The appointment was simple to make (online), and an appointment was available about 2 hours in the future which was great. He technician came within the window, and took less than an hour to snake the drain. He was friendly as well. However the snaking was *way* too expensive, compared to most other companies. It did come with a 6-month warranty though, so it could be worse...

I contacted Roto-Rooter to clear a clogged kitchen drain. The technician arrived promptly, was courteous and efficient, and the problem was corrected within an hour. However the cost for service is highly inflated. Due to this I would never contact this company again for any plumbing service and I could not recommend it to anyone.

Thank you Roto-rooter and Van Nghaka (our technician) for a great job! We called Roto-rooter midnight the night before a bad snowstorm in our area, Rockville MD, and we managed to get a technician to come first thing the next morning. We had a clogged pipe that was backing up water into our kitchen and laundry room and were in desperate need of help. Van was wonderful and spent several hours at our home, in our crawl space, fixing the problem. Even though the roads were getting bad and the snow was really coming down, Van stayed until the job was completed. Plus, the price was very reasonable and I learned a lot about my crawl space plumbing! Thank you!

I am a property manager and manage 80 houses and condos in DC. I have worked with a lot of contractors and was very happy with Roto-Rooter. I called them and they had someone on site within an hour even though it wasn't an emergency. The main drain was clogged and had been for months. It had caused other problems in the house and all waste was being dumped into the crawl space of the 100+ year old house. Once that plumbing was reconnected we realized it was a problem with the main drain. Roto-Rooter came out and removed the toilet on the main level. They snaked the drain out to the drain on the back patio. We turned on the water in the house and brown sludge poured out like a river onto the back patio. We shut off the water and the person from Roto Rooter literally shoveled shit. He got rid of all of it, hosed off the back patio, snaked the rest of the drain, identified a crack in the pipe and re-installed the toilet. It could have been so much worse. I was very happy with Roto Rooter.

Arrival was on-time, with a call in advance. My technician Chris very quickly assessed the issue with two slow flushing toilets, and gave me options on how to proceed. He provided the required service, and all seems good. I'd like to add that Chris's attitude was extraordinary; he was very patient with my questions, and explained the terms of service thoroughly.

I hope that all of the Roto-Rooter technicians are as capable and professsional as Chris. My experiences with, and some other opinions of, Roto-Rooter suggest to me that it is one of the better plumbing outfits in the business.

The pipe's broke in my mother's house because the weather has been so cold and water leaked into the basement through the walls. I called Roto Rooter, the plumber was at the house within two hours. He stayed until the job was done at 2 in the morning and worked very hard and steadily until everything was fixed. The pipes are in, the weather has been below freezing for days and there is no more leaking!
Very impressed with the plumber...he was incredibly knowledgeable and worked so hard to fix everything.
Prices are high but I'm grateful the leaking could be stopped and the pipes are fixed.
