, as promised, to schedule the work to be done.

Once again, Adam phoned 20 minutes before to notify me he was on his way. He completed the job as quoted, in addition to a couple of other small items.

I would absolutely recommend San Jose Plumbing to anyone in need of an honest and reliable plumbing company.

These are the guys we called when the clowns sent by our home insurance program said they couldn't fix our clogged sewer. They arrived promptly and were upfront about the cost. They were professional and fixed the problem. They also reattached the ""cleanout"" pipe that had been dislodged by the clowns.

Our hot water heater decided to spring a leak at 10PM on a Saturday night. I called San Jose Plumbing at 8AM on Sunday and a nice lady answered the phone and had Daryl call me right away to schedule an emergency fix. They showed up early and did a great job. I would highly recommend San Jose Plumbing.

We have had multiple issues with our plumbing over the years at our house--maybe because the previously owner was a ""do-youself""-er but at any case, have needed to interact with plumbers more than I would like. However, now have used San Jose Plumbing 4x for non-related issues (replacing water heater, clearing blockage in main outflow line, leaking tub faucet, etc.) and have had a good experience everytime!
Prices seem reasonable and the workers all have been friendly and helpful. Compared to other plumbing groups, these are the guys that we want to work with!

""It's ALWAYS the customers' fault"" -- Kevin Garza, owner of San Jose Plumbing.

I can't believe any service professional would say that, in any situation or in any context but sadly that was what Kevin said to me this morning. Either Kevin was brutally honest with me (I like to believe that was the case) or that's just the way he argues his way out of a warranty. Buyers beware!

Here is the full story:

Last week, our kitchen drainage clogged up - the 5th time in 14 years. Kevin came out on Wed and worked on it for 1.5 hours. Kevin went under the house after he couldn't get the snake through. He wanted to see the plumbing under the kitchen. He determined that the drainage plumbing under our kitchen was not done correctly. Kevin was truly professional. He has a great tool chest with many kinds of snake and snake heads (that he will charge you a $25 equipment fee for). He was able to open it up, so it seemed, after he knew more about what's going on under the house, by ""using a combination of two drop heads"". Afterwards, we tested it very briefly by running a garden hose in the drain line. Everything seemed to be in order. I happily paid Kevin a little bit extra for the work done.

6 days later, the drainage completely clogged up again. I called San Jose Plumbing on Tue and Kevin came this morning (Thu). Half an hour later the line was opened again. But he would not warranty the work from the week before. Kevin claimed the only reason the drain clogged up again was because of what we had done in our kitchen. ""And I don't do free work"", Kevin further commented. I respect that but I was not convinced at all that it was because of what we had done since we hardly used the kitchen in the past week. I suspected but of course I could not prove that the Kevin didn't really open the clogged drain fully last week. Just today, the snake ran into the wrong direction a couple of times leading him to believe that he had gone 65 ft out and all the way down to the main line. He later determined that it wasn't the case. It probably wasn't the case either last week when we thought the snake went through successfully. But no, that never occurred to Kevin.

Kevin simply would not agree to my point that today's work should be covered by the 30-day warranty.

Getting nowhere with this, I asked Kevin what exactly San Jose Plumbing's 30-day warranty covers. Kevin said ""Well, kitchen drainage is not covered by the warranty, okay? And, this type of problem is ALWAYS the customers' fault"". Good to know, Kevin.

Kevin did offer to split the 1-hour charge of $140 (I thought it was $115?) with me. Sensing that I was not quite happy with even that, he offered me this instead after I came back out of the house with my checkbook: ""Give me $40 cash and we will call it the day"". By now, I knew something was REALLY not right with this. I gave Kevin two $20 bills and waved him good bye. (Yes, quite wimpy of me, I agree.)
By the way, I didn't ask for a receipt today. No point, is it, if San Jose Plumbing's work is not under any kind of meaningful warranty?

I like Kevin. He's pleasant, affable, intelligent, and seems interested and knowledgeable in global politics and the world economy. We had some enjoyable conversation while the snake was finding its way to success. To be honest with you, I will probably use San Jose Plumbing again. But I will only use them again if (1) I can tell for sure and ahead of time that what I need done is a pretty straightforward and simple job, (2) it's not an issue under or around my kitchen, and (3) Kevin would explain to me clearly every fine print on his so-called warranty before he starts the work. I think that's entirely fair. Don't you?

in general, the overall experience is great and glad to have hot water back in a few hours.

Fast response - I called around 11 for leakage of the water heater, and Katie gave me an appointment window from 2 - 4pm. Jason then gave me a call to see if I was available earlier and they came earlier, which is nice.

Polite service - I heard the wrong quote, so I called the office and Jason (the guy who did my service) to verify. They are very patient and explain to me what the breakdown of cost was.

The only thing I would prefer is they give you a list of water heater they can buy for you. Jason by default told me the price and didn't give me an option. He probably wants you to buy the best and most reliable ones out there, but I would love to know the options and the price.

nearly 11pm at night and I was freaking out because of a buster water heater and work the next morning... I'd called and a man picked up, said someone will call me back between 8a-830a, which they did, and someone was at my house by 9 and replaced it and out the door by 12p. I am very happy with the response time, clean up, install, and pricing. As a first time homeowner, it was very nerve wrecking, but he made me feel so at ease while I have water all over my floor.

My water heater went out over Christmas. They were very responsive - even calling me back on Christmas day. When it came time to do the insall, they were even more responsive when I mentioned Yelp. The installer did a quick, clean job. The work is holding up great. I recommend these folks. Be sure to mention Yelp.

A little after 1 PM today, we noticed that the pipe behind our second-floor toilet was leaking--inside the wall, no less! We figured we'd be facing a major hassle even to find a plumber, never mind a good one. And, even if we did, he would have to cut into the wall and we'd need to re-wallpaper. But we called San Jose Plumbing, and they sent Jason to us within the hour. Not only was he able to fix it in about an hour, but he did it without cutting into the wall. And, better still, we were charged the normal hourly rate (time and a half kicks in at 6 PM Saturday).

We just couldn't be more pleased with the quick response time, professional skill, and reasonable pricing. Thanks Jason and San Jose Plumbing!
