Royal Mechanical Services, Ltd. (RMS) was founded as a branch of Royal Home Protection, a company under Electronic Realty Associates, LP (ERA). Royal Home Protection, Inc. began its journey in 1972 and rapidly emerged as a leader in the home protection and warranty sector. A significant advantage was the extensive, customized database of ERA, allowing the capability to assess data instantly to enhance decision-making, which allowed the company to take proactive measures.

In late 1993, Tom and Charlene Shyver purchased Royal Mechanical Services from ERA and incorporated the firm. Tom was a key player in Royal's early success with the parent organization and recognized a way to connect customers to locations via technology while still encouraging a focus on personal communication. By adhering to this principle, Tom and Charlene guided the company towards strengthening customer relationships. This database eventually transformed into our RAZOR facilities management system.

During the first three years post-rebirth, the Shyver family ran the business from a home office. As the customer base expanded and the brand grew stronger, other family members came on board. Shortly after, it was time to seek out office space and they moved into a small office suite alongside a veterinarian. Each family member has a memorable ""Did that really just happen?"" story regarding
