This can't be real. I called this company again I don't know what was I thinking to give them a second chance. We called yesterday to set up for today and guess what they told your tech will be there between 10-12 next day which is TODAY 08/21/14 and at 11:15 am this morning they called me and told me that he will be late again which happen same bs last time I called and set this up. Last time was 2 days oh sir we running late will call you when he's done with the work is doing right now I guess that work was 48 hours I truly think this company is the worst of the worst I've ever deal with. I can't even think why I even try to give them a second chance but I thought everyone deserves a second chance but they just can't get right WOW.
The funy thing is they will call you after they messed up and tell you sir we are very very sorry about all this after you waste your day.
So here we go people our neighbor company KEEP WAITING THEY WILL COME ONE DAY OR EVENTUALLY

Our tub was clogged Sunday night. I got up early and called roto rooters at 6:00am. We had a plumber at our door at 8:00 am. He was courteous, knowledgable and quick. We were able to take a shower and at work by 10:00 am. Unbelievable experience. Will always call them with our plumbing problems.

Service arrived within an hour of my initial phone call. My sewer line was repaired and working properly after he cleaned the line.

I'm in Naperville, IL.
Our drain in the laundry room flooded our basement. We didn't know what was going on and Roto-Rooter helped. We called on Saturday and they came out Sunday AM.

Pros:
Vono, the Roto-Rooter technician, was fantastic. He was very helpful and optimistic when we were in need of help. He did an excellent job and educated us about how to stop this in the future.

He came on a Sunday without the extra fees for a weekend.

He was respectful of our house with his machinery. He was also kind to our two dogs who were displaced during the flood.

Good communication from Roto-Rooter overall. Confirming my appointment via email.

Neg:
The whole job cost $800 which was more than I anticipated. My expectations may have been naive.

My appointment was between 9-11am but Roto-Rooter didn't arrive until almost 1pm. They did call to update me but it still cut into our day.

Had Roto-rooter out to y house yesterday b/c we had (minimal) flooding to our basement due to a poorly piped basement bathroom. I gave only 4 stars b/c the first guy who came out here did NOTHING except say that the Inducer pump was broken but he couldn't fix it. Another appt had to be made (luckily same day) where someone who actually knew how to fix it could help me (he also gave me estimates for my sump pump which needed replacing). The 2nd guy did a wonderful job, fixed the flooding issue and set up my appt for the sump pump replacement. I don't understand why he couldn't have been set up in the first place. What is the purpose of having someone come out who doesn't know how to fix things or isn't able to give estimates...? That part of my day was wasted but all in all, a good experience.

Beware of these people.... Hire local plumbers even if you have to pay an emergency fee. We had a blocked drain to the septic tank and called for what should be a simple rooting job.

The ""tech"" gave a very high price equal to anyone's emergency price but I agreed as it had to be done right away (huge mistake). As the system was full of water...even the tubs, he said it would be best to go through a toilet upstairs instead of at the clean out in the basement. To make a very long story short....he flooded the upstairs bath and the basement and didn't care a bit or help clean in the least.

That night we awoke to water in backed up again. Two of them came out this time, flooded the house again and announced that they couldn't fix the problem and I would need a $5000 pipe replaced.

However... Before they even left I had a real plumber on the way who finished the job for $300 and found no break in the pipe as roto rooter advised. I feel now that we were victimized and am considering filing suit. BEWARE!!

Scheduled Roto-Rooter to come out via online option to unclog my kitchen sink. They called within an hour and gave me a time window. They called before they arrived. The technician Tim was very nice. He unclogged the sink and told me about the 6 month warranty on the service. The service was expensive $414.90 to unclog a sink, but they were out the same day versus my normal plumber who couldn't come out for 2 days. Tim also told me how to prevent and treat this issue in the future. I would use them again, but only if a cheaper option were not available.

I live in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. We had roto rooter come out for a maintenance check. The technician, Jimmy C, was on time and very informative on what he was doing. He also showed us what he found and ways to avoid a blockage in the future. He was very nice and professional and also gave us a time frame for follow up. Overall, very happy with the service.

Roto-Rooter came out to our house yesterday to check on a backup we were experiening in our home in Skokie. We noticed sewage water coming up from our basement shower, so we gave them a call.
Within 15 minutes after scheduling the appointment (same day & a Sunday) and being told they would be here in about 2 hours, I got a call saying the plumber was on his way. About 20 minutes later, Kelly showed up. He explained what he needed to do and did his job fast and efficiently.
I really don't have anything to compare this service to since we haven't have this problem, but I feel he did a fast, thorough job. Also, after asking how long the ""guarantee"" was, he told us it was 6 months, which sounded good to me.
As far as I know now, eveything seems to be fine. No more sewage odors is quite a plus!
The price seemed very steep, but like I said, we've never had to do this before so can't compare... but after reading all the other reviews, I feel like we got completely taken advantage of. All he did was rod out the line from our house to the flood control in our front yard, and then from there to the street. We were charged $415. Granted, it was a Sunday, but if I would have read the reviews before making a quick decision, I guess we could have waited till today and saved a large amount of money. UGH!!!

No one likes to spend money on projects. I'm the same, but also willing to pay for quality work that I'm unable or willing to do. I had a clogged bathtub that I tried clearing out and couldn't do, time to call in the experts. I've used Roto-Rooter about 4 times now for whole house cleanings, etc. and every time they've done great work. Do I wish their prices were a little lower? Yes. However, after using other plumbing companies in the past, the service and work reflect their prices. Everything is covered up front in the price and the job gets done.

For example, this time to get to the test box, the bathroom sink had to be removed, as well as portions of the wall. No extra charge to demo, etc. Time didn't matter, we worked for around 2 hours to get in to where we needed to get to and clean out from the test box down into the stack.

My plumber, as all have been, was pleasant, on time, and let me know what was going on and why.

Due to the rain in the Chicago area, they were running a bit behind and phoned to make sure that instead of the normal 2 hour window, it would be 3. That was awesome, and it didn't matter because they still showed up within the 1st quoted hour.

All said and done at the end of the day, the drain runs great and I was happy to pay for the service to get what needed to be done and will happily do so in the future.
