Unfortunately, our home warranty company dispatched Safe Cali Plumbing for our leaking shower drain that was going down the wall to our downstairs bath. The tech came out the first day and apparently didn't get enough information for First American. So we wait and wait until finally they contact us that they have to come back a second time to cut open the ceiling to get a better diagnosis. Not to fix the leak, but to just cut open the ceiling. That's annoying.

So the tech comes back out and cuts a big hole in our ceiling to take pictures and to send the diagnosis back to First American. The tech seemed really nice and knowledgeable. He told us exactly what was wrong with the drain and stated that it was a pretty easy repair in that the silicone around the drain had gone bad. We asked him approx how much it would cost to fix it and he said, ""only a couple hundred dollars"".

The following day I get an email from First American stating that Safe Cali Plumbing had diagnosed the problem and that it would cost $7,400 out of my pocket. I thought that it HAD to be an error, but no. When I contacted my home warranty customer service they had told me that Safe Cali Plumbing told them that the entire shower and fiberglass insert had to be replaced! And by the way, there are NO other leaks in or around the shower nor are there any cracks or damage to the shower pan. It's strictly the drain with a small leak around the outside of the drain.

Also, it's a very small walk-in shower. How in the world did it go from an easy fix that would only be a couple hundred bucks to apparently a bathroom remodel?! It sounds like whoever took our paperwork in their office decided to add or change the diagnosis. Sketchy to say the least.

This company is super shady and I'm now getting a second opinion on their work and diagnosis. It's too bad that I've wasted time with them and now have a gaping hole in my ceiling without being able to use our shower for weeks.

Oh and by the way, good luck trying to get a hold of them by phone or email. I've tried both ways and haven't received a response. Also sketchy.

Robert did a great job which was not easy. There was something caught in our garbage disposal and he had to really work at it to free the disposal. He then clean up afterwards and gave us ideas as to how to take care of it.

In less than a week, I have to call my home warranty twice. Once for fixing broken faucet in kitchen and to clear the drain in the shower. Robert came both times and did fantastic job. The company is very prompt in following up with my complaint, usually in hours I got a call to schedule appointment. The service is scheduled at the earliest, I have not seen this turn around in the past with other companies. And the quality of the work is great. Robert is punctual, knowledgeable and cool. I highly recommend this crew for your plumbing needs.

A star is a lot for this company. AHS approved the repairs. Plummer promises to fix the problem 2 times but never shown up. Office person promised to call be back but never call. They tried to avoid this job by any means. I know why they have 2.5 star review rating. Customers give them 1 star but friends 5.

Our water heater tank failed and flooded our garage at night.

We called American Home Shield warranty and they immediately dispatched Safe Cali Plumbing.

The technician Aram was really nice and he helped to temp shut off the water and inspect the situation.

He said he could be out the next morning with a regular water heater.

I have wanted to go tankless since we got the house and I asked him if he could install tankless.

He went over several ideas and options with me and advised me on Navien Tankless. I did some research before on Navien, based on recommendations from another plumber when I was shopping before.

Aram had his Office Manager Mary contact me the next morning with a quote and suggestions.

I had already done some homework before on tankless and their pricing including install and brining the plumbing up to code was great! A couple hundred less vs. two other quotes I received.

Mary also provided me info on So Cal Gas rebates and Navien federal tax credits.
And she also explained how to work with AHS on getting them to help pay for some of this through our home warranty cash out of our water heater claim.

I ordered the Tankless through them and they took a deposit and did not charge me until all the work was completed.

They relocated my home water filter system and installed the plywood I supplied on the wall to mount the Tankless Water Heater, they relocated some of the copper lines and drains and brought us up to current code.
They spent extra time cleaning including mopping the garage.

Aram was always happy to explain what they were doing during install and they took the broken down water heater to scrap.
I recommended Safe Cali Plumbing.

My best friend's husband is an amazing plumber, whom I trust, and I told him what this company told me is going on. He was surprised how fast they figure it out and he said they knew exactly what to do and was impressed how fast they figured it out. He's rarely impressed with other companies.
I also have anxiety when things break and they fixed everything so fast and calmly to where I didn't get my usual anxiety. Ask for Bosh and Tig. Seriously intelligent, awesome, honest guys who know exactly what they're doing.
I found them through my insurance company and it's rare nowadays to find great companies like this that work with insurance.

As I mentioned in my original review, Safe Cali Plumbing loves to reply to negative reviews by saying the customer is upset because their claim was denied or because the customer is lying about something. They basically have the same rebuttal for every negative review and after leaving my original review, they immediately replied by saying just that. How embarrassing for them.

For the record, AHS did not deny our claim. In fact, they sent us a check to cover the cost of a new water heater, labor and disposal of the old! We gladly accepted because we were able to find an honest company to do legitimate work that didn't include $2850 ( not $2700 as I mistakenly wrote before) of imaginary and unnecessary work.

As far as them saying something about us being a business, we'll, I can't say that I even know what that is all about but then again, they are documented liars so I'm not going to put too much thought in to anything they say.

I had a few issues with leaks and a water hammer that required a plumber to come and inspect. Robert from Safe Cali Plumbing was on time, very knowledgeable and addressed the issues we were having in our home. He was courteous and even offered solutions that were more cost effective when he could have easily uncharged me it looked to profit from the situation. He took extra time and helped explain some preventative care options that I could DIY or hire out. I appreciated his knowledge and honesty!

Our hot water heater broke before the warranty expired. Moe from Safe Cali replaced it, dealt with the warranty even though the old tank was revealed to have some damage that must have resulted from its installation by a different company, returned my calls so I could get trained on re-lighting the pilot light, etc. Price for lab and extra work to meet code was ok.
