Our AC was leaking big time. After searching through Yelp and asking around with some friends we settled on these guys. To be fair, no one recommended them, just they were the quickest to answer the phone and tell me they had a technician in the area who could come by in the next half hour (for which I was grateful).
They came as promised on time and the guy was very professional and courteous. This rating is in no way a reflection of the niceness, competency, or willingness to help of the technician.
Where they really lost points in my eyes was that they ended up charging me much more than anticipated just for diagnosing the problem. $89 trip charge, $102 diagnostic charge, and $121 to clean the drip pan/drain. I was told it was a plumbing issue and not something he could fix longterm without calling their company plumber. I would have been fine to pay the $121 for the work he did to clean the drain (as this did fix part of the problem) but I don't feel that the other fees combined with this one were worth the work that was done. Lastly, the call center rep I contacted did not clue me into any diagnostic charge (beyond the trip fee) when I asked her prior to sending the tech over.
Look, I'm a new homeowner and have been told that sometimes it's just part of the business to work in these upcharges. While the pricing policies put in place by this company earned them $300, they lost the opportunity to have an honest paying relationship with me in the future.

As a business owner, we put our trust in other companies we work with. Unfortunately, we recently had a bad experience with SA Air. Although we had entered into a twice a year maintenance contract, SA never contacted us for our second inspection, that was due in December 2019.
Not until our AC quit working and we had to contact them in March, did we see them.
When I contacted SA Air to ask why they hadn't done the 2nd inspection, I was told they had a reminder call system in place for residential clients, but nothing for Commercial clients, which I still don't understand. She said they "would have to work on that".
The tech who came out said we needed $3,600 in repairs and did not get the AC working. We then had Beyer Boys come to inspect, based on a recommendation from our Leasing Company. In a short time they had the unit up and running and we received a bill for $246, which we were happy to pay.
I canceled my contract with SA Air and have signed with Beyer Boys to maintain our unit.
BTW, I asked them to refund the service call where they did nothing and, to date, they have not. So much for Customer Service.

I had a pin hole leak in one of the refrigerant lines of my HVAC system late at night. It's an older system that runs on R22. I called these guys because they were the first to come up when I searched for 24 hour service online. The lady I spoke with on the phone was courteous and told me she's get in touch with their on call technician to get some one out. At this point there was still pressure in the line. I received a call back almost an hour later saying that the technician wouldn't be out until the next morning. Annoyed I agreed to an 8-10 timeframe and a 50$ trip fee. I then got a call from the technician who was also courteous but seemed a little out of the loop.
The next day rolled around and a service tech showed up without calling first like I had been told they would do. I have three large dogs so it was pretty annoying to have wrangle them so quickly when I was supposed to have been given a heads up. Turns out, this guy wasn't even the tech I'd spoken to the night before. He was out sick. He barely wanted to talk to me without 'Bob' present. And I thought to myself, who the heck is Bob? Aren't you supposed to be the technician?
Anyways Bob shows up and immediately tries to sell me on replacing my whole system. I have a two story house with two units and two condenser units in the attic. There was no way I was going to consider replacing them because of a pin hole leak in a copper line. He kept trying and I got even more frustrated. At one point bob walked away for a moment and I said to the technician "listen, we know what the problem is and how to fix it. I want a quote for the work and for you guys to stop wasting my time."
I went inside for a moment and came back out when they told me it would be about 400 to fix the hole and another 500 for the refrigerant. I was born at night but not last night. R22 is more expensive sure but 500$ for 5lbs?? That's insane. And 400$ to braze a pinhole is Highway Robbery. I said no thanks and gave them their 50$ and sent them on their way. They hung out in front of my house for another HALF AN HOUR. I eventually got in my car and headed out to Home Depot. When I got back they were gone. These guys were awful and I recommend any one look somewhere else because your bound to have a better, more honest and less weird experience than this circus.

We were very pleased with the job that Luis did for us and also the girl who scheduled and followed up on our appointment. Luis drove to quite a few places to find cases of the unique filters that we needed for our furnace and delivered them quickly to our home which is rather far from San Antonio. Great company! Thank you!

My husband and I called on Labor Day at 9:00pm at night, they didn't give us an exact time as to when the tech was going to come out which was a bummer cause we were unsure how long we would have to wait but they quoted us a very reasonable diagnostic fee so we were fine with waiting. Our tech Kahlil made it out at 10pm which I thought was very reasonable, our ac had stopped blowing cold air hours earlier and he was able to fix it in less then 20 minutes. He was so nice and such a pleasure to do business with. I'm so grateful they were able to come out and fix it so quickly. I'll absolutely use them for future maintenance and problems.

Be ready to be taken to the cleaners. They were fast to get to the home but they did not run any diagnostics just looked at the condenser and evaporator and automatically advised we needed a new AC system. Quoting around 7K-20K on the high end. They also recommended an alternative being that Freon would be 200 dollars for one pound!!! Meaning it takes 6 gallons at least to fill up the AC, costing around 1,200. When the Freon only cost them 200 for the tank. I ended up getting a second opinion, lower charge to come to my home, ran diagnostics and it was simply that my coils needed to be cleaned out and my AC unit. This whole process will cost around 500 instead of thousands! So be sure to ask questions and don't jump into the conclusions that you need a new AC. I hope this review makes them understand that honesty should come a long way.

They have been coming to my house for about 2.5 years. I find they are a honest and excellent company. I got ripped off by the people who sold us our A/C unit 9 years ago. Two different sets of coils they put in my attic, this last time they wanted to put a third one in. No way, because the company I used to use are ripoffs, they only want to sell you a new unit. Not this way woth Service experts, I think they really care about the customer. Nice to see for a change. Thanks guys!!!

The representative was VERY professional. But...because the referral was through Costco (I guess), he would only offer me very high priced systems. There were several Costco discounts offered to entice customers. I am in no way interested in buying a system. I need an air handler only.
I called their office later and was told that they DO sell only air handlers. I was not interested at all feeling duped. I am assuming the system only proposals were because the referral was through Costco. I am very disappointed in both Costco and San Antonio Air. This scheme between Costco and SA Air of only selling systems verges on a scam.
I went with a very reasonably priced and professional business, Air Clinic of San Antonio to sell and install the air handler that I need.
They told me that the UV lights that San Antonio Air also tried to sell me are ineffective.

We were able to get service the same day we called in for a concern.
Edgar was our technician who patiently and respectfully listened to our concerns about some noises we heard. He explained what he would trouble shoot and the follow-up appointment. All the while, our AC has been working!

Carlos was our technician. He was very knowledgeable, efficient, and thorough, and he showed us exactly what the issue was with our air conditioner (it had been running, but not blowing cold air). The work was done quickly -- replaced a capacitor and fan within an hour -- and we had cool air again!! He also had excellent customer service skills and spoke very highly about the company and how they treat their employees, which was nice to hear.
