Price gouging, taking advantage of our time in need. Most of these 1 star reviews I have found to be 100% accurate. Deciding to go in another direction. Please avoid. Quoted me 14,000 to get a new ac unit. 89.00 for a visit and 600 for a nitrogen leak test and can barley get anyone knowledgeable on the phone. Our unit is only 5 yrs old.
His equipment broke during the first visit. Guessing that's a strategy they have used consistently to price gouge its customers in the community. Shame on you!
Complete waste of our time! Not only did they not show or call during the 4 hour window, but they showed up 2 hours after that, and only after having to call twice to get an update about what was going on
. Tech didn't have the supplies to fix the issue, which was simply changing the incline of the exhaust pipe. He also didn't seem to know how to begin to fix the issue. At one point I thought he would do more damage by the way he was just banging and shoving the duct work around. He had to call his supervisor for advice as well. I felt bad for the tech in training because I could see he was just as surprised by the incompetence of the lead tech as I was. He actually apologized because he could see how irritated I was getting. Nothing was fixed and there is no chance I would ever recommend anyone using this company, no matter how desperate you are. Save yourself time and money and hire ANYONE else!!!
Additionally, after posting the above review, the automated, and immediate, response was the following: We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your positive experience with us. As a premier service provider, we strive to provide exceptional service, and we're thrilled to hear that we delivered. Thank you for choosing us!
Clearly they don't read or respond to reviews with an actual person, and they do not care about the customer or quality of work and service. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company!
Michael M.Rs Andrew's put in a new a c split system back 2020 not only did they do a bad job I don't get heat down stairs when I called them and tell them about this problem they send tech that just lie to me 8000$ down the drain
Called yesterday after a significant snow storm our heating was out. They said yes they'd send someone out between 2-6. We hunkered down and didn't call anyone else since they promised their guy was for sure coming. Called at 3:30 to ask ETA, was told guy was on a job but would call when he was on the way.
At 6:30 nobody. RS Andrews calls this morning to say do we still need someone they were closed yesterday. Are you kidding me?! Explained their operators have a script to read
and it's not their fault. Who's fault is it? I think they owe me the $109.00 service fee. DO NOT USE THEM!
I had a technician from RS Andrews come out and diagnose my heating system. I was not getting a flow of heat in my home. I paid $89.00 diagnostics fee and the technican stated that there was a burnt wire that needed replacing, along with a capacitor. The quote for $1,131.00 not to include the $89.00 diagnostic fee. I thought that was extremely too much for the repair. I called another heating and air conditioning company for a second opinion and the technican stated to me: ""The only problem was the burnt wire needing replacing which was on .50 (cents) for the part and a ten minute repair"". The technican check my capacitor and compressor and stated there was nothing wrong with the neither one. Of course, I stated to both of them that my system was only 2 years old. The secondary company that came out could not believe RS Andrews was going to charge me that amount of money for that minor problem. Either the technician was trying to pocket that money or they thought I didn't know any better. Guys...Do your research! Be careful out here and always get more than one opinion on these services! RS Andrews will never get my business again!
Hitsa P.Man never in my life would I have ever thought I would be a victim to such poor business ethics. These are the type of things you see on news where a technician comes in the house check the HVAC with barely any tools and come back with some issues and problems with a ridicules amount to fix it.
So I had no power to my thermostats so I called up RS Andrews. Everything went smoothly at first, making the appointment through phone was super easy, having a technician come out to the house within the time frame. Great interaction with the technician but everything went downhill quickly from there. Once he looked at the problem I was quoted 5k to fix the issue and they needed to replace the whole HVAC! Mind you, the HVAC wasn't even 9 years old yet. Then a second salesman from their company comes along hours later and quotes me 12k! I ended getting two more quotes and found a company that fixed my HVAC and it only cost 1.1k with labor and parts. Still expensive but better than 5k plus! Customers beware of this Company and get multiple quotes!
Winston W.Labor fees for 1hr to 1.5 hrs to replace warrantied part is over $700+
Charged cc before completing service. Definitely not good business.

You have gotten to big for your britches RSA Of Tidewater
J David H.I've been with RS Andrews for over 20 years. I've been satisfied for the most part and I'm hard to please. They are not the most reasonable HVAC in the area, but I lean toward quality.
I've had several units replaced over the years. The worse systems were Trane which they sold me. Less than 10 years I replaced with Carrier and I'm much happier. The company is no longer local and was bought out by a national dealer. I actually think this has made them stronger. They now offer electrical and plumbing.
Service has been overall good. I had one major issue that they replaced just out of warranty. The entire downstairs furnace could not be repaired after it incurred moisture damage.
The best tech over the years has been Scott. The office people are responsive. Overall I have been pleased. Having the service agreement has been worth it to stay regular on maintenance.
I think a strong 4 stars represents my experiences over 20 years.
Way overpriced! Cost of covered warranty repairs in most cases exceeds or equals what a small AC business would charge without warranty. They bring no additional value. Look elsewhere!
The tech said I needed a new unit. I said I need to think about it. I new the heatwave was causing it not to cool at full power. Tech said I'll clean the coils and a replacement part. I paid $695.00 to the tech. I got a second opinion a few days later. This tech said I didn't need a new unit. The tech also said no part was replaced and the coils weren't cleaned. The tech showed me the coils and they were filthy and there was a loose coil. This tech wrote on paper what was wasn't done and I emailed to the manger of RS Andrews. I also spoke to the manager and he promise to refund my money. Ten days later no refund. Today I diputed it with my credit card company and I will make a
BBB complaint. This company tried to gouge me during a heatwave and lied about the service they perform. Beware of this company.
